  1. Mobile-phone maker Sony Ericsson on Sunday unveiled a new smartphone specifically designed to play video games, called the Xperia Play. First PlayStation Certified phone packs 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and Adreno 205 GPU This smartphone has 4-inch capacitive multi-touch display that supports FWVGA 480x854 pixel resolution. Xperia PLAY s display slides out to reveal the action buttons, Directional Pad, Touch Pad and selection buttons. The phone also has two shoulder buttons. In short, the flat panel when slided out works as PlayStation controller. The corners are rounded. Under the chassis, the Xperia Play has 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with Adreno 205 GPU. This smartphone will come preloaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread which will carry the TimeScape UI on top of it. Sony promises basic 3D gameplay at 60 frames per second on the smartphone. The company has promised to launch 50 new game titles from 20 different content publishers were shown. The entire library of classics would be rolled out on weekly basis. However, we are a bit disappointed with the imaging powered by a mere 5.1-megapixel camera with autofocus which hopefully records 720p HD video by default. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, and Digital Compass. Since it runs Gingerbread, you'll be able turn Xperia Play into a mobile hotspot for connecting up to 5 Wi-Fi devices. Xperia Play would be introduced in GSM and CDMA versions for select markets. For GSM networks, Xperia Play will support Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and quad-band UMTS HSPA for faster and better telephony. Just like the other Xperia models, Play would be available in Black and White color options. Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play would be available in select markets from next month March. Pricing of the smartphone wasn't revealed at the launch. Whenever it hits the Indian shores, I presume it might be made available at a premium price above/around30,000. In the U.S., it will be available first with Verizon Wireless. Thanks
  2. Probably payments would be pouring in by tomorrow evening as NEFT takes a day to come... People were waiting for this to happen and this Fund raiser will give a chance for them only to experience easy programming using the tool.
  3. @parin I don't think so we need to put it manually as the sets would be registered with Reliance and we can do OTA prog using *228 which will push the A-KEY to the handset. Thanks
  4. Congrats to Hetal and Sadik Bhai!! Waiting for the details.. Thanks Saurabh
