Hi Friends, My problem has been sorted out. The problem was in the display properties only as rightly pointed out by Tanveer and Puneet earlier. In my computer system, the display settings were set to a higher DPI setting and hence the right side was cropped off. I reset that to normal size and now my problem has been sorted out. The disp. Res. has to be 1024 x 768 and not anything lower. I tried out all combinations. One more thing with this disp. res. is that only on restrting the comp. the settings take effect. Even if you have set your system to apply settings without restarting the computer. I tested the SW and it works amazingly fine. Only problem is it takes some time to send the SMS and till such time, we have to remain connected. Maybe some settings are required here to speeden up things. @hpnasik, thanks for your inputs. 1. How many recipients can we include in the mobile number list? 2. Can the SMS character count be increased to atleast 160 if not more? 3. How about importing the SMSs from our mobiles? 4. Similarly, how about importing the phone book also? 5. If we do not want to send a SMS to anyone after putting it in Queue, how to do that? I notice that if you use the delete key on the keyboard, the number and the record is deleted but when we restart HPSMS SErver again, the whole list comes back again. are you aware of this? A cancel SMS feature should be incorporated. Thanks once again all for the help.

^^^ Now there is no error. I have done everything as you have advised. My phone has been detected, selected in the top left pane, etc. Now I went to the SMS tab, went to the manual tab, typed my own number, typed out a message. Now where is the "send to queue' radio button? I am unable to see it. My display resolution is set to 1024 x 768 True Color, I tried changing that also to 800 x 600 and also to 640 x 480. But the Send to Queue radio button is missing. Where is it? Now what to do? Thanks, Puneet for your efforts.

^^^ thanks puneet for your instant help. I tried resetting the date formats. Do we need to uninstall dotnetfx, HP-SMS Server and then reinstal both these? I have winXPProSP2 on my system. So MDAC2.7 may already be installed. Ok, if we do the unins and reins and then how do we use the SW? the options are not very clear. There is no help menu. I mean how do we send or receive SMSs etc. Thanks once again

Hi Hetal, Thanks for your wonderful SW and your efforts. I am having 6265 and also a CA 53 cable. I also got the same error as Puneet. What is MDAC2.7 and above? On your webpage link that you have given here, there are two links which download the same file 22.4MB (dotnetfx) and also your file (HP-SMS server.msi) It would be better for us novices if geeks like you could give some more details on using your SW. Also how to use BlueSoleil Sw with your SW? Thanks

Unfortunately, Reliance and Nokia have ganged up and blocked this feature. So you will not be able to use PCSuite for sending SMS thro PC. In case, you get any solutions, please email me khs_2909@yahoo.co.in. Thanks @ashoksoft, any solutions to this problem?

I am not technically qualified to answer but from my experience, I tell you the following: - upgrade RAM always helps. you can go in for an additional 256 MB RAM, this way your system will have 384MB RAM. My HW engr, told me to go in for a single RAM but I overruled him and put an additional 256 MB RAM and I have no regrets so far. Only thing is both the RAM have to match and complement each other. I have the same on my system and it works fine over the last one year without any problems so far. Tech. Qual. people on this forum may also give their comments. Thanks

There's nothing that can be done. Nokia will say that your usage and network conditions have to be optimum to get full advertised battery life. In any case, they have just washed their hands off all CDMA phones. Thats why, there is no support from them on their websites, phone helplines, SCs etc. enjoy till the going is good.

I complained to Nokia SC and got a replacement battery which ironically is poorer than the original battery. It is apparent that TT and StandbyTime for this 6265 model will not last as promised. I get TT of about 90 to 100 mts only and the StandbyTime is max about 12 hours only. I strongly suspect the strong powerful display of this phone to be the battery guzzler. Nokia should allow backlight to be set to off on this phone. The min. time of 15 secs on this phone eats up battery life a lot. If you send SMS more than 15 to 20 per day to various dist. lists also, the battery life is compromised drastically. Try to use the phone for only voice calls and see if the battery lasts longer. I am unable to use it only for voice calls. I send about 50 SMSs to about 8 dist. lists and use the phone for voice calls for about 40 to 60 minutes max. per day. my battery is dead by about 4 or 5 PM every day. Is there any apparatus whereby we can charge only a battery? like the LG 2030 charger on which only the battery can be charged separately.

1800 series still not working from any Reliance phone or mobile. HL says it will take some time maybe a week or two. Another long wait or wot?

It is available in mumbai for Rs 30 per DVD in Andheri. Forgot the name of the shop. Its a chain of shops selling from anything to anything. They call their shops XYZ-1, XYZ-2, XYZ-3 and so on.Try it there. No further ideas on the user ease as I do not have any PS. other members could help out.

We can only dream about such offers. Rel will never offer such sops to us. They will only offer us ONNET packs and we have to be happy with that. They cannot afford to give us more such sops, you see. They want to show an ARPU of atleast Rs. 500 to 600 if not more for their IPO to show a tremendous oversubscription. Let us dream and hopefully one day, Rel may decide to give such sops.

Thats a true One India offer, but STD to other networks may be costly. In any case, really an awesome offer. Will it be introduced all over India or only for Kerala to grab marketshare?
