I have also noticed there is some extent of overbilling nowadays in RCL. Both in voice calls and also in RConnect. Some calls are being billed even for 1 sec. Earlier under MDA, all calls below 10 secs were free, but nowadays I notice that calls for as low as 0.01 secs are being billed. I do not know how anyone can talk in 1 sec and hangup. Mind you these are not missed calls, they are to many onnet numbers also and also to some GSM numbers. Something fishy is happening again. Guys please check your bills thoroughly. Even for RConnect, I notice the usage shows extremely high number of minutes when in actuality, I ave used lesser minutes. No way to complain, as there are no details available with RCL on this issue. Their world class error free billing system never makes any error, you see. Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. P.S. I am seriously thinking of switching all my connections to TATA or to some other GSM.

@kk999, since you have already subscribed, please let us know your experience with this pack. Already one match has been completed (WI vs Pak), so you can post how good the pack is really. Can we subscribe or not? Is the score update facility through 1234123 in sachin's voice good enough? I mean is the info upto date or a bit slow and stale? what abt the sms's? are they regular on every run scored and wicket fall? what abt the rworld options?? please post your experiences as soon as possible. Thanks.

is it not clear? just specify which category you fall into. any employment relation with RCL / RIC / RADAG or not. If you could edit your poll post and include the above info, then maybe you will get better responses. I am not too sure though. I am just suggesting. Maybe you could try it out. I felt initially, it was very vague. Later on only I caught it. Thanks

^^^ The above is valid only for local and intracircle sms. If Nilay wants to send intercircle sms, then dapo only is good for him as his req. is around 1000 SMS per day. By the way, what is the asking rate for dapo plan nowadays?

^^^ got it now, it was unclear earlier. anyway thanks

Reliance Communications ties up with BSNL for Toll-Free Services
KumaarShah replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
I think Airtel has already got this facility activated. Poor RCL is still limping after so much fanfare in announcing this facility. Their techies are still yawning, then they will fall asleep and maybe after 6 months or so, they will try to wake up and by then they will forgotten the matter and ask your advise on this. -
Sms Delivered Multiple Times To Airtel
KumaarShah replied to bsevishal's topic in Technical / OS related
Does it mean while sending or receiving. I mean can a TATA 6275 receive LMS in one single sms or in multiples of 160 characters? Or are you referring to sending LMS as one single sms? -

Seems no one has any idea about the above, raccoon. Try asking someone locally who has a 6275 with TATA connection. I know it is like finding a needle in a haystack. But then thats the way it is. Hope we get the answers. Thanks -
So it all boils down to "LET THE BUYER BEWARE" sort of thing. If he does not know the prices, RCL outlets can loot him at MRP rates?? Is it not business ethics that RCL outlets should sell at the lowest prices only and not at the MRP prices?? Why are handsets available elsewhere at lower rates than in the RCL outlets?? I know that dealers elsewhere are at full liberty to sell at prices lower than MRP but then what is the value of RCL outlets if they sell at MRP or higher than elsewhere? Ideally it should be the other way around - lowest prices at RCL outlets and maybe slightly higher prices elsewhere. Anything is possible with RCL nowadays. I also know that there will be no answers for my queries, but then business ethics also plays a role. Hope someone from RCL is reading this and also hope they take corrective action on this. Thanks

^^^ Sometimes the USB cable is at fault. Try connecting with another USB cable. If it still does not connect, then maybe the fault lies elsewhere. Maybe you can also try connecting the data cable direct to the USB port on your computer or maybe try connecting the data cable to the USB cable which is connected to the USB port. Hope this will work for you.

^^^ # Games, Videos, Wallpapers, Ringtones, Sachin Diaries, Greetings, Exciting Contests & much more Are the above also full free or chargeable. CC does not know as usual, the full details.
-
It is very much there, I checked with CC just now. And the info on Cricket scores etc is through a call to 1234 123 which will be free. CC told me that SMS alerts will be as usual chargeable at Rs 3 per SMS. The poor fellow did not know when I asked him whether RCL would send SMS alerts on each run scored or on wicket fall. No one knows in CC. Better to subscribe and find out at the end of the two months how much RCL has fooled and cheated us by false promises. RCL can and is very very capable of such things by altering the terms & conditions to their advantage always without even bothering to inform customers properly. Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
-
great idea, hp. but i dont want to earn like RCL by fooling and cheating others.
-
The SMS sent to 1234 for CRI or SCO is still chargeable at the rate of Rs 3 per SMS. This also should have been included in this pack. However we have to access RMW to use this pack and to use RMW, we have to pay network usage charges of 10p per 10kb. All in all a good pack for cricket lovers, considering Hutch is charging Rs 49 per month for cricket trivia, stats, and SMS alerts for the WC 2007. Dont know about Airtel and others as yet. Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

I will definitely not recommend anyone to RCL now.

what exactly are you asking us to vote about?

Sms Delivered Multiple Times To Airtel
KumaarShah replied to bsevishal's topic in Technical / OS related
@bsevishal, If you have a RUIM enabled phone, maybe you can take a TATA Indicom connection. Here you will get 3000 local and national SMSs free for Rs 100 with any postpaid plan. Maybe this will solve your problem if this is really RCLs doing and not Airtels. As told in the earlier posts, you cannot do anything about this and don't ever try to waste your time complaining to CC or CMO or emailing because the entire department right from the very top to the very bottom at RCL CC or CMO is now manned by nincompoops all the way. If you have the time and the energy, then go ahead and complain. After some time you will realise what I am saying is true. Try It. You might be lucky enough. I have stopped complaining to any level nowadays having learnt a very good lesson the very hard way. Cheeeeeeeeeeeers -
Sms Delivered Multiple Times To Airtel
KumaarShah replied to bsevishal's topic in Technical / OS related
Why do you worry when it is free for you? It happens not only with Airtel but also other service providers in Chennai. Some of my friends get irritated but when I told them it was not my fault, they understood it is the great RCL - thinking higher and better nowadays. Another possible reason could be you are re-sending the SMS as it would have failed. If this is so, your friend could receive multiple copies of the same SMS. And yes, there is nothing that could be done about this problem. Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. -
ring up *333 five times and get unlimited confusion for free.

Roaming is free on RW and not on RIM

Tata Tele bets big on CDMA, brand visibility to gain 20% market share TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ MONDAY, MARCH 05, 2007 03:23:50 AM] BANGALORE: Aiming at a subscriber base of 100 million by 2011, and garnering 20% marketshare, Tata Teleservices, the leading telecom operator, is betting on the CDMA technology and higher brand visibility to reach this target. Tata Teleservices, with presence in 20 circles and a subscriber base touching 18 million by the end of this fiscal, is looking at doubling it every year. Darryl Green, the CEO of Tata Teleservices, said it has already doubled its marketshare from 5 to 10% in the past one year. Tata Teleservices has been one of the later entrants into the telecom sector and placed its bets on the upcoming CDMA technology, though the adoption has been a wee bit slower when compared to GSM. Mr Green said that CDMA has matured as a technology and claimed that its numerous advantages will give it the edge over GSM in the future. This would be more applicazxble when India’s telecom scenario move into 3G regime and will see higher use of value added services through mobiles. Tata Teleservices is also geared up for an image makeover. The company plans to move from scheme-based advertising, that it has focussed on the past to technology-based advertising. “We plan to aggressively focus on our brand image. We want to tell consumers about the CDMA technology. Recently, Trai conducted a study on quality testing and Tata Teleservices emerged as a leader in 12 circles. Also, studies have shown that CDMA phones emit only 1/8th of the electromagnetic radiation that is emitted by GSM phones. Its these aspects that we plan to highlight through our new brand exercise,” added Mr Green. The company has always adopted the celebrity route to enhance its brand image and it included personalities from the world of cricket and films. Irfan Pathan, Saurav Ganguly, Ajay Devgan and Kajol have been endorsing the brand. While continuing with these brand ambassadors, Tata Tele has no plans of adding any new celebrities. The Tata Group has already lined up an investment of Rs 36,000 crore for the telecom sector. Tata Teleservices has invested Rs 3,000 crore in the current fiscal. Mr Green said it would continue to invest in setting up the infrastructure as well as making a very strong rural foray. Link Courtesy: Economic Times.

I dont think RCL will take tips from here and based on that improve their services. To them, nowadays, let the customers go to hell, we want our ARPUs to sky-rocket. Let even Dhirubhais dream of calls costing lesser than postcards be damned. You know that postcards are only 0.25 p whereas calls to RIm are at 0.40p so postcards are still cheaper.

@kesav, BSNL has introduced Plan 180 with 50 free calls and after this only RCL introduced Plan 2030. Your comparison with Plan 225 is a bit too old. 2030 is useless, I feel.
