The Google nexus's page in Google play can only be viewed through U.S proxies, but you can still buy it if you either have U.S addressed cards or if you are availing services like Unlocked.com, the price at which it is being offered is outstanding as it is only $100 more than what Verizon customers paid back in November for verizon Nexus with 2-year contract. As far as Google drive is concerned, there was lot of confusion in the prices of G-drive services as some people got it's services for lot cheaper than what the official prices were given out(given below), I read that many people got 20 GB/$5, 80GB/$20, 200GB/$50 (all per year plans) The official price list is as follows: *5GB for free 25GB for $2.49 per month *100GB for $4.99 per month *1TB for $49.99 per month Enterprise-focused data allowances are also available, offering up to 16TB of space. Upgrading to a paid plan will automatically boost you up to 25GB of Gmail storage, too. For some people Google drive is not yet opened, including me, whenever I sign into G-drive, it says it will inform me when my G-drive is setup. ANOTHER GOOD CLOUD OFFER: Microsoft Sky drive started offering free 25GB for all it's sky drive users.

And also HTC One X is available on pre-order @ radioshack.com for just $149 with 2-years contract, $50 less than the normal price $199. The offer price is valid until May 6.

I recommend galaxy nexus considering the huge size of galaxy note, I've seen people using galaxy note, it's size really makes u feel awkward when u want to make calls with it, also people who got hands on both those devices prefers nexus again b'cause of the usability issues with note b'cause of its size. Although specs wise not much difference between them, the galaxy nexus camera is mediocre. If u can live with the humongous size of the note then go for note. Otherwise go for nexus you can save 5.5k as well.- 6,376 replies

@the king: using connectify doesn't need to play with any advanced settings, just install it, start the application, give the network a name, choose the internet connection(device) which you want to share over the wifi created by connectify, choose the device which you want to use to create new wifi with the help of connectify(this option is automatically selected by the connectify, & it would be the Wifi adapter of your system, if you have multiple wifi adaptors then you can choose your desired one) and lastly choose the security method to be used with the newly created wifi, prefer WPA2 personal, that's it you'll have a wifi network on which a single internet connection is shared that can be accessed by any device.

but device price of 8k is highly inexorable Oh OK I didn't know that but we used to pay around 3500/- for Evdo dongles, considering the amount of money they(airtel) put on 3g & 4g auctions & the fact they are the first to offer this service in India, the prices of devices are bound to be costlier, they should have offered CPE's on rental basis for nominal fee(I don't know they are doing or not) just as Bsnl did with their wimax services. If you compare Airtel 4G plans w.r.t. Airtel 3G plans. these plans are no doubt good. but device cost is high, coverage is poor, no backward compatibility of the devices, and post fUP 128kbps will keep many users at bay! I think the coverage, availability of devices from defferent vendors & devices with backward compatability all improve as the time goes, since this is new service you expect some issues with the coverage & devices availability. We are still facing these issues with 3g services in our country even a year or so after its started.

IS THIS HTC EVO 3D's SUCCESSOR OR 3D VERSION OF HTC EVO 4G LTE? As I mentioned in my above posts, recently HTC announced HTC EVO 4G LTE on sprint, so what's new in about that & why I'm making another post for the same news?, just jump to the 25 seconds section of the following video you will know what I want to tell you. The following video is a part of promotional videos of recently announced HTC EVO 4G LTE & it was released by none other than the HTC themselves, so there is no question of authenticity here. For those who doesn't want to view the video here is the snap of what could be the successor of HTC EVO 3D or a 3D version of HTC EVO 4G LTE. -
I'm quite surprised when I read the news about this as I thought RIL would be the first one to start 4G services in India. 6GB for 999/- is quite good if you take into consideration that we are paying 750/- for 5GB for EVDO plans, Can't expect more cheaper than that

@Ramesh - Airtel is quite gud in terms of quality & service, I've been using it since two years in my house & I must say overall our experience is quite good with them expect some very minor glitches, so I recommend Airtel

Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE: Two Days Ago Sprint & HTC announced the successor of their flagship phone HTC EVO 4G named as "HTC EVO 4G LTE". Although they put this phone under their HTC EVO family this is probably HTC ONE X version of Sprint as the specs suggests. HTC EVO 4G LTE has same specs as of AT&T version of HTC ONE X which is HTC ONE XL. As expected the form factor is different as the HTC EVO 4G LTE has no sim-card slot but has micro-sd card slot. But the main striking point of this phone is what sprint & HTC calls "HD Voice Technology" which gives some crystal clear, pin sharp voice clarity on Sprints LTE network. This one also has a "Kickstand" on the back of it, which is very nice & cool to have on any phone. The Specs: Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, integrated with Sense 4 4.7-inch HD super LCD display 1.5GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Processor Google Play offers more than 450,000 useful applications, widgets and games and lets you upload 20,000 of your songs to the cloud for free and stream them to your device Google+ Hangouts allowing video chat with a group of up to 10 friends Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, which allows the device to read information from everyday objects, like stickers and posters embedded with NFC chips Google Wallet enables the phone to be used like a wallet to make safe, secure purchases at hundreds of thousands of participating retailers using NFC Android Beam allows users to quickly share Web pages, apps and YouTube™ videos with friends using NFC by simply tapping phones together Google Mobile wireless services such as Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps with Navigation, Google Calendar, Voice Actions and YouTube Messaging – personal and business email and text messaging, as well as IM through Google Talk 3G/4G mobile hotspot capability, supporting up to 8 Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously Wifi – 802.11 a/b/g/n Advanced rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 lens, super-fast auto-focus, digital zoom and smart LED flash; HTC ImageSense to take great photos, in adverse conditions; front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording. The third phone in the HTC ONE line up is the "HTC ONE V" which is a entry-level phone, some say that the form factor of this phone is same as the "HTC Legend" which was released two years ago. This one has 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 3.7" Super LCD Display & 5 MP Camera. The Specs: Dimensions: 120.3 x 59.7 x 9.2mm Weight: 115g 3.7-inch TFT capacitive display (480 x 800) HTC Sense UI Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) 1GHz single-core Qualcomm processor 512MB RAM 4GB built-in storage 5-megapixel camera w/ LED flash and AF MicroSD card slot (up to 32GB) Bluetooth v4.0 w/ A2DP MicroUSB -

The Second Phone in the HTC ONE series is "HTC ONE S", it's a kind of mid-range phone in the HTC ONE lineup, it's fits between ONE X & ONE V. But don't be fooled by it's mid-range tag as it packs some powerful specs which can be compete with high-end phones of say 2-3 months ago(such is the pace with which the Android smartphone market is moving). According to the reviews it's one of the sleekest & sexiest phone you see until now. It has same Qualcomn Snapdragon 1.5 Ghz Dual Core Krait processor as the LTE(AT&T) model of the ONE X. It also has 4.3 Super AMOLED Display with qhd(540 x 960) resolution. It also has same camera as of ONE X. The Specs: Dimensions: 130.9 x 65 x 7.8mm Weight: 119.5g 4.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive display (540 x 960) HTC Sense v4.0 Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) 1GB RAM 16GB built-in storage Dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor GPU: Adreno 225 Bluetooth v4.0 w/ A2DP MicroUSB 8MP (rear) camera w/ AF and LED flash 1.3MP (front) camera 3.5mm headphone jack Beats audio -

HTC recently announced(in MWC 2012) their new flagship phone "HTC ONE X" as a part of their new series "HTC ONE", in this so called HTC ONE Series there are HTC ONE S, HTC ONE V & HTC ONE XL where HTC ONE S is a mid-range phone, HTC ONE V is an entry level phone. Some of these phones already released in the market. Here are the details: HTC ONE X or HTC ONE XL: Out of HTC ONE series the HTC ONE X is the flagship one, it has Nvdia Tegra 3 Quad core(penta-core, if you wanna call it) processor, and has an outstanding HD(720p) display which HTC calls as "Super LCD2" which is of non-pentile one(for your information). This display has already got excellent reviews for its quality, viewing angles & true colour production(no over-saturated colours as is the case with AMOLED Screens). All reviews say one thing that is the screen of HTC ONE X is the best in the Industry(as of now). And one of the striking aspect of this display is that there's virtually no space between the glass and the display, so the colors and icons seem to nearly be floating on top, which also helps to get some excellent viewing angles. To add to that it has one of the best camera around in the present smartphones which has 28mm lens and an f/2.0 aperture capable of shooting 1080p @30fps. HTC ONE XL is nothing but a LTE version of ONE X & bound for AT&T USA. HTC ONE XL has Qualcomn Snapdragon 1.5Ghz Dual Core processor because of Nvdia Tegra 3 processor's incompatability with LTE. The Specs: Dimensions: 134.36 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm Weight: 130g (w/ battery) 4.7-inch Super LCD2 capacitive touchscreen (720 x 1280) Corning Gorilla Glass Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Sense 4.0 Quad-core 1.5GHz Tegra 3 processor or Qualcomm Snapdragon (depending on LTE radio) GPU: ULP GeForce HTC ImageSense 1GB RAM 32GB built-in storage 8-megapixel (rear) camera w/ AF and LED flash 1.3-megapixel (front) camera Non-removable 1800mAh battery Bluetooth v4.0 w/ A2DP NFC capable MicroUSB 3.5mm audio output Beats audio -

with just 256MB Ram it would be very very slow. Add to that an outdated software(Froyo) & I'm sure it will die with that froyo only(no chance it will have an update to atleast GB). Better to spend some more money & buy those Allwinner cpu based tablets which have very good graphics capabilities along with up to date software(ICS) -

st_7 replied to caringlover's topic in General Technical Discussion
ok thanks for your suggestion, I'll immediately write to them, may be they don't consolidate shipments but as I said he(Karan Asrani) has told me that he will help in combining shipments if required and that too my two packages are just of 0.10lb + 0.20lb = 0.30lb. So that's why I asked them to send them as one. -

ShopAndShip / PPO Box & other package forwarders

SNS becoming bad day by day(atleast in my opinion), last week HP U.S has sent me a replacement of A.C adapter for my HP Touchpad(the original A.C adapter came faulty out of the box) the replacement was free as my TP under warranty. The A.C adapter can be split into two parts see the attached image, the HP U.S strangely shipped me the adapter in two packages (two packages in single shipment) I think by splitting the adapter into two , now sns people(karan asrani) telling me that they can't consolidate two packages even though they were delivered in single shipment at their NY Hub, interestingly the same guy told me (when I contacted him last month to convey my disappoint regarding my TP was being charged custom duties even after it as being declared under 10k) he can help in combining shipments if required but can't do anything about the custom duties. So now I've to pay around $24 for shipping + customs for an adapter that I could get for $10 + $2 shipping on ebay.com . The most disappointing thing is that he(Karan Asrani, SNS) didn't stand by his word. One more thing is that two day back I received an e-mail from Anuradha Iyer(SNS) regarding service tax which is increased to 12.36% from April 1,2012, but when I asked her what about customs duty on mobile accessories (which waived off in the budget) she told me that they haven't received any circular regarding that & as soon as they get it they will update accordingly. Very quick to charge people extra but not so in reducing the cost . -
