Hello, I feel literally dumb asking this but my s4 is not downloading the 'serial port' drivers. I get the modem port but no serial port.. I have tried latest samsung drivers and diag drivers but nothing is happening.. My lappy is win7 64 bit powered, which I know is the core of the issue but there should be a sure shot method to get those drivers.. earlier I have pdanet so I removed it but that didnt helped either.. Also my phone is stock with MDL modem.. do I need to odin to MDC for the unlock or this is fine ?

Yeah.. great news.. let us kno how to proceed for that ?

OK.. and what about the insaurance with ppobox ? Do one thing.. send a message to the seller informing what happened exactly.. from ur package id, I guess u might not have purchased it for more than 10 days back.. if the seller doesn't give any satisfactory answer.. open the dispute with ebay.. Also tomorrow morning call ppobox and tell them what happened.. ask them if they open the packages at there NY hub and see if the item is there before shipping them here. Also is the item again checked after they recieve it from mumbai customs.. if u opted for paying extra 2-3% with insaurance for the item, ask them for the refund.

Before shipping the items from NY hub, PPOBOX does check for the item inside the box I think.. So if there was nothing in the box when u recieved it and ppobox mentioned in the invoice that there is a mobile phone , then u can ask them how can that happen.. Also did u choose the option to insure the item above 10$ value with ppobox ? If u had, u r liable for full refund.

Hello Javed, are u facing any kind of issues using the phone with GSM after this unlock ? I just heard from a colleague that he is facing some issues with Data as well as getting top-ups.

Yeah.. I also recieved my phone that came to NY hub on 11th july.. Still have 2 more packages in NY hub that reached on 16th July.. hoping to get them shipped soon..

Which phone was that and whats the declared value ? I have two HTC ONE in NY hub and I think they may overcharge me on them..

One of mine left the Mumbai hub today too.. one might leave tomorrow.. 2 packages still in NY hub.. but I am sure the problem has been resolved or atleast rolled over for the time being ..

As far as I know they can hold the item for fraud investigation upto 90 days and if they couldn't get a good enough proof , they will release it.. little bit push from ppo guys and agreement on fine should do that earlier. Lets hope it get resolved quickly.. my best guess is that bag might be thrown at some corner and noone in custom is currently giving a sh*t about it...

I dont know if they told u that but when I was talking to one of their guys , it slipped out of his mouth that the items that were dispatches on 1st (or 1st week , cant be sure) july or so has been confiscated by custom pending the regulatory audit.. they still haven't been able to get them cleared I think.. maybe ur item got stuck in there. Would advice u to check with them about that and if necessary get details from them and contact mumbai custom officers directly.. I have resolved couple problems in the past.. the higher level officers are not that bad and listen to ur requests.

OK.. Was pleasently surprised when I saw the email from ppobox that the particular package has been shipped to India.. Now I only hope they dont get stuck in Mumbai hub/customs.

Really ? Let me get this clearly , Ur item reached their NY hub yesterday and its shipped to India the same day ?? Thats very highly unlikely and if true , u got lucky.. One of my item , although not any electronic item but a medical equipment which is needed urgently for my friend's mom for recovery after surgery (aspen cervical collar) reached their NY hub on 26th and its still not been dispatched from there

Did u called them on 022-40641090 for the same and asked about the delay ???

The one which is stuck in Mumbai hub (most probably mumbai custom) , is the value defined for the item correct ? I mean did u provided any proof of that value ??

Finally got a mail from PPOBOX today informing that one of my item (mobile phone off course) has been dispatched from NY hub. This particular one reached there on 11th July. I also called them today and confirm that its been dispatched yesterday and I should get the reciept in 1-2 days and item dispatched within 3-4 days. From this one can guage that each item which is in NY hub right now , will have a delay on 15-20 days in the conditions remain same and hopefully can pickup as soon as they are confortable with sending more items in a Day. This news came as a respite to me as this particular one has been booked and paid advance for long back and I was afraid I have to return the money and loose some profits.. Cheers

I am pretty sure that its because they only have one office and its in Mumbai.. Also I am not saying that its the issue with Mumbai customs , but customs dept in general. The real problem as I can grasp from them is that no matter whatever is the condition of the phone , used, bad esn/imei , with/without box/accessories or cosmetic/working damages, custom ppl are adamant at valuation of item at its retail price for calculation of custom. For eg : I have a iphone 5 without box and accessories and bad IMEI which I bought for 375$ but they fear that custom will be charged on 600$ value. This is why they are taking things slow till they can convince custom dept about taking invoices and actual value in consideration.

Since the issue with custom audits in Mumbai , I am sure both US and UK shipments are being held due to this..

As for the delay , its gonna take about 20-25 days atleast from the date ur item got to the NY hub during the audit period (1st-20jul) to get the item , as told by their manager, If that is the case I'm totally pissed off, my item reached their NY hub on 25th morning(EST) so I've to expect it to reach me at the end of August!! . Why didn't they inform their customers about this delay?, I was in constant touch with them from 20th July or even before that, but not once I was informed that there would be delay as much as this otherwise I would have used SNS service. I think this thing will hit hard their business. yes, its already hampering mine... I have already sold 2 of the three handsets I currently have with them stuck in NY hub and already took the advance 2 weeks back. Now I may have to return them the advance and again search for new buyers.. this totally blows.. very pissed off right now

When did u signed up with them ? Two weeks back they sent an email to all their customers with changes in their policies as per custom auditor's guidelines and mentioned that its mandatory to incl sender/shipper's name and complete address as its mentioned in the package.. alternately if u cant provide them that for items currently in transit , u can provide any US address of ur friend or someone u know , which they will incl for the custom's sake. I have used both service (although SNS I have used very less) and till now PPOBOX was definately better than SNS in almost all respects.. first of all registration was free (but that doesn't matter much to most ppl), shipping was quicker between 3-7 working days from the day it reaches their NY hub and no hasstles like the requirement of order invoice/ transaction details and seller/shipper's name/address. However now I am expecting that their service standard and consumer experiences are going to get hurt with this regulatory audit. I talked to their manager Sanjay Ghosal on friday and these guys now seem to be very cautious after the audit and even willing to loose business if the custom guidelines are not met to the word. The biggest thing that bugged me about the SNS was the custom value declaration and duty calculation on that was completely in their hands.. even if u buy a used phone for 200$ whose retail value is 400$ , they used to mark value is 300-350, but in PPOBOX whatever value u declare , fee was caluclated on that. but now , after the audit, even if I am providing them paypal invoices and reasons on why the item is sold significantly cheaper than its price, they are not ready to consider that value for custom fee calc and blatantly say that if it get stuck in custom , then its our responsibility to talk to them and get it cleared. So, till now PPOBOX experience was really better than SNS and from now I am not so sure.
