  5. ^^ problem is CDMA players come up with a strategy to have a customer being his/her 2nd mobile connection, as a result they offer low cost handsets, say CDMA handset+lifetime validity+FRC @Rs 700 in total. As a result most CDMA users do not need data plans as these handsets are not data capable. So operators do not bring good data packs for some users who are using data enabled CDMA handsets. Now why cdma players are not aggressive ?

    @kapil you have points.. but Rajan ji likes to tell the fact that there are many users like me who are students and can not afford a smartphone more than 15K. And as data plans on CDMA platform is getting momentum (Reliance & MTS (Kolkata/WB) already launched data plans), there will be high demand of mid end and low end CDMA smartphones. As a MTS user in Kolkata I am getting awesome plans 2GB@90 & 6GB@140 on EVDO but can not use it on a good smartphone - only good CDMA smartphones are available officially in market - MTS MTag (528MHz)@5.5K and Samsung Pop (600 MHz)@8.5K and both are with out-dated specs. MEID registration is another problem as most sellers are not doing it for MTS. If you bring OMH RUIM based CDMA smartphones at around 10-12K it will be great deal for us. This is just a suggestion and more of a personal opinion. So please do not mind.

  11. 3. Dual tech players - Tata, Reliance invested a lot for 3G, and 3G did not take off properly till date. So on GSM their investments are more than CDMA and they are pushing GSM. Only hope with CDMA in India lies with MTS, and SC verdict cancelled their licenses too!

    @amitabh As I am new on Ubuntu, I will bug you... I have wallpaper gallery, which I arrange by modification of date, but the default image viewer shows all pics acc. to their names. suggest a good image viewer on ubuntu.

    3 years back when I was buying a digicam, the cam store guy (uncle) recommended me Nikon! Nikon is always better than Panasonic and most of the times better than canon!

    I can not able to connect to MTS internet using ZTE AC2766 on latest ubuntu. Sometime connection established but no data incoming or outgoing.!
