  1. On GSM handsets, manually network search reveals available networks. If there similar way to check CDMA networks? I am also looking for MDMA [http://www.nerve.org.za/mdma/] like software for CDMA modems and phones. Any help ?
  2. It seems no such software! (
  3. At this point I feel Pop has limitation of Android 2.2 and 600MHz processor. and no news of new CDMA android phones from Samsung or LG. So better grab MTag 3.1 (2.2/528MHz) @ 5.5K or less if you need android cdma urgently and use for 6 months till unlocking solution comes and then sell unlocked phone. Otherwise wait for sometime and see if anything comes! or upgrade the budget and buy Incredible 2 or similar world phones.
  4. Tata Indicom Diet 199 Plan

similar plans are available on DOCOMO GSM since the postpaid launch. ..
  5. MTS India has not rolled out in Orissa, HP, NE, Assam, J&K and Punjab...
  6. In October my brother bought a watch from timtara.com and it came within 7 days! But after that I did not try timtara.com Every online sellers have some issues, like I had with letsbuy - same issues were faced by Sougata also. Product received yet they sent me mails/sms that order cancelled!
  7. There are only two modems - Huawei EC306 and MTS AC2791 both offered in India and Indonesia. MTS offers both, while Tata sticks to Huawei only.
  8. With new data packs (though for Kolkata & WB) MTS is the best choice on CDMA. I do not understand why Reliance is not coming up with data packs like MTS. Yea it would be highly useful!
  9. Please Suggest OMH EVDO Handset Within Rs.5-7 K

yes that is network locked... but you have plan to use with MTS.
  10. MTS has a plan to offer Hight Speed data services all over the country, so I believe they will go for pan India 800MHz spectrum I also find that some operators in other parts of the globe have introduced LTE on 800MHz band.
  11. @parin bhai please make sure MEID registration done for MTS on your imported handsets....
  12. yea atleast on paper 3G operators offer 21Mbps for 2GB/Rs 750 while EVDO Rev A offers same tariff, so REVB price has to be same as this standard, users have to pay extra only for the device. 2ndly they must allow the revB users to recharge revA packs, like 3G users can use 2G packs.
  13. Some readers on telecomtalk commented that Videocon sent sms to them that services will be continued. I also using Videocon Kolkata for 1 month, but did not get any sms like that. May be Videocon will go for 6-7 circles - TN, Punjab, Mumbai, MH, Haryana, Gujarat, Kerala ?? Cheers has some subscribers in Delhi and Mumbai - may be they will stick to these 2 circles. There is high chance Etisalat will exit this venture and joins with Rcom. Loop is contented with mumbai only, Uninor and MTS are most fierce players on this upcoming 2G auction. S Tel did not roll out 3G services, as far as I know Shiva Group is a reputed one, and they fought to get pan India license on 2G which they stopped after their services was shelved by TRAI for some time on security grounds. May be they will stick to only 3 circles where they have 3G spectrum. Many people think AT&T, MTN and Orange will participate 2G auction, but my view is it is better to get 3G/4G spectrum and they might skip this one.
  14. Delhi, Kolkata and some other circles - but now all is messed up!
  15. I guess if this 2G mess is cleared MTS will roll out EVDO Rev B in other circles too. But they need spectrum in certain circles, where they reached a certain subscriber base and eligible to obtain another 1.25MHz spectrum, but still they did not get it. So spectrum crunch is there and that's why they can not upgrade to revB in most cities.
  16. I think MTS is selling its EVDO/HSD services under Vodafone brand name ........ >> MTS is paying for using Vodafone brand name T24 is more of royality program for Future Grp customers - free talktime given on tata docomo gsm network.
  17. Can any new company bid for 2G now say Moserbaer, Tulip, Oswal who also participated in 2008 give away?
  18. Are you looking for plans on BSNL CDMA or Reliance CDMA? AFAIK BSNL does not activate EVDO on voice enabled RUIM in Kolkata. 1X is activated and base tariff is 5p/100kB and on prepaid its Rs 350 for unlimited usage, on postpaid there are 2 plans - unlimited 250 with roam in the city and unlimited 350 for pan India roaming (not sure about Mumbai and Delhi roaming on MTNL 1x).
  19. I had talk with R-CDMA CC, they said per minute data plans are withdrawn, now 5p/10kB. And Net50 plan is now giving only 50MB instead of 50 Rs usage.
  20. @everyone from Kolkata Today I had talked with Reliance CC, they told that per minute internet pulse has been withdrawn. And all plans have 5p/10kB usage tariff with both Rworld & MDN No username & password. Anyhow with NET50 I am getting 50.000 MB exactly for Rs 5, which is good for emergency usage.
  21. Not sure about postpaid - here in kolkata most users are on prepaid. on speedtest I often get 1.8Mbps.. but with IDM downloading speed goes max 350kBps! on avg 150-200kBps ,,, but during evening hours - 5 to 8pm and during weekend specially saturday shows me kind of low speed that's around 80-100 kBps, may be due to high traffic in the network!
  22. Please suggest Dual SIM CDMA+GSM handset

Is it? on 3G/GSM it is 5GB for Rs 1000, and on CDMA-EVDO it is 10GB for Rs 1000. But if you are using lower data limit, say 1GB or 2GB - both are almost same - 2GB for Rs 750. As you are planning to use R-CDMA and till date R-cDMA has not come up with unified plans, better use GSM. On GPRS/EDGE plans - they are cheap.
  23. 1st you must have OMH RUIM 2nd send a sms to 51230 - 'VASACT HSD'
