  1. At that price, it's more of a robbery than deal when No Contract CDMA version is selling in US for $ 350 to $ 400. HTC = Hai Teri Cheating Also GSM version available for 21,088INR (450CAD) without contract on Rogers Wireless. http://mobilesyrup.com/2011/08/04/rogers-htc-evo-3d-and-lg-optimus-3d-now-available-at-best-buy/#comment_pager

Want To Buy! 1 HTC Evo 3D gsm version for 22K!
  4. Samsung Galaxy S II

You are right. I was wondering why the text was blurry and it must be because the famous amoled ghosting is having some effect on the display. Also wonder why Samsung is going back to pentile for Prime. Could be to increase screen life.
  5. Samsung Galaxy S II

The sound ouput is loud, but low quality, cannot be fixed even with the Voodoo patch as in sgs1. The amoled is PENTILE, same as Nexus One. Subpixels have been enlarged to inprove screen life. This plays havoc with web browsing: text is slightly blurry. Those having Optimus Black, which has the Hitachi developed In Plane Switching LCD screen that LG supplies to Apple for its IP4, will not be able to accept the downgrade. Hopefully this will be solved in the sgs3, or Nexus Prime, which will have Super amoled 720p.

How to buy lg o3d for 27k: Buy Samsung sgs2 for 27 k, play with it for 2 months, then trade it with lgo3d user who is fed up of waiting for ginger bread! Posted from brand new sgs2! This phone rawks!
  7. Quote However, it seems that Motorola might have had a sudden change of heart after all, for the latest information that the good guys over that the FCC have released now reveal that the the DROID Bionic will sport radios for LTE, CDMA, UTMS and GSM as well. This makes the upcoming DROID Bionic a world phone which will be supported by more than 220 countries all over the world. And we all know what this means; there now exists a possibility that this particular smartphone might just eventually find its way over to our shores some time in the near future. 8. Samsung Galaxy S II

Worldwide the LG Optimus 3d is cheaper than the s2. If it launches in India higher than s2, I will buy the s2 instead. Price of export set in Singapore with 12 mth store warranty: http://www.sgbest.com/product.php?id=352 Now 687 SGD versus 797 SGD of s2! The s2 is a media monster and can play all file formats, even 1080 .mkv!
  9. LG Optimus 3D

Arrived in Malaysia on 18th and scoured the web for lg o3d: they have gray market (AP, phones with 1 yr store warranty, ORI phones with original warranty) pieces at crazy high prices 2400 MYR: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1754375/+80 Went and saw the phone here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1957502 Too expensive. Backed out. When I was at departure lounge yesterday, dealer messaged me to pick up the piece for RM2000/- !. Toooo late! If past tends are anything to go by (lgo2x launched in Singapore very, very, cheap: 700 SGD. Rumours are this is also a game changer) launch price in india will be below o2x price! Already available at low prices here: http://www.sgbest.com/product.php?id=352 775 Singapore Dollar. Good user reviews for the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182710 http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1754375/+80 Quote I know u want the 3d, but it isn't out yet, i'm sure it's priced similarly to the SGS2, so which one should u buy? Even on froyo, the LG 3d is a much delicious choice. Now waiting for India launch... BTW, any smart phone you buy you get the full benefit when you travel abroad. LTE, Wimax, HSUPA! Short validity 3g data SIM cards for tourist are plentiful. Tune talk (data&voice) can be bought on the plane, and activated as soon as you land. Maxis is the fastest, but only data. P1 is not available for tourists, and its LTE/Wimax.

  13. LG Optimus 2X Android With Tegra 2 Processor

Just dropped by my supplier to check what price he will give me for the sgs2. He is willing to swap another 2x or sgs2 for my phone. Pretty much the same experience: Quote I'm from "south" Asia. I gave my phone to LG service center here in India to get the DOA certificate from them with which I can swap my O2X with SGS2 from the online seller here once released(may be next week) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041546&page=13 If I swap, I will face lower res, yellow screen, weak gps, dropped wifi issues, higher price. More important I will lose Tegra Games, which I am getting addicted to: Dungeon Defenders and Totracer are free and Galaxies of Fire is paid. Youtube video shows Tegra and non Tegra versions: big differences. Wonder if I can play quad core games: Not worth swapping! The latest reboot statistics are quite encouraging: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097850 Screen is super, supports all synaptics features, including 2finger rotate in Google Maps. Switched to Dolphin Browser HD and getting Gingerbread-like cut and paste. Just read a review about sgs2 which was bought based on "best smartphone available today" claims: Quote I read those reviews and bought the phone for my wife. Bad idea. Should have waited and read on XDA first. Reviewers have only played a bit with a phone. Also they have been sent phones by Samsung that have been thoroughly QC:d. Here are some of the issues: Battery life s**ks. It cannot compare to the iPhone 4. And if you're "lucky" it s**ks big time due to a bug that a lot of users have. Battery life when using wifi s**ks. And if you're "lucky" you have one of a few (but very popular) routers that really make it ****. There is a pink dot when shooting pictures against a white background. Quite a few units have faulty displays with a yellow tint. Some units, including mine, go nuts when connected to wifi and restart/crash/freeze a few times per day. I'm having mine exchanged right now to see if it helps. One more thing. I was stupid enough to buy it off of reviews since wifey's phone died. The reviews said "it's the best screen ever in a cell phone". If you talk about colors and contrast, yes. It puts my iPhone 4 to shame. But the resolution is downright disgraceful. That buttons become big and so on is just a + for wifey. But reading text on the display is horrible. It's all jagged no matter how you zoom. Look before you buy. Also, if you have a Mac you can't update the firmware.
  14. LG Optimus 2X Android With Tegra 2 Processor

SGS2 is good, will pick up for my son as soon as it launches. Evo 3d too late launch. Nexus S is dead in water: single core, no SD card slot. For starters, see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104641 See my post #289: http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/mobile-monsters/138304-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-10.html #71: http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/mobile-monsters/138930-lg-optimus-2x-dual-core-processor-smart-phone-launched-india-3.html#post1403399 #33: http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/mobile-monsters/140995-purchase-higher-end-android-based-mobiles-2.html#post1406032 I will list down my reasons for buying, and my experience so far. I may not be as cogent as Rajanmehta or as lucid as Dkaile, but will try to be coherent at least! I had a Nexus One and was pretty pleased with its Gingerbread update performance. The only bugbear was the crippled multitouch: bad implementation or too immature prototype. When dual core came in , I was pretty excited but all the launches had bugs: lg 2x, moto atrix, sgs2. What attracted me to LG was the heavy discount. I figured that I could live with the bugs by: 1.Getting a good piece without reboot problem! 2.Avoiding sd card use!! 3.Risking warranty by rooting and flashing custom roms!!! After purchasing, I 1.Loaded the phone with apps. No problem. 2.Inserted 8gb sd card. No problems. 3.Loaded Tegra Zone games. Crash! Reboot! Heat up! Battery flat in a few minutes. Battery needed to be removed all the time to reboot! I started fix by simple means. 1.I removed the sd card. No more problems! Yet! Next will try root, and freeze CarHome app as recommended by Modaco website. Last will flash Modaco rom. Would prefer to use LG Gingerbread promised update OTA... Pros The phone is great! Build quality is excellent. The operations are snappy. HDMI mirroring better implemented than SGS2. Games better supported than SGS2. Cons I miss my trackball: copy and paste is difficult with Froyo's lack of “tab/indent” icons and 2x lack of trackball/joystick/dpad. There is a good “tap on phone side to move cursor sideways” feature, but it is limited when compared to Nexusone with 2.3.3. ...to be contd.
  15. Seems Govt. wants to stop business of all home grown cyber cafes and create a monopoly business model for large scale Corporate groups to create cyber cafe chains where users would be able to access only through prepaid photo cards (issued after verifying their details) valid for all cafes under the chain and all actions of the users would be recorded in the proxy servers. Sounds familiar. Conspiracy theory? Not really: Quote Short version is that the citizens asked for high speed internet years ago,but the BTC (big telecoms) refused. The citizen took responsibility built a better system at a lower price, all for themselves, and now the Gov of NC is allowing BTCs to steal the market that the citizen created. This isn't one corporation against another. The is the rights of the individual, in this case, a group of citizens, being taken away to make a corporation and politicians rich. http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/22/nc-governor-will-let-cable-backed-bill-restricting-municipal-bro/

LG Optimus 2X is so bad users have created an online petition Richard Goodwin knowyourmobile.com
  18. After 5 GB, the speed drops to 1x. After another block, it drobs to 128kbps,and so on. If you go to any zone without Docomo 3g (coverage is less) you must switch to Photon (longer tower reach). Now you start getting charged for every 5mb at .50p. Also if you decide to use the Photon mode within your 5gb, you will not get charged for Photon usage. The idea is to get Docomo usage to increase. It's not so popular because, like other GSM 3g, it is "bursty", while CDMA is constant. This is why CDMA is so popular with download freaks! Leading to network congestion. The 3g is good for browsers whose download is mostly intermittent: between mouse clicks. Makes sense? PS Google zte ac30 unlock codes for unlocking sites. I will not be unlocking unless I go for a foreign trip. The customer care told me not to lose the Photon RUIM. It cannot be re-issued. BTW, I have Rel USB modem also in office USB router (Sapido rules!). RCOM EVDO is great. I don't use speedcheck, in the real world Youtube playback makes more sense. TATA Docomo: best performer/less coverage RCOM EVDO: 2nd Best/more coverage Photon: Least smooth/less coverage
  19. Read the tariff on docomo website!
  20. source :: http://telecomtalk.info/tata-docomo-launches-3g-wi-fi-hub-dual-mode-device-for-rs-5999/62690/ It's a fantastic and fabulous move by TATA. It's a pioneering move by TATA. It ensures nation wide on-net data roaming for their HSDPA customers. It's a convergence at its best.  :hi2: :hi2: http://tatadocomo.com/3g-wifi-hub.aspx It's an ZTE product http://tatadocomo.com/downloads/Quick%20guide_3G%20Wifi%20hub.PDF The only missing thing from TATA is their poor EVDO coverage in comparison with RCOM and MTS. Hope RCOM and BSNL being other dual-tech operators will follow suit sooner than later.... It's time for us to wait for ZTE to launch the same product in open market sooner. Let us hope and pray that this will lead to launch of such dual-mode 3G handsets sooner in the market.... Am using this product with my Nexus One. Excellent performer! 7.2 mbps downloadsin GSM mode and signal is good in my area. It comes with 2 sims, Docomo gsm amd photon RUIM cdma. I have not activated cdma, as it is only 3.1 mbps and costlier to use. It is locked for TATA only, bt many unlockers are available on Web.
