Another way out would be to get a Nokia phone any model and set your profiles to receive incoming calls only from known groups or numbers. This would be assuming that you can invest in another handset.

Happy Diwali and a very prosperous New Year to all fellow RIMWEBians and their families.
-
so what is the costing for this service? any idea and how good is this new Mobi Radio - how many channels? etc etc
-
the tieup may be only for existing handsets and not for any new models. Nokia has exited the CDMA business, there is no coming back again to CDMA.
-
great specs, man. good find. will it work on our great Reliance? enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
-
ha ha ha , welcome to the new radag. Think better, think bigger. jokes apart, i think the freebies are quite attractive for Rel. Comm. Subcribers and Rel.Life Ins. etc, In short if any one uses any services of RADAG, then this is the card to go in for.

JAi ho Reliance ki, yahan aisa kuch nahin hota. ya hota hai???? ha ha ha just joking. -
Great Man, Keep It Up. Absolutely fantabulous. So when are you planning to dissect other models?

Rs 100 cr target is for revenues from RWorld usage for Reliance. Someone in this forum had earlier stated this and I just repeated it.

MASTER TUTORIAL: Make Your Windows XP Super Fast !
KumaarShah replied to Vishal Gupta's topic in General Technical Discussion
@ vishal, The above tweaks are applicable for WinXP Pro or WinXP Home? I am using WinXP Pro. Is there any way to go back if after tweaking as above, one wants to go back? Thanks in Advance. -
@kushal mehta, Earlier when we used to email to the Chairman's Office (CMO) they used to call us and say they are from CMO. Nowadays with the abolition of the CMO, they do still call us but they now say they are calling from Reliance Mumbai. Hope it is clear to you now.

Yes, Plan 225 is available on FWPs also. Plan 299 has local mobile calling at Rs 1 for 3 mts while Plan 225 has local mobile calls at Rs 1 for 1 mt with 25 free calls. All other call charges are the same. You can also enquire with CC for more info.

@abhay, Always mate and as the news come in, I will try to post here. In the meantime, ask anything you want to know and I will give you the info you require. You can also visit aircel.com for further info.

Yes it is only for landlines and not cellone or excel. Secondly at Rs 1 for 3 mts for local calls, it remains whether it is only for onnet or even offnet and whether this tariff will be applicable for calls to any operator - even mobiles. If this is correct, then this is the perfect OneIndia plan at Rs 1 per mt for STD calls and Rs 1 per 3 mts for all local calls. Lets hope Reliance comes up with something better than this. Maybe they will just match the tariffs after some time. Ever since ADA has taken over, they are very very slow in implementing tariff changes. eg. Plan 225 was implemented only after a full one and a half months. It took them so much time to digest the changes brought out by BSNL. Anyway, lets compliment BSNL for attempting to rectify their market share which has taken a solid beating in the last couple of years.

@munnamobile, sending by email to you. sent. check your email.

Mine are as follows: - LGRD2030 2 nos, both of Jan. 2003 vintage, working great but battery is a bit weak. LGRD5340 1 no. of Dec.'05 vintage. all ok except battery which drains within 3/4th of a day. Nokia 6265, 1 no. of Aug.'06 origin which I got as replacement for my defective LGRD6230 (which was used for about six months plus and which had voice clarity and signal sensitivity problems only) LGLSP 350R 2 nos both of June 2005 vintage, both have replaced main board atleast thrice. but working OK till now. Waiting for some real good PDAs and not the types of Kyocera 7135 or Konquest (avl. on Tata only) Hope Reliance brings out some new ones real soon. Thanks

Great Man, good job. I also agree with saikat mandal on a line on the tweaks in the registry. Anyway, great job, keep it up and give us some more tweaks to fasten up our machines. Thanks -
I got a friend working in Reliance, who said that, his friend got his 6265 software upgraded and the coloured pixels on the camera and the resetting of tones in all profiles, on change of themes, got fixed. I am still waiting for the exact version details... @gladson, any further news on the SW version upgrade? When is the new sw version coming and please update as soon as you get the details.

I got the same news about a month back and the date given was "very Shortly" So dont beleive these CC people at all. I have already highlighted earlier that the main problem for Reliance is that they cannot separate chargeable services under WAP for RWorld and non RWorld. Hence it had disabled WAP from 14.08.2006. They are still at loggerheads trying to solve this issue. I personally think they will come out with an unltd plan with rentals around Rs 249 or so. Just like the unltd RWorld rentals. So dont hope for Rs 50 or Rs 100 rentals. They cannot charge lower than this. They also have to reach the Rs 100 cr target for RWorld usage, you see. Jokes apart, they may not be able to develop billing software for RWorld and non RWorld usage separately, hence the most appropriate model would be unltd usage. Now this cannot be given at Rs 50 or Rs 100 and hence they will probably charge Rs 249 finally. Anyway these are my assumptions after prolonged discussions with people from Reliance Mumbai. Nowadays, there is no CMO and hence they call up saying they are from Reliance Mumbai. Thanks

What's The Logic Behind Lock-in Period?

What's The Logic Behind Lock-in Period?
KumaarShah replied to ani_meher's topic in Reliance Communications
Your assumption says you sell the new phone for rs 2000 w/o TT. Now why would anyone buy it at 2000 w/o TT when as you say for Rs 2500 they get with TT of Rs 2100???? You would not get more than Rs 1000 and hence what you have invested is what you may make and maybe you would incur a loss also. So there is no logic at all in this and the stupid or rather criminally inclined Reliance people definitely have some other ulterior motives. The customer's benefit is the last thing on their minds. What do you say??? -
Both Nokia and Reliance have taken us for a jolly good ride. There is no flexibility to use any make miniSD cards at all. You have to see which miniSd card will work on your phone and then buy it. God alone knows what to do if after matching, the miniSD card suddenly becomes "unformatted". No support is given by Nokia for 6265 and they have washed their hands off this model totally. The battery life is just about 70 to 90 minutes and nowhere near 3.8 to 4 hours as promised by their website. Nokia in an email advised me that this depends on various factors like network strength, user profiles, etc etc. As if Reliance's network strength is weak??? You never know, with Reliance though - all signal bars are shown but maybe the signal strength may be just 25 to 30 % only. I have been given a replacement battery as I complained about the poor performance. Lets see what is the performance of this new battery. Funnily, Nokia does not advise the proper method of charging a new battery unless you specifically ask them about it. The camera quality is not at all good if you use zoom. There are too many red or other coloured "spots" and you have to forcibly switch off zoom if you want decent photos or videos. Anyway, we all wanted something good to flash and so we have to bear with this. If something goes wrong, be prepared to wait for 15 to 20 to 30 to 40 days without a standby phone also, though technically one can remove the RUIM card and insert it into another RUIM enabled handset. But then how many such handsets are available? Why not Nokia and Reliance tie up and provide such standby services when both know the limitations of CDMA services. Thanks

Yes nothing beats NJ499 in rates at Re. 0.75 across India. No one else offers such rates, but yes by paying 25% more ie Re 1 pm, you have a wider choice of operators and monthly rentals at Rs 225 pm with Rs 25 worth free calls. This plan is being offered by almost all operators, even Reliance. And yes you can go in for some GSM routers to connect all GSM lines to an EPABX. I am not so tech qualified, you may ask the operators about this. Also keep us updated if you get any better deals, so that otheres may also benefit. Thanks
