RCL will never ever match the tariffs of TATA because they are now having 30 million customers whereas TATA has only about 10 million, give or take some millions. Correct the figures if they are wrong. As hp has said, when TATA reaches this milestone, they also will start increasing the rates like Airtel, Idea, RCL etc. The logic is very simple - when you have 30 million customers, even a very small increase in rates or rentals will add upto your bottomlines dramatically. But in RCLs case, they want to increase the rates not in small steps but in a very huge jump and show highest ARPUs in the industry. Perhaps ADA also wants to sell out in a year or two. Having seen mind-boggling valuations of Hutch, ADA also will sell out one day in the near future. Who is worried about customers - only the ARPUs matter.

Buy Nokia 6275 instead of LG Chocolate. Both are almost same priced.

^^^ Thanks petar for the info. Lets hope that the prices come down soon enough. And I presume that this phone is not RUIM enabled so it will not work on RCL.
-
^^^ petar, what you are referring to is dual GSM and what I asked was about the GSM-CDMA one the model number of which is 768 (post #5) Anyway, I have got the indication as posted by you above. 30 to 35K is too pricey, what say????

I also want to sell my 6265 with a 1GB kingston miniSD card. My 6265 also is around 7 months old in very good condition. I also want to opt out of Reliance and go in for GSM now. There is no problem with my handset. I have loaded many songs, sw, games, applications etc on my miniSD card. If necessary, the card can be formatted while selling. I have stuck a 3M scratch gard on it and the condition of the phone is very good. I have used it very sparingly. There is still 5 months mfr. warranty available. I am based in Chennai and if anyone wants my DAPO number also, I will give it. What is the price for DAPO, I am not aware right now. Replies preferably by PM or through RW email. @schumi, nice to see here after a very long time, but not nice to know that you want to sell the very set for which you were so desperately waiting to launch. are you quitting RCL like I propose to do?

Pls Tell How To Put Mp3 Songs In Lg Rd8000
KumaarShah replied to omeshmidha's topic in Ringtones / Wallpapers / Themes / Applications / Games
Welcome to the new RCL - Think Higher, better, later and never. Wait patiently-they will reply. as this is a new model, they are themselves not aware how things work. Maybe in a few months, things will work properly. Ha ha -
Ask for an unprovisioned handset. That is the correct term for the WW pople to understand that you need a hs wo number. You will also have to buy a HCC to transfer the number to the new handset. I dont know if Classic supports RUIM, If it does, then you will also have to buy a blank RUIM. Thanks

^^^ Absolutely agree with raccoon. Airtel is offering in Chennai some Motorola colour mobile at Rs 1999 with 2 years incoming free and Rs 1999 worth talktime also. The validity of the free TT and the call charges I do not know. This is what I saw on a hoarding in Chennai. It is true that RCL now no longers holds any charm for us, because their call charges are now higher than the competition and their services are becoming more and more horrible. In case one does not mind a number change, he should go ahead and go GSM. Handsets are far far better and also operators can be changed at will unlike the sole wedding to RCL. GSM now offers more competitive schemes and yes the call rates are definitely better than RCL. RCL is now solely banking on ONNET packs. Once they remove this, no one will even sniff at them leave alone touch them. Their discrimination of existing customers vis-a-vis new customers in respect of better schemes will definitely weigh on the minds of older customers and when the opportunity presents, they will ditch RCL. And yes, the price of 3470 as told me by the always great CC is Rs 2300 with no offers of free TT or validity. This is an unprovisioned price - meaning you have to use HCC or GSK.

AFAIK, i dont think its possible for LG phones.

Vodafone bags Hutch for US$ 19.3 Billion !
KumaarShah replied to sanket55555's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
So, what will happen next? Will it be back to Hutch and not to Vodafone? Will ADA again try to take over Hutch? Questions, questions and questions only. No solutions in sight. -
ask CC or email to corporatecenter.

Is it 12345? or 00000? or 99999? Try the above one may work.

KumaarShah replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Thanks hpnasik, But there is no response or even acknowledgement from trai@del2.vsnl.net.in. Anyway, i will keep trying or is it TRAI'ing??? -
So now it is certain that our Chocolate is equivalent to Vx8000 ---->>> RD8000. This model has no external memory, limited BT, etc. Any idea what's the price?

Roaming Charges Are Set To Fall By February 2007
KumaarShah replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
This is most absurd. RCL is trying to loot even more now. Somebody should give them the stick now. How can they violate TRAI's recommendations??? Are these rates applicable for both post and prepaid or only for prepaid? It is not very clear from their website about this. Probably it is for both. One never knows with RCL now. The solution is only as what I have stated earlier in post # 39. Even the CC are suggesting this openly now. So it appears that RCL's strategy is to maximise cash any way they can. Forum members may please check with CC again if this is actually possible. RCL can anytime stop the usage while roaming of the calling cards. -
Roaming Charges Are Set To Fall By February 2007
KumaarShah replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
@puneet, all is not lost. You can activate the roaming pack at rs 99/month and pay Re0.30 pm for i/c calls. For o/g, you can use the calling cards which have rates of rs 1.50, Rs 1.25 and Re 1 for the 115/225/675 cards. But even this way, your outgo on roaming charges will more than double. Let us all start a mass exodus movement from Reliance. Reliance is a sheer waste from now on. No new customer will enter their postpaid segment anymore with their lousy looking LG, classic, kyocera, nokias etc. and their new policies which change every week. One after the other, they are removing or making it very costly for us to remain with them. Let them remove their ONP also and then we will all switch over to Vodafone. Atleast we will have the consolation of having world class customer services. What say???? -
So folks, which is the real Chocolate phone - the one shown by munnabhai or the RD 8000 one???
-
munnabhai, it looks damn sexy and beautiful.
