They should have offered 50 per gb not as an effective rate of 50/gb for bigger data packs. Come January and we might see some more attractive packs even for small data packs. With the plans they announced, they can't convert low volume data users into heavy data users. Those who use up to a couple of gb data will continue to stick with other 2g/3g providers. If they don't offer attractive packs, many people will stop using it after the free trial is over in my view.

In my view, lyf flame phones are a much better deal for just 100 rs more for obvious reasons.

I'm surprised to hear that it doesn't have a comport. Isn't there a micro usb port or something? How do you charge it?
-
If you unlock it then it would. Currently it's locked to Reliance. Look for a free/paid unlock option online or visit a local mobile repairs shop to get it done cheaply.
-
Also, how to check 4g data balance?
-
Is it possible to activate this plan using ussd or sms?
-
If you are interested in calls and sms only then try selecting Tata/aircel as applicable, manually. Hopefully it would help you with signal strength.

It could be a problem with apn settings on iphone. If not, maybe they tie data service with the imei linked with the offer. This is just a speculation. Sent from my 710C using Tapatalk

Rcom and Jio share their networks, that's why. Sent from my 710C using Tapatalk

I think manual search would show the networks for which it has support for. Sent from my 710C using Tapatalk

@smartnsweet007, try dialing *#*#4636#*#* and then select LTE only or lte/gsm modes and see if that helps. Does gsm 2g/3g work on your phone?
-
This is most likely the LTE migration FRC that was prescribed by rcom.
-
Use LTE discovery app.
-
Could you guys find out what band is used for 4g using app like LTE discovery? Thanks.
-
Rcom Cdma was deployed on 800 mhz while rcom 4g is getting deployed on 850 mhz(band 5) by replacing the cdma 800mhz band with it.
-
That's true. So far nobody has been successful in enabling gsm on cdma HTC desire 510 and 816. Even enabling additional LTE bands hasn't worked for me on 816. It seems the phones might not be equipped with rf filters and other components and even if they are present, rf calibration data may be missing. One Chinese guy extracted rf calibration data for a Motorola phone I believe from other variants of the same model. He did so by extracting calibration data from qcn files created from other variants for specific bands. He also indicated that he also had access to QRCT software.
-
That's the spec sheet for gsm models.

Sprint HTC desire 816 doesn't support LTE band 3(1800 mhz). The only little chance is with 850mhz band if at all. Sent from my 710C using Tapatalk

Is it a guess that HTC desire 510 will work or is it confirmed to work in LTE mode on Band 5? If it works then HTC desire 816(Sprint) will work too?
-
Are you sure? I just called their cc and they were unaware of it. I never received any communication from them either. What's your source of this info?

If someone could upload pro 3 prl, it would be appreciated very much.

If we can get an idea about the ruim used by the people getting rev b and also from the people who are not getting it, in rev b enabled areas, we would know if it's related to the ruim series or not. Maybe newer ruims have newer prls? I'm just wondering if evdo rev b works with newer ruims. Is there a way to update prl on ruim? *228 requires a 9 digit pin and therefore we can't do ota programming. Hope people with more knowledge would guide us. Thanks.

HOWTO: Get Reliance CDMA up and running on HTC One M8 HK/ non-HK Edition from Sprint
uhm replied to morecrap's topic in HTC
Try apnbackuprestore or apn app to add apn using the xml file for Reliance. After that data should work with rec series ruim as well. -
Just wanted to share a solution that fixed this problem without getting a new rge series ruim. Used apnbackuprestore app to add Reliance apn. The phone started making data connection instantly. That xml file for Reliance apn can be found here on rimweb.

Tata cdma ruim data works okay. Seems like Reliance ruim is the culprit? Which series Reliance ruim works with htc desire 816 virgin mobile phone? Please advise. Is there a way to get the data working without replacing the ruim e.g. supplying the apn info via some method? Thanks.
