  3. ^^ @commonman Interesting info, I went to local computer shop and asked about pen drive pricing. His pricing : 8GB @350, 16GB@ 650 - Sandisk/Transcend or HP all are around these. I told about these pricing over online sellers. He is quite knowledgeable and kind of close to me, and he said that for pendrives buy from online, He also added that pendrives get them max. Rs 50 profit, i.e. online sellers are offering at a price, which they can't even get at.

  8. @viper_in_blood MTS invested more than Telenor, as MTS has basic 2G services + high speed 3G-EVDO network. Not only that Evdo rev B-phase II came first in the world from them. Also Russia Govt is one of the stake holders in Sistema. I don't think MTS will leave like Telenor.

Earlier I put a story on Telecomtalk on this anti-consumer policy on cdma data packs by Tata CDMA - http://telecomtalk.info/tata-docomo-cdma-mobile-data-packs-are-too-confusing/91154/ I jst need to know more from you guys what is the real condition, as I don't have cdma smartphone. With your feedback I can push Tata CDMA to offer straight forward EVDO activation on OMH RUIM.

  13. I guess these are for MTS smartphones only. As i know those 2GB@90 and 6GB@140 (in WB and Kol) can not be recharged on the MTS numbers activated on MTS MTag and Livewire smartphones.

  15. dnt know abt EVDO handsets. my experience with Indicom OMH RUIM on my ZTE AC2766: Network detected : EVDO tried with: 'internet' as username and password - getting username n password wrong error tried with: 'brewuser' as username and password - connection established 'wapuser' as username and password - connection established but both cases no page can be opened! I put a story on telecomtalk http://telecomtalk.info/tata-docomo-cdma-mobile-data-packs-are-too-confusing/91154/ after that they edited some parts, saying 3x is available on omh ruim+evdo phone, but tethering is at 1x.

  18. ^ the article also says that these towers may be only for rural and sub-urban roll out of 4G services, also RIL can rent them out. While in urban areas there are many towers from Indus, Viom, ATC, Bharti Infra, Reliance Infra etc etc. RIL will push all options!
  19. Tata Docomo website says evdo/3X speed is available on OMH RUIM if you use evdo handset. (data will not work on modems).

    If you compare Airtel 4G plans w.r.t. Airtel 3G plans. these plans are no doubt good. but device cost is high, coverage is poor, no backward compatibility of the devices, and post fUP 128kbps will keep many users at bay! Basically think this way, they got the spectrum at huge price, but few takers, means they can't earn enough to clear debts ! Ultimately 3G situation is bad for operators, as well as customers!
