AFAIK, it is not possible for Series 40 phones. Techies here may please elaborate on this.

Try with Nokia PCSuite. It should work properly. You will have to checkup properly.

Business Card Via Sms Failed
KumaarShah replied to prabakar's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Even within Nokia, one can send business cards only within the technology- namely CDMA to CDMA and GSM to GSM only. It will not go from CDMA to GSM and from GSM to CDMA. You will receive a SMS where you will get junk characters only. -
The Voice Recorder feature states 90 minutes recording possible, how? or should it read 90 secs?

No Oxygen, No Water, No Land, No Light! Total Network !
KumaarShah replied to @ksh@T's topic in The Lounge
Thanks, mate, I saw the ad once again yesterday during the India-Pak finals and you are right about 3 lakh villages. This means that RCL has more than double the network of Airtel. And yet they have only about 60 to 65% of Airtel's numbers. Or maybe they are bluffing about the availability in so many villages and towns? Quite possible with RCL, na? -
No Oxygen, No Water, No Land, No Light! Total Network !
KumaarShah replied to @ksh@T's topic in The Lounge
All networks cannot be operational at all the places. So in some areas RCL may be very strong and in some areas they may not be present at all. The recent ads of Airtel states that network is available in 1.75 lakh villages and 5000 towns. And the ad of RCL states network available in 10000 towns, but no mention of how many villages. So, how do we conclude that RCL is better or Airtel? Similar is the case with handsets - what one gets in LG, he may not get in Nokia and so on. If in a particular place, you get good network of any operator, then one can continue with that operator. As far as Chennai is concerned, he service is good enough everywhere except in some areas which are very deep inside. I would say, network is available in atleast 95% area. Just 70 to 80 kms away from Chennai, RCL is not present but BSNL, Airtel, Hutch and Aircel are going great guns. Only RCL and Tata are not available here for a radius of about 20 to 40 kms. Try your luck. I had RPG (before it became Aircel), then Skycell (before it became Airtel), then Airtel, then Hutch, then finally BSNL. Of all these, BSNL was a bit bad, in that calls used to drop badly although the signals were fully available. RCL from the beginning has been good and the voice clarity amazing. Initially I had lots of problems with RCL's billings etc, all these are now past. Currently not many issues - I guess I have become immune to the fact that RCL does resolve all billing disputes to my satisfaction always and hence I do not worry even if there are any major billing problems. CC has always been a major problem with all operators except RPG which had some exceptionally very good CC staff. They used to call back and resolve matters directly without asking for any supervisors permissions. Of course those days, there were only very few subscribers. Skycell was the worst, Hutch till some two years back had some very polite CC staff (it now clones RCL in sheer arrogance). Aircel was OK-OK and BSNL was not existent at all. Compared to all, RCL had good CC till MDA was there, once ADA took over, it has been a very, very steep fall. However the best thing with RCL is they reply and resolve almost everything when you email them. I will still continue with RCL unmindful of the lousy handsets so far. Hope once 3G kicks in, we will have something better than GSM. Thanks. -
In Chennai/TN, its better to call Vodafone as Vada Fone.

Welcome to the all new Nokia & RCL Club. Enjoy your stay here. Ha HA Ha. These things will happen now with greater frequency and you will not be able to do anything because Nokia has stopped mfg CDMA and will soon stop support also for their range of CDMA handsets once the warranty period is over. IMHO, sell off the mobile now and go in for some 'CLASSIC' use and throw model. Maybe 2 or 3 years down the line, only 'Classics' will be available as all major manufacturers will stop making CDMA altogether. Right now, I notice that Samsung is still active on CDMA front. Hope it remains in the forefront.

Bharti, Vodafone-essar Under Mrtpc Scanner
KumaarShah replied to Ramchi's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
The Thick skinned operators have openly stated that come what may, we will not go back on the tariffs. This sums up everything. They will get stronger if MRTPC or TRAI does not wield the stick soon. Hope the regulators/govt. do something soon. otherwise, all operators will gang up and become gangsters. -
There is no solution for this for all new LG handsets. AFAIK, only in 6230, there is an option to cancel call reject SMS altogether. Maybe I am wrong. Users of 6230 may please post here.

How To Stop Download Complete Popup Window?
KumaarShah replied to drali's topic in General Technical Discussion
^^^ Go to Tools-options-main tab and check the box next to "Close it when all downloads are finished" I think this will solve your problem. I am attaching a screenshot for you. Hope your problem is solved by this. Alternately, you can also set it off from Tools-Add-ons-Extensions-Download statusbar and there is one tab "options". Click on that and come down to Features. There is an option 'Show download complete' which is by default off, however you may have kept it on. Uncheck this and your problem will be solved. Again a screenshot for you: - Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. No Need to uninstall any add-ons, AFAIK. -
If both networks are always active as shown in their TV ads, then IMHO, this is definitely a better phone than Samsung Duo. Cannot comment on UI and other features (or lack of it), though.

How To Make Call Confrence In Reliance Prepaid Conection
KumaarShah replied to jangirkailash's topic in Technical / OS related
^^^ Good method. Maybe it works in some regions only. I have enabled CW on all prepaid mobiles, but CC is not working, maybe I have not used it properly. I will try as per your method and then report here. Officially, RCL has banned all these user friendly features on RIM prepaid. This is what I was referring to. Nice of you to post a detailed method to use CC. BTW, can you also please check if CD (call divert) is working on prepaid? I want this feature to work on my FWPs when I migrate them to prepaids. -

How To Make Call Confrence In Reliance Prepaid Conection
KumaarShah replied to jangirkailash's topic in Technical / OS related
AFAIK, not possible at all on RCL. Stop dreaming, RCL has disconnected all user friendly features for prepaids. -
Hope it does not become a dim wit scheme of TRAI. Maybe the babus have been bought out by the tele marketeers. HA HA HA
-
Not possible with Nokia and RCL at all. Stop dreaming, friends.
-
it now re-directs to http://blackberry.reliancemobile.com/html/index.htm. Fairly informative site for Blackberry on Reliance. However I am confused whether the BB works on RCL's CDMA network or on RCL's GSM network or both???? Is it a dual mode mobile??

How To Stop Download Complete Popup Window?
KumaarShah replied to drali's topic in General Technical Discussion
R U Using FF or IE? In FF you may have added an add-on and this may pop up the download complete window. Check the settings in FF and see if you can disable this. I will also try and let you know. -
There are people who do not want RWorld at all and you are one against them. Congrats to you, man. Anyway, techies here will be able to help you out.
