Terminal Services On Windows 2000 Pro
deepu replied to Ashokjp's topic in General Technical Discussion
msrdpcli.exe is just the client for accessing another terminal server It will work even on Windows 95. Using terminal services a number of persons can access the server system and use it as their own desktop. The client need not be a very fast machine. Even a Pentium 100 will do. I have tried it with my P4 set up as a terminal server and an old P166 accessing it through LAN There is one ebook available by the name below. I cannot upload it due to the size Microsoft.Press.Microsoft.Windows.Server.2003.Terminal.Services.eBook-LiB.chm This is very informative. -
I too think that Reliance will not shift atleast in the near future!!!

Terminal Services On Windows 2000 Pro
deepu replied to Ashokjp's topic in General Technical Discussion
As far as I know its available in WIndows 2000 server edition only. But its better to try it with WIndows 2003 Standard edition. I have tried it with Windows 2003 and it works like a charm without any problems. There is Citrix metaframe also which is another s/w similar to terminal services. On Linux you have LTSP. visit www.ltsp.org -

Number Portability Implementation in India
deepu replied to niket's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
I think number portability may come only after the whole of India becomes single circle -
There are proxy servers which will cache the commonly accessed webpages. So when a client accesses that site, it will get the site from the cache and not from the internet. This will make it appear faster for the clients. Squid is one such proxy and runs on linux.

Anil Takes Over As Chairman Of Reliance Infocomm
deepu replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
I think its a good move by Anil. World over the need for power is growing day by day and is also going to become costlier. If he can tap unconventional power sources like Solar and Wind Power and also make it raliable. In the long run, it will provide better service and more stability of service to all the Reliance Customers. -
There are even weirder colleges than this. There are colleges which allow admission to both girls and guys but they have classes seperately for girls and guys that too on seperate times. And ofcourse girls have all lady staff and guys have all Gents staff. I will not name the college that has this facility

Are you sure that WindowsXP is on hdc1. This usually happens when there is a mismatch on this or if the boot loader of Windows XP is corrupt. Alternatively there is a way to put Linux option on WIndows XP boot menu. visit this link http://hacks.oreilly.com/pub/h/2337
