Hi, My epic 4g got drenched in rain. I came home and dried the mobile and kept it soaked in bowl full of dry rice. AFter that when i started the mobile, it went in download mode and back screen was red in color. It didnt got detected by the odin. After that I disassembled the mobile and cleaned all the parts. I saw some salt formation on a chip. Cleaned that chip properly and reassembled everything. Still the mobile doesnt get detected on the pc. Guys, upgraded my epic to 2.3 and used this custom ROM http://randomking.romgeeks.com/development/randomrom-2-3/ . I am getting a good battery backup with wifi on. Also flashed EH06 modem with this. Phone feels awesome.

Thanks rishisuri. I followed this procedure at xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963652. And its upgraded to EC05 smoothly. Had some hiccups with rooting, but its done now (link for rooting froyo on epic 4g http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770388)

Hi, From yesterday I am facing CDMA call drops in my samsung epic in bangalore location. Anybody facing the same issue?? I am not sure what is the problem but from 7 pm yesterday evening, I am not able to talk. The call connects, and then after 10 seconds, I get the CDMA: Call drop alert. I have tried in 3 different locations. Is this a known issue, any possible solutions. Kindly help Regards

"ro.build.fingerprint") == "sprint/SPH-D700/SPH-D700/SPH-D700:2.1-updat1/ECLAIR/DI18:user/release-keys" || file_getprop("/system/build.prop"."ro.build.fingerprint") == "sprint/SPH-D700/SPH-D700/SPH-D700:2.2.1/FROYO/DK28:user/release-keys" E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted I have clockwork recovery installed. Please let me know if I need to redownload the update.zip file?
