AFAIK, only Nokia models support .jar files on Reliance and not LG or Samsung or any other phone supports .jar. Pl. checkup and re-post here. Thanks

great ones, and thanks

Thats interesting news. And hope the Service Provider is our great Reliance. But I would not be interested in the ad jingles for 30 to 45 secs. What about others?

what is your mobile model number?

I think Reliance will charge WAP access the same way Hutch does for GPRS access; ie Rs 49 pm rental plus Re.0.10 per 10kb data access charges. Or maybe they may bring out an unltd plan at Rs 249 pm rental (like the new RWorld plan or maybe even link it to that, of course for free; this way their ARPU will increase) There is no way they will charge lesser as they want to maximise ARPU by any means. Well some bloke from Reliance must definitely be reading all our posts and they are always awaiting an opportunity to charge more and more from us. So, why not we ourselves give them some suggestions via this post on the charges we are ready to pay for WAP access. I will be agreeable with schumi, to a Rs 25 pm rental for WAP access. Anything more is not acceptable. Thanks

New Look of Reliance Infocomm Website
KumaarShah replied to basant_jp's topic in Reliance Communications
Well the layout and the look has changed a bit and the font also has been reduced to make you wear spectacles early on in life. HA HA Ha -
Are they logging complaints? plcheck up. I dont think they take complaints nowadays. Just get a complaint number always. Note it down. But the pity is they will close the case quietly without informing you and then you will be left with the complaint number only. HA HA HA

@ganesh Much water (or is it sewage) has passed in the Buckingam Canal. (just joking, don't take seriously) You are probably not aware about the new messages stuck on the LGASC notice boards in Chennai nowadays. It is chargeable at Rs 75 plus 12.24% ST if the handset is not under warranty. If it is under warranty, then it is free. And yes, why not make hay while the sun shines???? After all, Reliance also is making huge money now, so why should LG be behind??? You see, the new handsets are priced so low, then where will the revenue come from? Agreed that this charge is justifiable, but the punch-line of "we are not responsible if the board goes defective" is too much to digest. It only proves their incompetence nowadays and also the fact that the components used nowadays are really of a very cheap quality. The new catch-line of ADAG says it all - "think bigger, think better" only for Reliance, let the customers be damned. So folks, get ready to junk Reliance and switch onto the GSM bandwagon as early as possible.

WoW, great work kshah. Nice lot of info and clarifications, you have provided. Keep us posted, when you get good PDAs. Thanks

Ha Ha Ha. This is the way our legal systems work. Anyway, nothing will dent these people's style of functioning anymore. @ munnamobile, one more instance of the great Reliance here.

I rangup HL and explained the WAP access problem. The CCE told me that this a handset problem and there is no network bar on the access. I do not know why the HL CCE are so ignorant that Reliance has disabled the WAP access for this great phone. And to top it, they want us to go to Nokia Service Center for something that Nokia cannot do anything about. Reliance has again f***ed up this great phone. The CCE repeatedly told me that this was handset problem only. I told her that if such was the case, only my phone would have this problem and I also told her that allover India, this problem is present. She in turn told me that no complaints have come for this problem so this is only a handset problem and not network problem. Saying this, she just disconnected the call. Reliance HL has really gone to the dogs. No manners whatsoever. It appears that Reliance has instructed their HL to talk only for about 3 minutes max. and then disconnect. @munnamobile, are you reading this? see the great Reliance and how they perform. I will keep you informed more on these problems. Hope you do not mind. You see, we are all crazy to talk bad about great Reliance.

Once again, Reliance has made us feel like beggars. Even I do not mind paying for WAP access. Let us hope for the best. We had been living in a dream world for the last one year, expecting the launch of this super hyped phone. So now lets do the same for WAP access also. Maybe, and hopefully Reliance will wake up a year or so later.

I dont think Reliance will offer WAP even on some payment basis. If yes, they would have allowed it on 6235, 6255 etc. by now.

"system Under Upgradation Forever"-reliance Cc
KumaarShah replied to schumi's topic in Technical / OS related
I fully agree with kepal on this. Hutch CC is miles ahead of Rel CC which just s**ks. Nowadays, Reliance CC do not accept or register complaints also on the pretext of "error free billing" systems and "error free networks". HA HA HA HA LOL LOL LOL LOL Reliance having error free billing and networks. HA HA HA HA. I almost fell off my chair, listening to the cocky CCE about this, error free nonsense. Reliance CC needs to learn from Hutch CC. They should not give the excuse "systems are under updation/upgradation" always. Once in a while it is ok, but always it is not good at all. Yes some or rather most of us RIMWEBians can definitely provide better CCE service than the stupid, idiotic Rel CCEs. Thanks -
Extremely great work, Tanveer. Keep it up. The SMS count after removing all the templates on my phone is about 105 or max.110 only. Now how to get back the oroginal templates??? The RUIM phone contacts memory is only 150 on my RUIM and not 250. Maybe this is something similar to the 8K,16K,32K SIM cards available for GSM. The WAP experience is really unique and great and the speeds are also commendable. Thanks

All You Ever Wanted To Know About 3g But Were Afraid To Ask

Dear, The SMS storage count on the super hyped 6265 is a measly 60 to 70 on the handset and 10 on the RUIM. Just imagine spending 17 grand and then not having enough memory for SMSs. Nokia and Reliance have joined hands together to F**K up this fone. As KOK has suggested earlier in this post, delete the templates and maybe the count will go upto 130???? I have deleted all the templates now and the Inbox is still not yet filled up though my SMS count is about 80 now. Will post on the exact count as and when my Inbox reports full. However, this 6265 is not SMS friendly as say a LGRD 6230. That was really good. Believe me. Maybe the new series of LMS LG mobiles all have the same easy user interface for SMS. And 6265 does not have LMS also.(only sending atleast as Reliance does not offer more than 160 character SMSs at all.) Hope you are satisfied. @schumi, 1. My RUIM has only 150 names capacity, how come yours has 250 names. Are you sure? If yes, then what should I do to get 100 more names capacity? what is the SMS count on the RUIM if your names storage capacity is 250? Is it 20 or more? 2. *3001#12345# will help those who want to change the network name from"Reliance" to any other of their choice. But the downside is that the Sleep light (blue blinking one) will not work. 3. And yes, the roaming triangle did not work when I was roaming outside my home circle today. And also the call duration timers showed only home calls timers and the roaming duration timers shows only 00.00.00 always in both received and dialled calls. I shall report and post here all that I experience as and when it happens. Thanks to all.

The battery life is really poor. I also called up Nokia helpline and was told to approach the service center for CDMA handsets. Not yet gone there, waiting for resolutions on this forum. @tanveer, Hope what you say is true reg. 5 to 6 recharges. Hope it will help my battery to stay longer. Currently it is getting over by maximum 4PM and I have to charge it again, wherever I am. The NHL told me that initially only the battery needs to be charged overnight and after that whenever the battery full message comes, remove from the charger. Someone please advise the correct procedure to charge batteries, I mean do we have to switch off the mobile while charging or do we keep it on and attend calls or make calls or SMS etc. What I do is - forward all calls to another reliance mobile and let the battery get fully charged. after that i deactivate the call forwards. I have charged the battery six to seven times from 1st Aug.'06 till date. Hope this 6265 battery picks up juice properly now atleast. I have not noticed any improvement in battery life over the last six days. Do Nokia models have any extra battery charger? I mean only the battery and not with the phone. Like in the good old LG RD 2030. Thanks and Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers

Folks, Even I have joined the super hyped 6265 bandwagon on 1st Aug.'06. The SMS count is only about 60 to 70 on the phone and 10 on the RUIM. Also, the contacts storable on the RUIM is only 150 and not 250 as reported by someone earlier. Reg. the SMS, I checked it up with Nokia helpline and they have confirmed that we can store only 60 to 70 on the phone and not more. It is irritating when the Inbox reports SMS memory as full. No facility to transfer SMS to SD card? Some one, please help. This is really bad on Reliance's part. Such a high end phone, being f***ed up like this. LG was better with 120 SMS and also LMS sending atleast, if not receiving. And in 6265, you cannot see the recipients number once you select a distribution list. Whereas in LG 6230, you could edit, add or remove some members after entering the list while sending. All in all, some features of Nokia are good, while some of LG are better. You cannot have all the features in one phone. So one has to be content with whatever one gets. The WAP browser is really neat with 6265 and since it is free (membership) for DAPO users, it is all the more good. (I hope it is full free for DAPO, pl. correct, if wrong) Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeers............

Reliance RUIM card for R-UIM slot enabled handsets
KumaarShah replied to abhi1kumbhat's topic in The Lounge
Reliance does not give RUIM separately. It gives these RUIM cards only with the purchase of RUIM enabled handsets. So to get a RUIM, you have to buy a Nokia 6265. Correct me if I am wrong. -

Evdo Technology Which Gives Upto 2.4mbps Connection
KumaarShah replied to city02's topic in Reliance Communications
Very Interesting technical jargon. Thanks a lot for your efforts. But for us laymen, please advise which is better - GSM or CDMA (Reliance only) And in your opinion, which way will Reliance finally go? -

From what I make out of the earlier posts, I understand that Reliance for once has decided to give the full version of the phone without anything stripped out. So, they are giving 64MB MiniSd card, BT, Video camera, etc etc for the price range of Rs 15500 to Rs 16200 (funny the same price range is applicable across all India - when actually it should be differential pricing). The 64MB is offered by Nokia by default and is not complimentary from Reliance. Also it has been mentioned in the Reliance Website that this phone has BT technology - so the Bangalore chap who expressed differential pricing for BT and wo B T may rest assure that this handset has BT. Also, it is confirmed that this phone is RUIM based and that a HCC can be used for transferring your existing number onto this set. If you want a new number, then a GSK can be used. So no fears of losing your unltd ONNET pack, now. For once, Reliance deserves wholesome praise for bringing out a full featured un-stripped phone. I only hope all the above is true and Reliance does not try out any dirty tricks.
