  1. Now coming back to in relation with service center's feedback , I mostly had average to good experiences with Nokia and HTC service center in Pune. However the phones that I have got serviced are mostly imported and I have to pay for repair, which might be the reason for their quick service. Had a bad experience with Samsung last year when I went their after my mom's flip-phone (dont remember the model no) had some issues with charging.. Although they deduced that the issue is with the charging port , they told me that the spare part is not gonna be available for 2-3 weeks and even recommended to get it fixed at some local repair shop. Never used and this serviced local phones like micromax etc.
  2. GREAT !!! Totally unrelated but this trick always works.. Few months back I had a mishap with Bluedart where the courier delivery guy instead of dispatching the item , took it to his home and then took leave for 2-3 days. I got so frustated that I prepared a long email incl names of all the ppl I have talked to in that time about the issue to all top management ppl mails I had incl their HR head and Country Head. Next Day I got a apology from their HR head as well as Pune branch head. Since then I am on their somekind of premium watchlist.. As soon as my item arrives , it is dispatched to me , even if it arrives late in evening and if it doesn't I get a call from their managers directly apologizing for the delay.. Once I went to their office to pickup the courier as I was going somehere soon after and although there was couple ppl waiting to get attended before me , the guy on reception left everything and attended me first.. evryone there were gazing at me as I am some kind of elite member their.. it was a good feeling
  3. Nokia CEO ??? U mean Stephen Elop ... KUDOS MATE !!!
  4. Its really hard to decide, but for a person like me who prefers overall look and feel more than a little better battery life and features , HTC One is the clear choice. But one thing that always worries me is the serviceability in the case of any kind of damages..
  5. Truly comprehensive and precise comparison Arun Sir ! I also have the pleasure of using both of these awesome smartphones and I totally agree with each point Arun Sir has mentioned. EDIT - Forgot to mention that I have used GSM (ATT) versions of these phones , not CDMA ones. Network strength in both phones is quite comparable.
  6. There is no doubt that Android is better than iOS anyday cosmetically , but its the performance that lags behind.. even a octacore phone does run smooth enough at all times with latest version of android and this truly makes me sad. thats why made my mind to make the switch
  7. I also believe that with this new version of iOS its time to finally move to the Iphones.. So for the first time in two years I am thinking of leaving android and trying out iOS7 on iphone 5. I still have certain aspirations like numeric shortcuts on keyboard, kill all button on multitasking and full screen caller photo id, but I am positive they will also come in future.
  8. HTC One - The New Android Flagship

I really dont get why they have to go with this Ultra-pixel gimmicky camera module.. until they can povide better resolution i.e 8mp atleast or 13mp to my taste. I am looking forward to the next iteration of ONE with a better camera and rest all same which I think would be Buttetfly 2 .
  9. HTC One - The New Android Flagship

Yeah Mate.. U r right ! I have used HTC ONE, GS4, LUMIA 920 and IP5 for long enough and found out that right now GS4 has best camera for normal light situations in any smartphone (apart from 808 off course) . IP5 is close second in normal light alonwith Lumia 920 and HTC ONE is definately the last among these. Even in low light situations although it fairs better than earlier HTC models, its still lagging behind these models. In low light and indoor shooting Lumia 920 is best hands down. Then comes GS4 and IP5 and HTC ONE is still last here. Although the pics are clearer they are not detailed enough due to low resolution. If u think the camera is a merit for HTC one for which u should buy it, I suggest u dont. However as Abhi said, its build quality, feel in hand, gorgeous screen and speaker sound is simply unmatched. One more issue that I noticed with ONE is the low sensitivilty of the capacitive buttons and Sense 5 is not that good as I imagined.. Just my 2 cents !!!
  10. HTC One on Sprint - World phone

  11. HTC One on Sprint - World phone

Hello Gurus, So I have purchased a sprint htc one and have got the gsm unlocked for it by help from the seller and his sprint technician. I wanted to know if RUIM cards can work on it too if we just change the network mode from GSM/UMTS to CDMA/LTE ?
  12. HTC One - The New Android Flagship

HTC is very diff to root and install a custom ROM. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 what makes you say that dear brother? I have had almost all hot selling models and have rooted them the first day of purchase incl. DNA Dipesh is right mate.. For the models sold with bootloader locked like ATT and T-MO one's there is no exploit to get it unlocked as of now. Also its not supported via HTC DEV . HOwever i'm sure this will change in week or two.
  13. HTC One on Sprint - World phone

Thanks ! GSM unlocked version retails for 649$ but due to high demand and less supply they are sellng over 700-750 easy these days. Even the ATT version I purchased is for 599 sim free.
  14. HTC One on Sprint - World phone

Not sure about the programming as its not my strong suite.. I do believe though that it would be world phone with both CDMA and GSM working on single standby if our great guru's put a little time and effort in this. PM me for the price and offers. I will only buy if I have a confirmed order as its an expensive handset.
  15. HTC One on Sprint - World phone

What price did you get it? It will cost me around 30-31 k in hand.. its with bill and all box packed with invisi-shield full body skin Good pricing... Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2 Thanks.. I will try to get a sprint one too soon for sale here if anyone's interested.

  17. HTC One on Sprint - World phone

OK.. This official page explains all : http://www.htc.com/us/smartphones/htc-one/#specs As you can see sprint version supports 900/1800 band for 2/2.5G and 2100 band for 3G/UMTS upto 14.4mbps. Also guys from xda confirmed that its pre-unlocked for overseas use provided your bandwidth is supported. Howver I went for a ATT one to be on the safer side..
  18. HTC One on Sprint - World phone

Optimus G on sprint doesn't have a sim-slot however HTC one do have one which uses sprints LTE sim. I'm not really sure how many bands that slot support for GSM but its there. However I have heard that all models irrespective of the carrier are inherrently same for HTC one just like the iphone 5,so it might have most frequency bands supported. I'm in contact with a guy who is in sprint global support and he will let me know if gsm is unlocked for international use out of the box. Will keep you updated
  19. HTC One on Sprint - World phone

Yeah.. u are right mate... thanks ... I'll get one asap
  20. HTC One on Sprint - World phone

So if I get this , will there be a software enforced method to get gsm working ?
  21. Hello Guys !! Good to be back at the forum and posting after such long gap ... anyways I have a query for which I only think I can get the answer here ...so here it goes.. I have been RCDMA customer till this April. Although they had many service and data issue, one thing that I liked about RCDMA is that if you have a EvDO postpaid/prepaid plan activated and if you go on national roaming, no additional charges would be needed and you can use EvDO service at roaming area and it will only be deducted from you data plan usage.. However since I switched to Idea GSM, I found this not be the case for GSM provider (atleast for Idea). IF I use 3g data while in roaming, no matter what 3g plan I have activated, the usual rates of 10p/10kb are charged (maybe more I dont remember). In my opinion this is not justified.. I wanted to know if you have experiences with other GSM provided like docomo/vodafone etc where 3g data plan is still usable on roaming ? I have just completed 90 days with Idea and was thinking of MNP to other provider and this is my primary criteria for screening (inclined to go for vodafone or docomo). Thanks !!
  22. Jtag - Bring Back Hard Bricked Boot Dead Phones

OK.. So I got my One S back in hand after Jtag repair from @kanishk bhai and guess what , Its again fully working now.. no issues at all.. already put up for sale. I'd recommend anyone who has suffered hard-brick to consult with @kanishk. He is awesome at this and really helpful guy. Cheers to him !
  23. HTC One - The New Android Flagship

I checked out this video of Iphone 5 vs HTC One drop test which makes sense as both have aluminium bodies . Athough HTC One fares comparatively better than Iphone 5 , one thing that worries me is the speaker grills , specially at the bottom which just snapped out and broke on the first 3 ft drop. I feel that is the most loosely fit part of the phone and something about which one should be careful about.
  24. Jtag - Bring Back Hard Bricked Boot Dead Phones

I have sent my bricked HTC One S to @kanishk bhai in Delhi from Jtag unbricking purpose after good feedbacks from you guys.. He told me that I'm the first rimwebian who is availing his service. I'll keep the forum updated about this.
  25. Jtag - Bring Back Hard Bricked Boot Dead Phones

I'd be really grateful if anyone can provide contact details of any reliable guy from pune (preferable) or mumbai who can provide the Jtag unbricking and also pl provide me the final quote that they provided you so that I'd be cognizant.
