  1. @ Renu : Geewiz is a great totally debloated , deodexed and zipaligned Rom , with a lot of performance tweaks in both the ROM and the kernel, you should use that , as far as market identification is concerned , well i have not been able to do it , i know it has to do with the location and prolly with the APNs , as all the ROms that we use are actually meant to be used in US , thats the reason market prices are always in $ , TBH i have never had any issue with Rs or $ coz i am not gonna buy anything from market But i ll talk around and will find a way , I am sure its a minor thing really . @ amitroutray : the ICS is still being tested and i am having a fairly good experience up until now , seems like loads of things have been fixed since i last tried it , still going to test for another day before deciding . @ Maverick : nice to see that you have settled in with Geewiz its a great ROM , one of the best i have ever used actually. Try and use Go Launcher Ex with it and download a couple of appealing themes , the performance will be outstanding
  2. Oner more thing , more like a heads up !! I have just flashed and setup the ICS structure on my phone , will put it through rigrous tests for a couple of days , If I am satisfied then , will prepare a comprehensive guide for the GB users who wanna switch. So far its been encouraging Would again like to request the ADIM or The MOD/ MODs or whosoever is moderating this thread , to allow me to edit the first post , otherwise i might have to start a new thread regarding ICS update which is totally pointless.
  3. @ renuka for EVDO , really it should be your seller , did u buy it from Rim web ? If yes then you should tell us the name of the guy who is so lousy in giving support. alternatively you can try contacting Hetal Patel , Parin or Amit Jain ( these are the guyz i know actually ) , If they can do anything they ll certainly do it, but above all it should be the sellers responssibility if Evdo was included in the sale terms.
  4. personally i would root for Geewiz : reason being its pretty solid when the smoothness is concerned , what i mean is it is totally optimized , the free RAM is always enough to multitaskin Super clean or resurrection within just a few hours of reboot the available Ram goes to 13 or 14% which aint a great thing at all , despite you doing normal stuff. No dount superclean and resurrection look pretty good , with all those addoons , but at the end the performance isnt good when it comes to memory usage.
  5. @ Maverick : looks like you really are having a toughy with the phone and GB , anyways just wipe data , cache and may be even dalvik , dont restore previously saved data this time do everything a fresh , btw can u tell which kernel are you on !! is it stock or the Geewiz just in case also reflash the kernel http://www.mediafire.com/file/57a6kf6ics6lcxz/geewiz-2.8-kernel-04162012.zip
  6. I am in a hurry , leaving for work , the rooting is pretty simple. save the Su file on ur sd card - where u can easily access it when i recovery http://www.mediafire.com/?38vozx7n37u02a5 turn off phone , go in download mode and flash red recovery via odin > pda pda pda https://www.rapidshare.com/files/3104151129/cwm-recovery-ALL-3-30-FIX.tar once done dont reboot , just go straight to recovery , using three fingers ( vol up + vol down + power button) just flash the su zip when you are in recovery using the zip file flash option and u ll be rooted.
  7. @ Renuka : 1.. well u ll have to repeat that process to restore DATA , i suggest ask for the dump files of 1x or 3G and save them someplace safe, so that you can flash em via cdma workshop as and when needed. 2.. not really there are plenty of apps that you can use from market , one of em is SUPER BACKUP its small and helps to backup , sms and contacts, i have always used a rooted structure so i know that with titanium backup root and mybackup root you can do a app , call log , sms , settings, and contacts backup. if you happen to have a nandroid backup of ur previous ROM then you can just boot into recovery and in backup and restore option and then advanced restore to , restore the data only , this will give you all ur data back. 3.. to get evdo , u need to contact the guy from whom u got this phone , he should ideally arrange for it , once evdo is activated you ll have to choose the plan and afterwards he ll send u the dump file for the 3g , which u can flash into ur phone with CDMA workshop . otherwise contact the GURUs
  8. o yes my bad , you wont have that on reliance. no worries just follow the above procedure and see if you can flash eh03 , Hitesh has elaborated the cdma workshop method in detail , its pretty simple and let me know
  9. min o is found under settings > about phone > status > Min its a 10 digit number : LOL how can i tell if its right or wrong, but its found where i have mentioned.
  10. @ Maverick : yes MDN is infact your mobile umber the 10 digits Min number : should be noted down just in case you lose your connectivity. @ renu : all u need to do is follow the procedure of flashing EH03 GB Rom via ODIN , read the tutorail its pretty much self explanatory . before that download super backup from market and backup , your contacts, smses , and and similar stuff onec you are on eh03 redownload superbckup and resore everything. mind it your apps cant be backed up with superbackup.
  11. sorry for the late reply dear !! been busy buyin a new laptop anyways : this is pretty much everything you should do for now also do a google search with this bypass language screen fascinate you ll get many results , and i am sure one of them will help , coz i cant replicate your issue and what i did whenh i had this mess of language screen was just connect the phone thru cdma workshop and enter my mdn , you can flash Eh03 modem anytime you like via odin
  12. hey Maverick : first : i had updated you that yours is official reliance and this will get messy coz i remember my data was gone rather always vanishes whenever i use Eh19 on my fassy. your issue is pretty common , if you can access your dial pad by any means then follow Sunil's method or follow this ( i guess both are same ) 1. Press Emergency Call 2. In the dialer, dial: *#83786633 3. Then hit send. 4. Then hit the Home key. Done! TBH it was a year back when i had this issue , just in the beginning when i had purchased my fassy, so i cant replicate or update the exact process as i dont really remember the details. and just do one thing instead of flashing and re-flashing , just forward all ur incoming calls to some other number and then go about it , give it a few hours , i mean so that we can troubleshoot you , most of us are online in the evening, so do it in the evening and wait till night , one of us will surely come to the rescue ( as we were rescued when we were in ur situation )
  13. the geewiz recovery works in the same manner as the usual recovery does and the reboot into recovery option is there inside the shutdown menu when you press and hold the power button >> NAVIGATION << VOLUME UP: Move menu item selection bar up VOLUME DOWN: Move menu item selection bar down MENU: Go back to previous menu HOME: Go back to main menu BACK: Select highlighted menu item SEARCH: No operation ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >> MENUS << MAIN MENU Install Update Package - Opens an SDCARD file browser and allows you to select an Update-Zip package to be installed to your device Wipe Device Data - Shows the Wipe Device Data Menu Manage Volumes - Shows the Manage Volumes Menu Tools - Shows the Tools Menu Exit - Exits recovery and reboots the device
  14. @ Maverick :use this and flash with ODIN , should flash GeeWiz 2.8.1 ROM/Kernel/Modem/Recovery/Data Wipe Full Update (ODIN) WARNING: This will delete all user data from your device, replace your RECOVERY with GeeWiz Recovery as well as replace your modem with the EH03 revision. http://www.mediafire.com/file/qooa03...252012.tar.md5 MD5: a53b333ed17c9fd746e6c9741b7b1706 if its successful then after one reboot flash this EH03 modem with ODIN mirror: http://www.mediafire.com/?42rwjk3eal6zpoa md5: 6cf6959d0316f7089fa956d50a387902 the geewiz version will add GEEWIZ custom recovery to your phone , if you dont blike then later on you can flash red recovery. @ jairijhwani : yes you can
  15. well ATLAS pit just repartitions the file system but you are right if we expect atlas pit to help solve your issues then prolly it might interfere with EH19 ok dont use atlas for now and do the process here is the DL09 download link DL09
  16. well you can follow the guide above or the simplest way would be flash DL09 with atlas pit reboot shutdown flash EH03 again ( this time as well with atlas pit ) once done update me and i ll guide you further. you need to set the file system right first this is why advising you this method If Eh03 flash fails and you suspect that ll happen again then for safe side store geewiz 2.8 system file + 2.8 kernel file on your sd card If eho3 flash fails just go again in doiwnload mode and flash the red recovery once done reboot into recovery and flash geewiz system ( ROM ) and then kernel. should be good.
  17. Well ATLAS PIT isnt needed at all if you are switching from TOUCHWIZ to touchwiz ROM , but its mandatory if you are coming from CM7 , CM9 or any other MTD rom to toucwiz. =================================================================================== FC27 can only be flashed over a working EH03 ROM ( anything from superclean , resurrection , geewiz or stock eh03 ) If you are interested in FC27 modem only ( which is what i RECOMMEND) then the best is if you are running a good EH03 structure then do a nandroid backup once done flash FC27 with ODIN reboot shutdown go to recovery and just restore your nandroid backup. ===================================================================================== Also i strogly recommend all to use 2.8 GEEWIZ ROM , KERNEL with FC27 Modem and red recovery - with this setup your phone will work like an ace really. the setup works very well with EH03 modem too ======================================================================================= The ICS builds arent that stable at all , loads of things crash randomly so i have decided to not post them or provide any support to them. Sorry if anyone feels bad but its better to avoid - atleast for a few more weeks may be .
  18. strange i cant edit the post anymore nyways here is the link to the RED recovery !! https://www.rapidshare.com/files/3104151129/cwm-recovery-ALL-3-30-FIX.tar
  19. @ Maverick : here is the link to EH03 https://www.rapidsha...3_GB_CM.tar.md5 and @ Carinlover and Maverick - this is how you can get all the EH03 features with FC27 Modem and a very clean debloated GEEwiz ROM ( which is the best gingerbread) 1.. backup all data , and apps in ur phone 2.. turn off : remove battery : download mode : flash EH03 ODIN inh PDA section with atlas pit in PIT section and repartition option clicked 3.. reboot 4.. shutdown 5.. again go to download mode : remove battery 6.. Flash FC27 in ODIN : in PDA srection : this time it should boot if not then again repeat steps 2,3,and then straight to 8, 9, 10,11,12 8.. Download following and store in ur SD card GeeWiz 2.8 ROM (EDIFY Update-Zip) http://www.mediafire...em-04162012.zip MD5: 545bdaab587432b856a6b066ae2972d8 GeeWiz 2.8 Kernel (EDIFY Update-Zip) http://www.mediafire...el-04162012.zip MD5: f410e8135379295da7226f858336d2d8 9.. Turn off phone : Remove battery go to download mode again and Flash the RED recovery RED RECOVERY 2.5.1.x : http://www.mediafire...lbgg57ora8wbcv5 md5 : 00E90E790A70E2D66B6CBA6A152DE504 10.. once this flash completes : put the battery back inside : reboot into recovery straightaway by pressing together VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER BUTTON 11.. once in recovery : wipe data : wipe cache : wipe dalvik cache ( simply DATA wipe will do alone as well ) and by using flash zip option : flash the geewiz 2.8 SYSTEM : and once it completes : flash the 2.8 kernel , in the same manner and in this same session. 12.. reboot and now you are on GINGERBREAD EH03 based ultra snappy geewiz rom which is totally clean and debloated and with the FC27 modem. IF your FC27 ODIN flash fails at step 5 then simply repeat steps 1,2,3 -> and straight to step 8 , 9 , 10 , 11, 12 : after this you will be on GEEWIZ ROM with EH03 modem : this should run great as well coz my cousin has same ROM as mine but EH03 modem and he gets more or less good data speeds. but if you want FC27 then simply make a nandroid backup of your geewiz installation and after turning off and goiung into download mode ODIN the FC27 ROM : reboot : and again turn off and restore your nandroid backup that you just made. simple !!
  20. also it looks you are using a very old version of ODIN try this version : Odin3 v1.83.exe
  21. @Maverick : there must be something wrong first check the MD5 of the extracted 318MB tar file E54A93A5FA00F9E8C20F0A11354C08F5 If the md5 is different than this , then ur download is corrupt redownload and reflash @ Silver : the ICS flashing requires a lot of steps and a lot of files , unless there are many users interested , I am sorry to say i wont make that much of labour ( i hope u ll understand ) and the builds arent that stable , random force closes and random bugs also lags are pretty evident ( atleast thats what i noticed )
  22. @ Maverick75 : just do as i say FC27 is also gingerbread and a better GB i must say whenever u are flashing something with ODIN , Root isnt needed. just backup ur data and apps ( just for extra security) after that just put your phone into download mode and flash this : https://www.rapidshare.com/files/3197982211/SCH-I500_SCH-I500USFC27_US_by_JoshM.rar its the gingerbread ROM from CCellular , doesnt matter to us coz we are already on reliance. The best things about this is ... this came out way after EH03 : it seems better in kernel radio and ROM so by and large a better gingerbread i must say ... then the most remarkable thing is , this ROM flash will not format any data or apps in ur mobile so u ll be in business straightaway ... Then most remarkable feature is that you will get 3x better speed of 3G with this ROM than EH03 , i can say this coz i am using that radio FC27 myself. after all if you feel unhappy you can simply again backup data and apps and FLASH EH03 tar with ODIN , so nothing to lose. If you switch to FC27 or EH03 - rooting can be done afterwards that ll take just 2 minutes @ Shanusmarty : i do recommend the same for you , try this ROM , root it later its already very very snappy , if you arent happy then i ll link you up to a very very good fast and bug free Geewiz ROM
  23. well there is just one or may be two i tried both but really apart from a different look and feel , things were not good at all , infact i went back to my fav geewiz within 24 hrs. Still if you wanna try then try AOKP : the latest Glitched up build 32 and Teamhacksung's build 8 ( its there at rootzwiki) If there are more people interested in going to ICS ( which i dont recommend personally ) I can ake a tutorial with links If the STAFF helps me in putting them on the first post as well as in here on page 11 and 12.
  24. also there is one more awesome ROM from a operator in US its CCellular the good thing about that ROM is that when u ll flash it over your current setup , it will not format your data and you ll switch to gingerbread See i have tried it on my existing GB ROM and it didnt format the data ( TBH dont know how it ll behave on an existing FROYO , but i think it wont create any issue. I think you should try this out coz the modem FC27of this particular ROM is really awesome , somehow its going down pretty well with RELIANCE's network , i am getting very very good data speeds with it Here is the LINK https://www.rapidsha...US_by_JoshM.rar just download and extract this CI500_CS_FC27_GB_REL_KIES.tar and flash it in PDA option in ODIN after backing up your data and apps.
