I am using reliance GPRS in mumbai and I have found that I am being charged 4 times higher than the actual data traffic. I should be charged @ 10p/10kb so for 300kb of data I should be charged Rs 3 but I find that I am being charged more than Rs 12. I am using Reliance GSM only for GPRS as I use CDMA for voice and SMS usage. Any one facing the same problem.....

I am able to use WAP and browse all the pages, but am unable to use Opera or other net applications. can anyone give me the settings for the same. I am using Nokia 3120 classic.

Can anyone send me APN settings of reliance GPRS in mumbai. I am able to browse through the handsets native browser but am not able to use Opera or YahooGo! and other applications.

I would like to know one thing is Caller Id spoofing possible. For a hacker or a cloner it is possible, but can a casual user spoof caller id off the shelf???

Go to sara/sahara market (mussafir khana). Chargers by the brand name of lucia or lucie (something) works with classic. all classic chargers are available there. hope it works for you.

If you have GPRS then go to http://zyb.com, create an account and syncronise your phone book. then from the new phone download the phone book from zyb MTNL provides phone book backup facility for a fee, but this is possible only on symbian S60 phones and not S40 phones. A crude method is move contacts to SIM card, place the SIM in new phone and move them to the new phone. NO other method I can think of. If your new phone was also nokia then you could have used PC suite.

These banks are very notorious for such tactics. THey do not present the 1st chq at all. Phone them up and tell them to cancel the card and threaten them to go to consumer court if you received further calls. Ask them to rectify the error and take the transaction ID from the person, further inform them that you are recording the call as a proof. Offence in this case is the best defence.

I have Nokia 3125 in Mumbai. I would like to convert the same to Garuda. Is this possible? where can it be done? Will it be RUIM capable as Garuda is now giving RUIM for Rs 175 only and Rs 1500 talktime to be used in 10 months.

3110c is the best below 5k with all these features. I have been using it since last 6 months. very much satisfied.

Go to sara/sahara market near crawford market, buy a MMC card unlocker. Costs about Rs 200. unlock the card. format the card in a normal card reader. this should solve your problem. One thing I have learnt is that, never format your MMC card in any device as this locks the card to the device ??!!??@@$ Format your card in a card reader. I have found grey coloured, pen type cards to be good. Multicard Readers of tech.com are also good. Of course, for camera the card has to be formatted in the camera itself.

This emulator is from nokia's own developer forum but it is huge. where as midp2exe is very small and online version works from within IE with Java. However you can not preview themes in it. It is pure jar emulator. which you had inquired for.

There is an application called midp2exe. I do not have the link but you can google it. the app is freeware. There is also an online app which runs from within IE but requires Java.

for the same reason i shifted to GSM. To me only respectable hadset available was 6275. however with same features i got 3110c at half rate. I converted to MTNL. It has a good coverage. They dont cheat. it is the cheapest among GSM. I get BSNL when I travel, that gives me Pan India coverage. added benefit of GSM, if the instrument is spoilt you can transfer your SIM to any instrument till the time you buy another whereas in RIM if the handset is not working you have to go to webworld to transfer the no to another instrument, which leads to panic buying as your no stops working !!!!!!

Where in Mumbai can I get my Reliance Nokia Set get serviced (other than nokia SC). I am getting too many dropped calls and I think the problem is with my handset. I went to mussafir khana but they refused reliance handsets. Can the same person convert my handset into RUIM. My handset is 3125.

go to www.getjar.com and look for the application that you need. I am using mDrawer by satanduck which is totally free. there are other application also, but I find this to be very good. My phone is 3125 which is series 40 and the same should work on 3110c. do let me know if it works on 3110c.

I find lots of people hanging their mobiles in belt clipper which closes with a magnet. Does this magnet affect the mobile antena and signal strength in any way?

One way to avoid it is not to clear that screen. Once the location is shown it will not repeat the procedure. But if you clear the screen it will again appear. I find that it is not because of signal but on account of continuous polling with the different towers. If the tower changes and the location is not polled the cell repolls the location and shows the same. This happens on all the RIM phones. e.g. i had gone to surat and while coming back from surat even after reaching vapi, my cell displayed the location as surat as I had not cleared the screen, but on repolling it updated the screen with new location. This is not a bug but a feature

Buy CA-42 and use MobiMB. Full version is available on this forum somewhere. Not sure.

You can buy Cheetah Brand CA42 cable from Lamington Road. Chinese brands do not work with 3125. Install the drivers from the CD. No need to install the RConnect application if you are not connecting to the net. Install PC suite. It installs its own drivers but in connection wizard it will show both DKU5 and CA42 as installed. Connect using CA42. Better still use MobiMB and transfer the wallpapers and ringtones. PCsuite does not copy the ringtones to Default tones folder. MobiMB does.
