well i donno about other models but believe me fascinate in particular has a great great hardware flashed various stuff in it like a 1000 times till now the official froyo stands at the most stable and smoothest version in ED05, fascinate is better than motorola stuff at same price range by miles. all the best

we cant get an OTA update here in India and with reliance, not possible ( OTA is possible with the complete vzn framework only, rooted devises are not entitled to OTA even if they are on vzn network in US ) there must some very minor changes in the official version and my be none, cant tell right now the official version should be out in a few days i guess ( but depends , see Ed04 official files took forever , JT has just released them (ed04 update ) yesterday infact after so long ) but TBH i havent seen a single bug in the ed05 leak and i am sure even if there comes an official Ed05, i wont switch to it this leak is working like a charm .

could you guyz help me here : i am a salaried person , my tax has been deducted at source and i have been given form 16 ( asking late coz the employer gave the form 16 just yday ) okay do i haave another smallish source of income through internet i mean i receive payments in $ from overseas and transfer it to my bank account. i donno how to file the return with this new source of income its more of some consultancy work really. also i would like to pay taxes on this extra income too , could some of you good guyz guide me pl. regards

Another UPDATE : as of 28th July Verizon has finally made ED05 official so they have ultimately OFFICIALLY fixed the most annoying FROYO issue with the fascinate, that of missed calls. ED05 is now available OVER THE AIR to all the verizon fascinate users ( of course who are on STOCK ) I guess we ll see another spike in Fascinate's fascination, TBH its one of the most awesome mobile handsets i have come across till date. have fun folks !!! and pl never hesitate to throw ur queries at me , although i donno much like the GURUS here but whatever little research i have done for myself regarding fascinate , thru that i ll defo try and answer you guys's queries. god bless regards

Ok : I have done some extensive testing , asking a few folks to constantly call my no and note down the time of call , also tried using the EC09 radio as well with the Ed05 Leak , work great too. all in all, I WOULD HEREBY REQUEST and ADVISE all the fascinate SELLERS to ship the handsets with ED05 LEAK or make the buyer flash ED05 as soon as he receives the shipment. This means no missed calls and stuff for the buyers. regards

not showing missed calls is the issue with majority of fascinate BUILDS somehow , ED05 fixes it , flash Ed05 and you wont miss anything. and the other issue aint common , i suggest you refresh the ROM by flashing the full Ed05 , should fix a lot of things. How to ROOT ED05 , kinna simple !!! store latest SU package on ur SD card from here : http://www.mediafire.com/?38vozx7n37u02a5 download the .tar version of recovery from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=556634&d=1301538947 after storing latest SU package on ur sd card, flash the recovery using ODIN as soon as it finished straight away boot in recovery by pressing and holding vol up + vol down + power button ( and u ll reach the RED RECOVERY ) and flash the Su package by selecting install from SD card option and give path to the SU package. you ll be rooted.

well i have been trying very many combination since last 3 or 4 months with my fascinate to get best reception, 3G speeds and NO MISSED CALL issues. And i can confirm That the LATEST 2.2.2 ED05 LEAK is a real deal, its the snappiest of all the STOCK official and Leak ROMs for the fassy that is among D101, Dl09, DL30, EB01. and IT HAS CERTAINLY FIXED the notorious MISSED CALL ISSUE ( as far as i am concerned, yay!!!! ) I have been using it from past 4 days and i can say its the BEST setup after the debloated, debinged, deodexed Ed01 that i was using before. Its easy to install it as well !!! Just FLASH the .TAR file via ODIN through the PDA section and have Peace folks. If you have been using the TOUCHWIZ ROMS like the community or evil fascination or Stock ones, there is no need to flash the PIT file But if you are currently on the AOSP or MIUI structure which have diff file systems then you ll need the PIT file to repartition. here are the MEDIAFIRE DOWNLOAD links to the ED05. Hey all, ok 10 days back a friend of mine purchased a sony vaio laptop, i suggested him to get RELIANCE broadband data card with 750 per month unlimited plan , now he has been complaining ever since, that he gets way too lower speeds with it , yday night i went to his place and i myself checked that the card was giving .11mbps speed in HYBRID mode. thats shamefully low , i donno what to do its been just four days since he started using the card. could u folks suggest anything to improve speeds also what should be the process to surrender this , and if it boils down to that what other option should i suggest to him. ( its very imp coz i have been the one who always messes his machines this time i want to make it up ) Regards

@ dkaile : Thanks mate , someone alos suggested this earlier but i donno , in the settings there are three options onlt netconnect , 1x and hybrid : if you are referring to netconnect then i did that and there was no chyange really , The card is being used in ROHINI in delhi and i am sure that area is evdo covered as i use my fascinate's evdo as well , I can say the speeds are not good with my fascinate as well ( 250 t0 350kbps ) but not that low as the datacard is showing. could u folks shed some more light on it pl. regards

@ dipanlahari : Thanks a bunch mate but really i have tried all sorts of combinations going to stock DI101 , DJ05 , DL09 , EB01 , ED01 and all and then flashing froyo Roms over them with diff radios and all. But yes EA28 is the key , this guy seems to have overdone it but if his problem is solved then thats what is counted. I ll give it a try but with my own procedure god bless regards

yes those shotcuts for flashing the modems are just way too good arent they ? and yes you are right when its working right then why blow it . its very very strange that despite being on FROYO you have never ever experienced that issue , TBH with u , its due to that deep sleep freakin issue that i had to switch back to an eclair superclean version just half an hour back. Do update us all your experience with ed04 , and i am sure you know that the latest GB leak is full of serious crap its better to kepp off of it for the time being ( but then you will never venture there coz ur current setup is indeed great ) regards

Its good that u are getting such great battery life with ur setup ( the recent stock ROMS let alone debloated , deodexed ones are really snappier and faster i believe ) But then if you are happy, who are we. But i would like to know how your fascinate will fare with above normal usage , i mean regular internet use , browsing , downloading , gaming and all, live wallpaers more frequent app syncing coz as far as my knowledge goes DL30 was actually leaked froyo , and it seemed resonably stable at the time. The measures that you have taken will help no doubt on any setup ( but yes charging while off after calibrating the battery is good indeed ) I use my handset a lot i mean really i love my fascinate and just cant leave it idle for a min when i am free so from my perspective i feel these things are also beneficial : The biggest advantage in terms of backup comes ( irrespective of any ROM ) from having a undervolt kernal ( -50 works the best and is safest otherwise -100 and SV are also there) the best radio ( which are till date EA28 and Ed04 - Ed04 is awesome as it kicks the evdo speed way too much side by side making 2 to 3 bars of signal out of 1 ) - this can be confirmed by looking into battery use by cell standby and seeing how much time ur cell has been without signal rest as you urself said wifi , least apps , least data transfer and stuff. and wiping the battery stats usually settles the calibration of the battery right, if you are rooted and are with CWM then just by charging 100% while on , then charging 100% while off and then again charging 100% when on > after that rebooting in recovery and deleting battery stats will set the calibration of any battery right, it is particularly beneficial if you are fond of flashing new ROMs and trying out new combinations every now and then. just my 2 cents in additions to ur findings As always Regards to you for being a very aware and helping member at this awesome forum ALSO a very very important thing , and this goes to all of you fascinate users Are you guyz also noticing that while in deep sleep ( i mean when the screen is in sleep mode and locked ) the phone doesn't receive calls as well as texts on a number of occasions , whosoever is calling you says the phone was ringing , but there is no9 display of ringing at ur end ??

hey folks . well to cut the long story short , it seems you cant use imported handsets with corporate numbers of reliance CDMA. so i need an Indian OMH or RUIM based handset my minimum requirements are Budget - around 15 or 16 cpu - 1Ghz or more Ram - 512 or more camers - 5MP or more atleast amoled 4 inches screen , all in all like fascinate or around it. waiting patiently for the replies. regards

well great news folks, with some awesome efforts by hetal dear and another great friend of his the awesome mr Amit , I have just got my new fascinate. my number as well as evdo both are working great. infact I am making this post with the same handset . this is simply awesome. I can't even begin to explain how hard all three of us worked in resolving so many issues. and especially herald. he devoted so much time with me and at last. well the thing is i purchased a meid based fascinate from here at RIMWEB , but the thing is in that handset the number gets barred or the call disconnects after 3 seconds. the reason i was told was that , corporate number may have diff security measures adopted so they may not be compatible with imported handsets . in that case i am left with only Indian MEID or OMH based handsets. i am asking this thing just out of sheer compulsion TBH . regards PS : do u guyz know anyone out there who has a corporate number and has been using MEID based imported handsets.??? he or she might help

Used both intel and amd in the past and by my own experience i can safely say INTEL is more reliable when i tried the latest black edition from amd last year , man despite getting a top notch hardware setup to support it , i was disappointed . way too much heat since 2nd day the cpu fan was running on 100% and the sound was unbearable, and then the ever annoying issue of freezing was there since 6th day. had to littereally throw it on the face of my vendor. opted for a more expensive intel i5 structure and i am very very happy , no heating issues, super duper quite and extremely reliable . INTEL is ACE ( as far as Indian conditions go ). regards

hello folks its nice to see a dedicated forum about reliance . ok i have a cdma number which obviously i cant port, have been using a corby speed from past 1 year and now i seriously wanna upgrade, since i have purchased optimus one handset for my other GSM number , i just cant get alond with corby really. have been moving like a freak all over delhi but apart from one samsung qwerty and samsung duos , there is just no other handset available. I dont wanna go for blackberry coz there are really no features in em and i will never use blackberry services. My requirements are - great looks , good battery , fast interface , best signal catching and everything else decent. please suggest me a few good handsets and also the places in delhi from where i can buy em.

well @ caringlover , i am sure the fascinate deal looks awesome as well, but would like to update again that i am already having a Optimus one for my other GSM connection, dont you think having two drastically similar phones ( both bar type , androids , total touch and stuff ) will ruin my experience . would apprecaite if you all learned folks can suggest me a few more options ( i am already in for FASCINATE and EPIC , but would appreciate some more suggestions ) i was more inclined towards something like epic really which has a front camera as well as a qwerty keypad too along with the same specifications of fascinate. but I am a noob among you guyz, would really appreciate if you folks guide me into right direction please. i am really sick of my corby and desperately need to upgrade also how does the payment thingy works here , and what about the shipping of item , how it is all done , is there a protection plan from the respected forum regarding frauds and stuff. regards
