  1. Need Advice On Buying GSM Handset

I agree with Karthik Sir, S2 is a better choice. I had used Iphone 4 for quite some time n personally i found Android more interesting and much better as it does not need itunes for most of media transfer and other things. And S2 is far better in terms of specs if u compare it with Iphone 4 specs. Iphone is a good phone but for ppl like us who want to use custom rom & do r&d with our phones, android is a better option. Also, in my personal opinion, after using photon u wud surely not like to go back to a 3.7" screen.
  2. Google Contact Sync Issue

Its been a very unfortunate event for me. I'm currently using a photon bought few months ago. For some reasons, i had to do a factory reset to my handset. So i decided to backup contacts, sms & calls logs. Some how this time i decided to not to export contacts to my SD card and sync it to my gmail id through the contact sync options in the account. I did the sync and it was shown the process was on by a small syncing icon on the right side. Somehow when i tried syncing the account and contacts, the contacts which were added recently did not show up. I tried to crosscheck it with my gmail account but to my surprise the recent contacts did not show up even there. Anybody else has ever faced similar issues? It not a good feeling when you loose contacts like this. Can anyone think of any way to get it back or perhaps any other way google contacts are synced with any other account (like earlier Facebook app used to sync all the contacts but they have stopped it due to privacy concerns).
  3. Google Contact Sync Issue

@hitesh sir, i think now i will try to follow these steps to backup my contacts, @Girish, i never faced such issue in past, but this time i dint expected this this kind of thing to happen. @Chiragbahi, the problem here is that the contacts did not sync with my gmail account over wifi & i'm very sure that i always selected the gmail account while adding my contacts. I tried everything from restoring to checking by any chance facebook app still stores contacts but all in vain. Thanks everyone for your valuable response. I think now i will be more cautious in saving contacts and backing up contacts on SD card or outlook seems to be a better option. I have also posted this issue on gmail forum. Will update if there is any response out there.
  4. Review: Motorola Photon 4G

I did a factory reset yesterday. surprisingly I'm facing less gsm connectivity issue but there is still some issue. In past few days I noticed that even when I go to a slightly interior location, network goes off while htc legend n nokia phones are still showing 3-4 network bars. Also the network doesn't connect on its own. I have to try airplane mode or search for network manually. I doubt factory reset has got anything to do with the radio firmware. I also noticed that gsm does not connect on its own if the phone is in sleep mode even after changing prl to only gsm mode. Will upgrading to latest sbf help? Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
  5. ^^^ class 10 @rs 299 @ indiaplaza. I bought class 6 n got class 4. They have agreed to replace it to class 6. www.indiaplaza.com/transcend-8gb-micro-sd-card-pc-pcs15022012trans01-10.htm# Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
  6. Windows has added lots of new long awaited features like u said mounting drive, fast boot, secure boot from malware like IE, updating windows once in a month with all the updates at one go, factory reset like on mobile devices, faster transition & not to forget Win mobile type lockscreen. But i think adding metro ui (rather forcing metro ui on a non touch device seems a bit odd. They are trying to go mobile way by creating more of internet kind of os (by integrating windows live, mail, etc.) But certainly they are missing a few key features like closing an app, start menu button and also a button to shut down the pc. as a consumer, i rather found it too confusing and a hybrid of mobile os/ui & computer os which is difficult to use....
  7. Hi guys, need a help. I 'm using gigabyte Gama785us2h motherboard & amd 550be 3.1 ghz cpu with ddr2 800mhz ram. It is am3 motherboard. On a bit of research i found out am3 socket boards support ddr3 but in website it shows only ddr2 is supported and no info on ddr3. Can anyone help to figure out if it does support ddr3 as im planning to upgrade ram. Is anyone using same mb? Also one variant of same motherboard says it supports ddr3. Sent from my MB855
  8. Thnx @Honest sir, @Rajanbhai & Kamalbhaifor your help. The motherboard has only one slot and that is DDR2. I was thinking to upgrade RAM but DDR2 is costly.
  9. I ordered one 8gb mmc last week from Sulekha.com. Service was pretty good and they shipped the item within two days but somehow the firstflight guys messed it up. they delivered the package this saturday to someone else. Now following up with them to deliver it back to me. Sulekha.com customer care is giving prompt reply on my mails but no action. so i had finally taken it up with firstflight and hope the card gets delivered to me by tomorrow first half. Anyone else faced similar issues of product delivered to someone else????
  10. Review: Motorola Photon 4G

It simple. you shud hav an on-going call and on ur screen u can see add call button (refer the image link below). just click it add another call. Once you are connected to second call u will be able to see merge icon in place of add call. on clicking ti you can start conf call. following same process of add and merge you can easily create conf call. I'm providing a link where i had called on 4 numbers and created a conf call at same time. https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B6-ko5w3S79GU01jWDhhTmVRb09FWUliclJwOGhNZw Hope this will help....PM me if you need more help. i can provide step by step if this doesnt work.
  11. But this mb is am3+ and it was specially made to support ddr3 and phenom series proccy. M confused coz another 785g variant does support ddr3. Sent from my MB855

  15. Review: Motorola Photon 4G

@mujeebrehman, what i meant is that the GSM signal reception is not really great. Signal drops completely at places where a nokia is working with proper network signal. Also, the phone switches to Automatic mode once there is no network. And it takes forever for it to comeback to gsm network. I am facing this issue since the very time i bought it. Not sure if only im facing it as i hardly saw any post while googling on this details. Also, it would be great if you can help with the CDMA workshop thing. I'm a gsm user and am now facing a bit of issues with this GSM network going out even at a slightest indoor place.
  16. Review: Motorola Photon 4G

^^^^@mujeebrehman, what i can say is its gsm radio is average. The network usually drops where all others also drop. Again, the gsm radio is very slow. it takes really a bit of time to come back to gsm coz it goes into automatic mode when gsm is out of coverage.

  20. @balaji, check buytheprice. they have special discounts on android phones. around 10% roughly. when u will add the product to the cart there will a coupon already entered in the right side, just click apply...... i just checked it this afternoon.
  21. just a thought.... even im trying to figure out a possible solution for this type of connectivity. Is it possible to share a drive on a pc/windows and access it on mobile through a wifi router(not laptop hotspot)? we can create a normal sharing/server type of connectivity then where all the devices can upload and download files to a shared drive on a network.
  22. very interesting find hiteshji....m sure it will help lot of people who are moving to android or any other smart phone....
  23. Review: Motorola Photon 4G

i feel battery is one know issues for me which needs to be addressed. with an average talk time in a day and data on all time, photon doesnt even last 24 hrs. Anyone in the forum has tried any custom roms for photons so far???
  24. ya, many frequent reboots. atleast two in a day. also, if you use any other(i was using samsung) datacable to charge from you pc or laptop, twil reboot if u try to pick up any call. however, the update itself if buggy. I hope they come out with a more stable ics for photon
  25. i agree with kapil. Feature wise both phones are world phones with 2.3GB. but if we have compare it then for sure photon is the winner with 4.3 inch display and dual core procy, tegra chipset and lots of other features. having said that both phones are good in their domains but photon is surely a step ahead of inc2.
