It's not rumor, actually I am also getting it - GET JIO SIM option on MyJio app. Install myJio app from play store. Open it and download all Jio apps and then restart the phone. Connect the phone over WiFi if the option is not showed up on mobile data. Following the 'Get Jio SIM' Option, will give you a preview offer coupon. What does it mean? I think Tata must take care of EVDO in circles where they don't have 3G.

Believe me !DEA will rise for 4G in the upcoming auction. Vodafone will act as prudent and will tap for circles where they can see revenues. Videocon may be a MVNO piggybacking over Jio 4G.

As you said data coverage would be good and therefore your calls made over VoLTE or JioJoin like apps will have fewer issues. But I doubt these can replace CDMA's voice clarity.

@commonman My 1st sim was replaced. I think it was already patched and for 2-3 days data worked fine and then data was not working.

On my new Reliance 4G SIM, data connection is not established on mobile (RN3 and Gionee D1). I checked with my dongle - network connected by dialing *99# but no data transfer occurs. National roaming enabled on SIM TOOLKIT and I checked with both APN - rcomnet and smartnet. All are in vain. Any solution of it?

A source tells me that in 3-4 weeks Jio SIM might be open to all. Because many didn't buy lyf inspite of 3 months of unlimited data.

How to root the phone?

I did once and already received it. But still not sure to invest on LYF.

As I heard Rcom won't allow porting to those just migrated to 4G/GSM. You have to wait for 90days and then only you can jump to other operator.

For those data is not working: Open SIM TOOLKIT -> Roaming -> keep National 'on' And then use smarter or rcomnet as APN or use the default settings. Don't forget to make it default. Reboot your phone and if SIM fails to register to any network, manually select Reliance 3G, and make network mode HSPA/3G only. It would work.

405999 is the secure 3G network of Indian Air Force. What is DAPO? I am yet to get Reliance 4G signal in Kolkata and also to get post migration offers. Did anyone get the offer?

Locate any nearest Reliance store. 4G Sim is now available at Rs 26 as I have seen at Shyampukur Store. No documents are required!!

My first sim was from Barrackpore store, but it was replaced at Shyampukur branch to get GSM signal.

My new sim (reliance 4g) goes live 2 days back in Kolkata over 2G/3G. only incoming calls, texts worked fine but no outgoing can be made. But from today morning there is no network. Today I visited Shyampukur store, they told SIM is active, put the sim on their phone, manually registration to Reliance 2G/3G failed. Then they give me another new 4G SIM and told it will work after 5pm today. Well it's working now. The Reliance store was looking like a BSNL office - long queue, old people standing, agitated customers and chaos. Regarding data not working, they told it will take another 2 days and after 1,week 4G of RCom will be kickstarted. Then I can get post migration 10GB Data & all.

guys my Reliance 4G sim was working for last 2 days, though only incoming was working, no outgoing. My 4G sim latched to Reliance 3G only. There is no 4G from Reliance in Kolkata now. Manual search shows only Airtel and Jio 4G network in my place (Barrackpore). Incoming/text working, outgoing can not be checked due to low balance. Data is not being connected. On InstaCare app, live chat is not working, it says, this workgroup is currently closed.

From today evening my Reliance 4G SIM started to latch to Reliance 3G network of Kolkata. No 4G as of now. Anyway the R-CDMA RUIM still shows signal on HTC Desire 510. Though incoming calls are directed to the 4G SIM.

Those who are yet to get an invite, Today i visited local r-digital store, they said sir please share your email id. We have invites to send you. In 48 hours you will get mail from jio. Bring it to us and buy a lyf phone (+jio sim). So Jio 4G is pretty much available to everybody. Spend Rs 5999 and join Jio 4G!!
