Coastal Andhra & Odisha Are Bracing For The Most Catestrophic Cyclone 'Phailin' As if the already messed up life of Coastal Andhra people(thanks to some arrogant trolls running the goverment & serving Sonia, Rahul Gandhi instead of serving the people) is not enough, they have to(along with their Odisha brethern) brace for another catestrophic event, in the form of super cyclone 'Phailin', that is headed for them. The 'Phailin' is expected to hit land between Kalingapatnam(Srikakulam Dist, AP) and Gopalapur(Odisha). This cyclone is so severe that it is the size of Katrina(Cat 5 Hurricane that devastated US in 2005) and according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center(JTWC) a Hawaii-based US Navy weather forecast outpost, this cyclone is a Category 4 at present and everything is going for it to become category 5(in hurricane scales) before landfall. The intensification of this cyclone is so severe that it gained around 80kph in just 12hours, which is termed as the rarest phenomena for any storm/cyclone. According to many ADT(Advanced Dvorak Technique) estimates of various weather agencies like JTWC, the cyclone has 917.5(MB-MilliBars) & 146.0 MPH (270 km/h) which makes it more devastating than the most devastating cyclone, 'The 1999 Odisha cyclone', that has hit Eastern Coast of India, in history. The irony is that our own weather men are very conservative and estimating this cyclone to be a cat 2(or 3 at max) at landfall , the estimation which is ridiculed by many world top weather agencies and say it will be atleast a cat 4 cyclone at the landfall. All in all, what I would like to say to all those forum members from the coastal line of Andhra & Odisha to be safe and warn your families & friends, who live there, to be safe. I hope God helps these people, facing this catestrophic cyclone. Source: Netweather & Google Search

Although there is some confusion what MS really asked HTC, (as I've stated in my previous post) I think they've asked HTC to put Windows Phone 8.1 on already existing hardware of their Android flagships like HTC One rather than a dual boot(its my opinion though). This means less R&D(much lesser, if at all, compare to what it takes for a completely new design) & very less or no licence fee at all, which results more profits for HTC. Exactly, this is what I'm trying to say in my last post. They may not be able to demand MS to give them money for making WP 8(8.1) phones as they are already giving incentives in the form of abolishing license fee. But HTC may use this opportunity to pursuade MS(& its soon to be acquired Nokia) to drop the case against their HTC One(& its variants until One Maxx). Recently, Nokia has won case to ban all the sales of HTC One & its variants in US, although HTC is challenging it in higher court, it is percieved to be a loosing battle for HTC.
  4. can you pls let us know your overall experience with this service in terms of rates(shipping & customs), speed & customer service?. I see that it is a joint venture of comGateway.com & Paypal.com and they quote higher shipping charges ($24 is minimum rate of them) while PPOBox.com & SNS quote $10(minimum rate). There is no sales tax in using hopshopgo.com(even for purchases from the sites other than ebay.com) so it should be cheaper but I don't think it will be much cheaper than PPOBox.com because as I said their shipping charges are higher. And for me personally, everything that is involved Paypal is costlier, I avoid them(paypal) as much as possible.

I don't think so, ofcourse it depends how well they implement it. Heck they just posted $100 million loss for the thrid quarter of this calender year, wherein it should have been the profitable quarter for them considering the success of HTC One. But the loss was due to messy launch of HTC One, surprisingly they are still facing serious bottlenecks in sourcing the material(outer case) for HTC One Mini and not able to meet the demand for those devices. And if they can implement this properly(what Microsoft is asking them) it will be a completely profitable one for them. I think what Microsoft is asking them is to put Windows Phone 8 on the same hardware as their Android flagships(like One) instead of making a completely new design or phone for Windows Phone 8 or putting a truly dual boot phone. And you might have read it already that there is been a rumour that HTC already making a Windows flagship phone based on the same hardware as HTC One, the rumoured phone is called 'Harmony', with same specs of Android version of ONE but with Windows Phone 8. So, even before MS has approached HTC, they are already in workings of the same thing that Microsoft asking them. And there are many goodies on offer here, MS is willing to go down as far as completely abolishing the license fee

Microsoft Persuading HTC to offer Windows Phone OS As Second Choice To Its Android Customers Looks like Microsoft is becoming more & more desperate in getting its Windows Phone, which hasn't been able to attract more people as Microsoft expected or wanted, to take off. We already know that Microsoft snatched Nokia's Phone business to propel its Windows Phone OS growth. Now according to the latest reports that are being published in various tech blogs like, GSM Arena, Engadget, the company(Microsoft) is puruading HTC(which itself making absymal business, just posted $101 milliion losses in the for the third quarter of this calendar year) to put Windows Phone OS on its Android offerings. Altough it is not yet clearly known how Microsoft wants HTC to implement this but they are offering HTC very low licence fee or even completely abolishing it as an incentive. Microsoft officials are reported be planning to visit Taiwan to speak to HTC top brass on this. The idea behind this thinking of Microsoft is that many HTC Android devices buyers(althoug very low in number compared to Samsung customers) will be able to try out Windows Phone OS so that it gets traction or familiarity among thos users who then may recommend it to their friends, family members or colleagues. This may backfire as well because the same people who Microsoft wants to attract through this route may never think of using Windows Phone OS & may recommend people in their closer circles to not use the same(Windows Phone OS) if they dislike it. Windows Phone OS has been applauded by many as simple to use and buttery smooth OS(the reason it can run so well with out any lag even on a year or two old specs) but not been received well by non-geeks because of the lack of apps and by geeks because of its closed environment which means less tinkering... less choices. 7. Rajan Ji, we know you are a 'CID' in searching for better deals of any products of any company, but please don't go hard at them(companies) by calling them dons & decoits.
  8. As long as gurus get it working on our imported 4g handsets, it's great, else we will all require new gear to utilise the game change. Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2 As far as I know the mobiles that support the frequency(2300Mhz), TDD LTE technology & SIM Unlocked(or I should say network unlocked) will have no problem to be used with Reliance Jio 4G.
  9. Is this will be paid or a free app?, if it is(will be) a free app how Blackberry(RIM) makes money out of it?. I've never used Blackberry services like BBM so don't know how it works.
  10. Apple Announces iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C

The core count(number of cores) in a processor does count only if it is to be used with multi-threaded applications, this has been the point of discussion for the last couple of years in the Android world too, where there aren't enough applications that truly need multiple cores. And 64-bit architecture in the not so matured 64-bit platform does more bad than good because, for a 32-bit app or a driver, both 64-bit & 32-bit libraries will have to be loaded on to the main memory. More usage of ram for the same app than a normal 32-bit platform(if you remember this was the problem that desktop users faced when the 64-bit architecture was first introduced in operating systems like XP & Vista, no true 64-bit drivers & apps so more laggy performance). But Apple somehow managed to produce a SoC that delivers performance more than its counterparts in the mobile world just at the base clocks(A7 SoC max clock speed 1.3Ghz whereas Snapdragon 800 SoC clocks at a staggering 2.3Ghz). It has come very close to the performance of Intel's Bay Trail(which considered to be the beast to beat in the coming months). This is due to two reasons, one is the 64-bit processor, which means more wider general registers & float-point registers along with the increase in the number of registers and two is the amount of optimization that Apple has made to take full advantage of the SoC. If you read reviews of Moto X(Motorola's latest flagship), it trounces(in many benchmarks) every other Android flagship of this year(from the first of the year) which features Snapdragon 600 SoC even though it(Moto X) has the last year's processor, Snapdragon S4 Pro. It is just because of Moto X fully & better optimized for the Snapdragon s4 Pro than any other smartphone was done. M7 co-processor doesn't help in the performance of Iphone 5s, it is just there to do works that don't need the muscle of main processor. Instead of wasting more power in waking up the main processor, Apple implemented M7 co-processor for all the works that need very low power so that the main processor can be put in deep sleep state(which saves or improves battery life). Again, I'll compare with what Motorola did with Moto X, one of the most talked about feature in Moto X is always on screen, screen always doesn't shut off completely when it's locked, instead it shows the notifications on the lock screen at minimum brightness when the display is infomred by the host of sensors that the phone is out of pocket or bag or the phone is put face(screen) up on the table. If you put phone face down on the table, the display shuts off completely, same is done when the phone goes into pocket or bag. So all these features are implemented by Contextual Awareness processor(TI MSP430). All the sensors, that feed the information & help the display to decide when to light up to provide notifications, use Contextual Awareness processor but not the main Snapdragon S4 pro processor because they don't need the muscle of S4 Pro. Same goes with the always on voice feature(say 'Ok Google Now' to unlock the device or do other things without touching it), which is implemented by another co-processor called 'Natural Language Core'(TI C55x).

Real World Photos & Video Of Nexus 5 The Nexus 5 leaks are coming out almost daily for the last few days. 15. Apple Announces iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C

No, 5C alone is priced around 4,488 Chinese Yuan in china((the main targeted market of 5C along with other low end markets) which translates around 46K in Indian currency. And there is no Iphone 5, Iphone 5C replaced Iphone 5, so atleast officially Iphone 5 will not be sold. And this is the reason, high price of 5C, why(along with no changes in screen size or resolution in atleast 5S that I talked about in my previous post) some of the people in the tech industry as well as the market brokerage houses like Nomura are disappointed & down-graded the Apple's share. And just as opined, many market pandits are of the same view Apple could've sold 5C much cheaper, which would've really attracted many people from many emerging markets. I'm afraid Apple has missed the opportunity once again to storm into low end markets along with gaining back the market share in the higher end market that it has lost in the last few years. Again, most Apple users don't care whether they have world's first 64-bit capable OS & SoC, instaed almost all Apple buyers are those who fond of looks(which includes beautiful & high resolution screens) & simplicity in its usage. By simply putting a big screen, no not talking about those phablet sizes but atleast a screen of size betwee 4.3"-4.7", and a 1080p resolution in 5S along with selling 5C for around $450, Apple could've thumped almost all the competition in both low end & higher end markets, atleast for next few months.
  16. Apple Announces iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C

The issue some people raising is why Apple still want to sell Iphone 5C 16GB @ $549 without contract(32 GB costs still higher) and call it the budget phone. Some of the people from tech industry argue that, although they are praising Apple for A7 & Touch Id implementation in 5S, Iphone 5C does cost much lesser than what Iphone 5 has costed Apple to manufacture and hence they could've easily pass those extra profit, from the already mammoth profit Apple makes on each phone(previous generations) and could've offered the 5C for much lesser price than what it is. It only helps Apple in pentrating more low end markets which eventually may upgrade to higher end Iphones in the future. And then there is the same screen issue, Apple could've increased the screen size & resolution(atleast in higher end model 5S) which again attracts more people even from the Android community to atleast try out what Apple is able to dish out.

I have purchased the same last week from same seller. @ Inception, I don't know what is your usage pattern or for what you intend to use the laptop with dedicated graphics, but if it is for games then I would suggest you not to go for Core i3, go for atleast core i5, no matter how good the graphics card is Core I3 will become a huge bottleneck hence you can't even use the full potential of a good graphic card. And secondly, the above recommendation from Santosh Royal has a good processor but a crappy video card in the form of GT635 with GDDR3 memory(GT635 only comes with GDDR3 memory). It doesn't do good even if you want to play many good games at medium settings. If your dedicated graphics requirement is for gaming, then I suggest you to go for a laptop with atleast GT650(even better if you go with GDDR5 memory) & an I5 processor. If you don't intend to play any games or intend to play very light games, then it is better to go with a laptop with no dedicated graphics at all. Also be careful the processor model also, there will be ULV(Ulta Low Voltage) models even in Core I5 & Core I7, which are not good for gaming purposes no matter how good the graphic card is. These ULV processors, basically the processors with very low Thermal values(TDP), intended to be used in Ultrabooks where battery life is important than the performance. For example: see this laptop @ Ebay(India) Core I5 4th Generation, AMD Radeon 8670M(better than GT635M) for just 34k(after applying 10% flat discount that Santosh has mentioned in his post). But if you see the specs carefully, the processor is Core I5 4200U, the 'U' indicates that it is a ULV processor so not a good one for gaming.

HTC's Top Brass Caught Stealing Trade & Design Secrets If the slump, that HTC is already in, is not enough there are some news breaking out that some of its top brass from its design and R&D have involved in stealing trade & design secrets. The persons involved are Vice President of Product Design Thomas Chien, R&D director Wu Chien Hung and design team senior manager Justin Huang (who also personally sketched out the the design of HTC's latest flagishp One). With Chien and Wu are under custody, the others have been released on bail. The matter is reported to be under investigation under Taiwan's highest investigation bureau. Another shocking titbit for HTC, that has come from this, is that these three Chien, Wu & Huang have planned to setup a new design company, that is already registered under the name of 'Xiaoyu'. It is also being reported that these three officials are also being investigated for their false commission claims for the aluminium chassis design of HTC One. The HTC One is designed in house but these three greedy men have used an external design firm to charge HTC to the sum of $3,34,000(may be to used in setting up their design firm). Wondering how they were caught, apparantly the reports suggest that Chien was caught when he was downloading some secret files releated to the UI design of yet to be announced or released Sense 6.0 UI. They were planning to resign from HTC after claiming their mid-year bonuses.
