Both Tata and Hutch remain active connections always or you have to restart to get one active connection? I mean if you are talking on Tata line and you get another call on your Hutch number, can you hold the Tata number and talk on your Hutch number?
-
When I had this handset, I was unable to use any data cable - either serial or USB. Of course both of these were purchased by me from ebay.in. But these cables were working on my 350 R and also on my 6230. Try your luck, it may work for you. If it does not work, there is no replacement from ebay.in. If money is not a constraint, try to buy from LG ASC. Are you going to use this cable for RConnect or just for PCSync? If it is just for the latter, then try ebay.in, because if you want to use RConnect on a daily basis, then a good cable is required.

Tata Indicom Launches Dual Sim Phone
KumaarShah replied to geniusoid's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Any day, both connections remaining active would be preferable rather than pressing the down key and selecting networks. This is something akin to the dual SIM connection which is available for maybe Rs 50 onwards, wherein you insert two SIMs and then rotate the connections by switching on and off your mobile. Instead it is better to carry two mobiles. Sadiqbhai's dual mode phone supports both active connections and one can hold RIM while taking another call on your Hutch number or maybe you can initiate a conference also this way. (not too sure, though) So friends, search for a phone which offers both active connections rather than a phone supporting only one active connection. Technology has advanced a lot now so why go back to the old days. -
Redressal Of Consumer Grievances And Consumer Protection In Telecommunications
KumaarShah replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
^^^ Thanks Pankaj, for the clarification. I mis-thought and mis-read it as if Amit Jain (though nothing against him at all) came across as a "popular figure" in the pdf file. Anyway Hetal Patel is definitely an star-icon on our RW and he has definitely brought about a sea-change here. Thanks. -

I see Hetal Patel only on page 26 and not Amit Jain. Have I missed out something? Probably the adobe reader allots page numbers differently on each system? Thanks -
Verizon Wireless Adds 1.6 Million Customers Verizon Wireless Adds 1.6 Million Customers Verizon Communications Inc. on Monday reported second-quarter earnings that rose 4.5 percent from a year ago, mainly due to its successful cell phone division. The results met analysts’ expectations. Verizon, the country’s second largest telecommunications company, earned $1.68 billion, or 58 cents per share, in the March to June period, up from $1.61 billion, or 55 cents per share, in the same quarter last year. Last year’s figure included the earnings from a number of business that have since been sold or spun-off, including the high-margin Yellow Pages business. Excluding those businesses, earnings in last year’s second quarter were 43 cents per share. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial were expecting earnings of 58 cents a share in the most recent quarter. Revenue came to $23.3 billion, up 6.3 percent from $21.9 billion a year ago. Verizon shares were up 45 cents at $42.45 in premarket trading. Meanwhile, Verizon Wireless said Monday it has agreed to buy Rural Cellular Corp., which provides cell phone service in 15 states under the Unicel brand, for $757 million, or $45 per share. Rural Cellular, based in Alexandria, Minn., has 716,000 subscribers. Some of them use phones with the same technology that Verizon Wireless uses, called CDMA, while others use GSM phones compatible with AT&T’s and T-Mobile USA’s networks. Verizon Wireless said it plans to convert the GSM subscribers to CDMA service, but will maintain the GSM network for roaming by subscribers of other carriers. Verizon is taking on about $1.9 billion in debt along with the acquisition, but said it expected the acquisition to save it $1 billion in roaming fees and operations expenses. Verizon Wireless added 1.6 million new customers in the second quarter, but lost 300,000 through the bankruptcy of Amp’d Mobile, which bought wholesale access to Verizon Wireless’ network and resold it. Verizon Wireless ended the quarter with 62.1 million subscribers,… Well, RCL is trying to do the reverse - if allowed of course.

Nokia 6275 Worst Experienced Handset Now Gets Support From Bl -5c
KumaarShah replied to jovial_mann's topic in Nokia
The following is an extract from the emails I exchanged with Nokia Care in August 2006 : - Dear Mr. Shah, Thank you for emailing Nokia Care. This e-mail is in reference to your enquiry regarding Nokia 6265. We appreciate the time spent by you in reverting with your valuable feedback and we are glad that you are happy with the performance of this Nokia phone model. Please be assured that your feedback is valued and we endeavour to address any suggestion that may be raised by our customers. We have forwarded your suggstion pertaining to the availability of the support page for Nokia 6265, to our Customer Feedback Division for their due consideration. Any update in this regard will be posted on our web site. However, in the meanwhile, we suggest you to visit the below mentioned web link: http://www.nokia-asia.com/nokia/0,,85710,00.html Further, as per your corespondence, we understand that you are using the 'fast charger' ACP- 12E apart from AC-3E charger, for managing the power in your mobile phone. You may kindly note that though the ACP-12E charges your phone faster, there would not be any change in the stand by or talk time of your mobile phone. Kindly note that, the talk time for the phone is 3.8 - 4 hours . The standby time for the phone is upto 264-360 hours. Variation in operation times may occur depending on RUIM (Removeable User Interface Module), network and usage settings, usage style and environments. Use of FM radio and integrated hands-free will affect talktime and standby. A new battery's full performance is achieved only after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles. The battery needs to be charged regularly. We recommend that you always charge the battery when it has been completely discharged. You need to charge the battery until you get a message 'Battery Full'. Battery talktime and standby times are estimates only and depend on network configuration, signal strength, features used, battery age and condition, charging practices, temperatures to which battery is exposed, whether use is in digital mode (or analog mode, if any), and many other factors. Please note that the amount of time a phone is used for calls will affect its standby time. Likewise, the amount of time that the phone is turned on and in standby mode will affect its talk time. Further, if you are facing a concern with the optimal performance of the power management in your mobile phone, we request you to take your phone to the nearest Nokia Authorised Service Centre. Our technicians will assist you in the best possible way. We recommend you to take along the proof of purchase/receipt while visiting the Nokia Authorised Service Centre. Your phone would be repaired under warranty if it meets all the warranty guidelines. For location of an Authorised Service Centre nearest to you, kindly access the following web link: http://www.nokia.co.in/nokia/0,,45554,00.html Before submitting your phone at the Service Centre, you may kindly take a backup of the phone contacts data to the SIM card. If the phone supports memory card, take a back up of contacts, messages, images, clips, etc. on to the memory card or on to the PC. Back up can be taken, provided the phone is in Power ON condition. The technicians at the Nokia Authorised Service Centre and Nokia India would not be responsible for the loss of data during the repair process. As you have also mentioned that you are looking to ensure that dust particles do not enter your mobile phone, we suggest you to take the requisite care of your mobile phone as you would for an electronic product to ensure its optimal performance. You may kindly note that Nokia does not recommend the use of a third party application in your mobile phone as it may affect the optimal performance of your mobile phone. However, in order to check for available and compatible applications, we suggest you to seek the due assistance from your network operator in browsing the recommended WAP (Wireless Access Protocol) web sites. You cal also visit the below mentioned web link to check for the same: http://ap.mobile.nokia.com Kindly be informed that Nokia 6265 does have an 'in call' timer feature and messages can be saved only in phone memory or RUIM memory. For further enquiries, please feel free to contact our Technical Support Executives at 30303838 or 1800-425-3388 between the hours of 6:00am and 12:00 midnight, seven days a week. For online support, visit "Have a question? Ask Nokia" at www.nokia.co.in. You may also find answers to your queries at www.nokia.co.in/support. We reassure you of our continuous support. Please help us improve our services by clicking on the following link: https://digiumenterprise.com/answer/?sid=42...mp;chk=EPHPXYH6 Kind regards, Ravilochan Vasuki Nokia Care -------Original Message-------- From: "ext Kumaar Shah " To: NokiaCare CC: Sent: Thursday, August 31, 2006 6:03:49 PM Subject: Nokia 6265 CDMA Dear Sirs, I have purchased the above model 6265 from Reliance on 1st Aug 2006 and have been using it for the last one month now. I am extremely satisfied with the performance of this phone, though the support for this phone is still unavailable on your nokia.co.in WebPages. Using the default charger AC-3E provided with this phone, the charging time is about 31/2 to 4 hours and the talktime is about maximum 90 to 100 minutes. Now if I use the ACP-12E charger (original Nokia) and the adapter provided with this phone, the charging time is reduced to about max. 80 to 90 minutes and the talktime also increases marginally to about 100 to 115 minutes. Now, my query is what is the effect of using the default charger and the effect if I use the ACP12E charger? Will there be any change in the performance or life of the battery considering that ACP12E is a fast charger? I charge my phone only when the phone indicates me by beeps of "Low Battery" and I charge it till the phone indicates "Battery Full" I would have appreciated if there was some audible beeps when the charging is complete. Another problem that has been reported is of dust particles inside the display. Although till date, I do not seem to notice the dust particles on my phone, I am afraid that this problem will creep up eventually. I would like to know the preventive steps to be taken to prevent this from happening. Since this is a 3rd edition Series 40 phone and which supports 3rd party software's, I would like to know if any software's are available for the following: - a. Call log register logging details of all calls including call durations of each and every call. b. SMS deferred sending - meaning if I want the SMS delivery to be delayed by 30 mts, 60 mts,120 mts, 1 day, 2 days, 1 week and so on. c. Any SW for increasing the length of the SMS from the default 160 characters. d. any SW to transfer the SMS to the memory card or to increase the message storage capacity from the default maximum, measly 70 to 80 SMS storage capacity. It is indeed a pity that such a high-end phone has this measly SMS Storage. Expecting your early and favourable replies to the above queries. Thanks Kumaar Shah I trust the above exchange of emails will clear the air on battery charging times etc. Thanks. -
@Mr. Vista, Now I also have started receiving blank calls from '09372838249'. No sound at all and then the call disconnects. When I called back, the announcement says,' please check the number you have dialled' I got calls from this number on my 2 FWPs and also on my RIM. So, really we all must call India TV or AajTak or NDTV or some high profile TV News channels and get some free publicity for us in the bargain also. And yes, since the news channels telecast the same news umpteen number of times, just imagine the free publicity. Ha HA hA ha HA.

Gsm Phone With Coversation Recording
KumaarShah replied to kshah's topic in General Technical Discussion
All the new generation LG which have external memory card support, supports Voice Recording. 6230, 6250, etc are some of the sets supporting voice recording while in conversation. The UI is pretty good in LG sets. Do you want to only use the set for recording and not for anything else? Then once you set -up the voice recording feature, it will be a breeze. I do not have any LG set currently and hence I cannot guide you step-by-step. Reg. data syncronisation, LG was always weak and is still weak. IMHO, this feature requires a LG Engineer to operate it. Either the data cable is faulty or the handset is faulty and if both are OK, then maybe your computer is faulty. If all three are OK, then maybe some fault lies in us that we bought LG. These are my experiences, others opinion may differ. Thanks. -
^^^ You can also just go to LG ASC and ask them to transfer the phone book to your new 3000. The charge for this is Rs 85. You can also ask them to write the contacts onto your CD (you must take one with you) for free (included in Rs 85). Half the data cables do not work with many LG handsets, so don't waste time buying USB or Serial ones. Data cables are available aplenty on ebay.co.in. at cheap rates. I have a USB and also a serial cable, but neither works with 5340 or 3000. If you are not going to use the cable in future, don't waste money, time and energy on cables.

Reliance Communications To Start Providing Dual Band Handsets !
KumaarShah replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
^^^ That is preposterous, roaming charges while in home network? How can it be allowed at all? And TRAI / GOI / DOT has not barred anyone from offering dual technology phones. They cannot offer both technologies. This is what I understood from the earlier media reports, if I am not wrong. I think RCL is proposing to offer more as an international phone rather than a only India phone. Maybe this way the above roaming funda is valid. Does the above also imply that what dual network handset sadiq is selling currently, is illegal to use? -
Nokia 6275 Worst Experienced Handset Now Gets Support From Bl -5c
KumaarShah replied to jovial_mann's topic in Nokia
For my 6265, I use an ACP 11 charger (with the supplied conversion cable) which charges my battery in about 80 to 90 minutes. And it lasts slightly longer than with the default slow charger. These days, mobiles do not last for more than 2 years and the talk of slow chargers giving more battery life may not hold ice. Anyway who has the time to wait for 4 to 5 hours? Or maybe you can keep it on charge for the whole night? That way also the battery life will get wasted. So why not use the fast chargers? CDMA battery life is definitely poorer than the GSM battery life and hence one should not compare about this. And yes the network of RCL is far better than other operators' networks. -
AFAIK, I think what Honest says is true. It is RCLs fault and not the customers. In such a situation, RCL cannot send collection agents. And what amit jain says also may be true. It may be impossible to run up such a huge negative balance without the knowledge of RCL. However with RCL, anything is possible. @guptaet, you may if you so wish pay up the money or buy another GSK and use it on your existing number. Its upto you to decide. All the Best.

Not yet launched officially. Maybe by end of this month. But it will be sub 3k for sure.

PC-SYNC for RD 3000 is available in www.lgmobiles.com. Please click the link for CDMA phones-specs and sync progs. It is available there.

This is reg. replacement RUIM and not new RUIM. I was told by WW that a replacement RUIM is available for rs 100. They will take back the old RUIM and transfer the number to the new ruim.

How To Switch Off Backlight While Listening To Songs?
KumaarShah replied to jmthakur's topic in Nokia
^^^ Sorry but I think I checked only the music player option and not the media player option as I was not aware that they are separate. I did not understand the difference between media player and music player and to me both seemed same, so I reported that the backlight switched off in 15 secs. Anyway, kudos to anuragz for pointing it out in a detailed way. -
