Lenovo in Feb announced that the will be releasing CDMA+GSM phones in India - Source Are the phones already here? Recently my Dad went to a Lenovo store and there he was shown a handset which was Dual Sim. So I asked him to visit again and get more details. Today he visited it again and noted down the phone names and prices. Lenovo Mobiles Models Price ---------- ------------- A60+ Rs. 6500/- S560 Rs. 14499/- P700i Rs. 11800/- S880 Rs. 16990/- S890 Rs. 18800/- Now on checking on reputed sites I see that most of them are Dual Sim GSM phones, but still Lenovo Store employees claim them to be otherwise. All the above phones are having a real good spec and very attractive price points. Does anybody have any further information on the phones that CDMA+GSM phones Lenovo plans to release?

Recently purchased an S2 Plus handset. All was working fine. Suddenly the mic of the handset in normal mode stopped working. When put on loud speaker it worked well. What could be the problem and the possible solution for it? How can the mic work in loud speaker mode and not in the normal mode? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

I think this must have been the problem cause on putting the headset in and out a couple of times, the phone started respinding normally.

Now that Nexus 4 is retailing in India, would you still prefer to buy it from India where you have to pay 6k more or get it from the US for 20k odd.

Desire VC Selling for 13,600 INR. Seems like a good deal esp for people using data on CDMA.

The problem is that they have only boxed models and not open models. Also I highly doubt them to allow us to put sims in as usually inserting sim means that the warranty period for the phone has started. I have been also told that in reputed stores that have sample phones on display, they box the phone and sell it to buyers if they are very keen to buy it and that given model is out of stock with them.

Like the S3 duos, there are many other phones which work on CDMA and GSM in China. Can these phones if brought to India be used directly out of the box or, will they need some work to be done on them to make them work in India.

Source Happened to click on Special Privileges on RCOM website. There under CDMA handset, two devices, SM300 and SM900 are listed as Dual Sim Android Handsets. Not Much Details are mentioned on the website regarding them. SM300 - Description Android 2.3, 3G, Smartphone, 3.5" Capacitive Touchscreen, WiFi b/g/n, Dual SIM, Dual camera, Flash etc. SM900 - Description Android, 3G, Smartphone, 4.3", Capacitive touchscreen, Dual SIM, Dual camera Does anybody have any other details on them.

Samsung did evolution rather than revolution!

Hey guys, needed some advice. Please suggest some good brand of AA battery along with the rating that would be good to use in a Point and Shoot camera without viewfinder and a powerful optical zoom. At the same time do suggest of rechargeable holder for it. Also advice on how to store the battery so that it doesn't get discharged quickly when the camera is not in use.

Samsung has released a dual sim smart phone cdma+gsm variant of S3 in China. Specs are similar to S3. Will there be a significant reduction in battery consumption if one is to access internet only through 1X. Also I wanted to know, on phones activated with EVDO, is it possible to change the settings such that we connect only through 1X.

I have never faced a problem of receiving calls when the data is on. Both in Karnataka and Maharashtra.

I have a Galaxy Pop CDMA handset. I have gotten conf call activated with RCom. Whenever I get a call while I'm busy, if I try to pick up one call the other gets cut. Also when on one call I'm unable to add callers to the connection to make a conference call. Is there a problem with Samsung Devices and they not supporting the same, cause I asked my friend who has a Galaxy S2 GSM and he too was getting similar problems. If so, is there any way in which this can be rectified?

There are HTC One V CDMA handsets being sold on ebay. You could consider that too as the One V is a very good device. Also backberry is planning to launch new devices soon. But not too sure if they would fall in ur given budget.

My father has been using a Galaxy Y CDMA from the past three months now. He hasn't had any complaints against it. Has been giving good battery backup of 2-3 days with normal usage. Also it can have EVDO activated on it to get good internet speeds on it.

I have till now used Galaxy Pop CDMA and Galaxy Y CDMA. I have been facing this problem everytime I try and use the gps to find my location. When just the GPS is on, the device takes a long time to find location and most of the time it says that the device is unable to find location. Then when I use the wireless networks( Which I understand is agps - correct if I am wrong), it gives a location. But the locations is very broad and covers like half a city. Have all the ppl using CDMA devices faced the same problem? Can anybody suggest a solution for this?

Even on wifi I have observed same. But on EVDO data it shows a more central location. Like the probable place where the data server is located for Reliance. This is very annoying as I am not able to use the phone for finding out where I am especially cause I am in a new city.

I found a link on GSM arena with HTC planning to release a new CDMA handset. Hope this comes to India. http://www.gsmarena....v_cdma-5106.php Looks wise looks just similar to Desire SV. But has a little specs better than it.

So this phone never got released in India! Will be an instant sell out if they release it here, especially now considering that the data plans on reliance are good, and give you speeds matchin to that of 3G.

What about things like battery? How long does it last? And does it get heated up a lot when we are using multiple application. Has the company also announced till when and till what OS is the company going to support the phone?

Can we please get a review of the Desire VC, so that few of our questions can be answered like is it worth the cost of 20k and also is 512mb ram enough for multitasking on this phone without experiencing hanging or slowing down of phone.

A month ago my phone(Corby Speed SCH-F339) was stolen. I recently purchase a new device Samsung Galaxy Pop CDMA. A week later a purchased a OMH SIM as well. Their instructions were to call *228 and follow the procedure. I did the same, and it said that your phone could not be activated, even though after that i have been able to make/receive both call and messages. I am assuming that this means that while my number is activated my EVDO services are not. So either i need to request CC or visit reliance world and give a request there or follow the procedure by Amit Jain. Please Confirm to this statement. Also I got a message from reliance saying that i have got free 10GB of usage for 2 months. Now when i activated the Use Packet Data option on my phone under Mobile Network Settings, I was able to access net. I checked if i could connect to the net on my phone as well as tethered my laptop using wi-fi to the phone and use net. I was able to do both but on checking balance for both it was deducted from my main account as Network Usage Charges. There was not even an KB of deduction from my data balance. Then i used a cable and connected the phone to my laptop and used NetConnect Dialer( To Do this u need to first activate Dial-up networking under Mobile network settings ). After just randomly surfing the net, when i checked my balance, i see this time round its been deducted from the 10GB. But then again what i observed was that it was connected through 1X rather than EVDO, so the net speed was very slow. So can the people on this forum help me by answering the following questions. - How do I get faster speeds when using my phone as a dial-up modem and connecting to the internet? - How do I configure my phone such that I can get high speed internet on my phone for browsing/downloading and its usage is deducted from my data balance, than my main balance? - Do I need to do any other settings on my phone so that when I connect my laptop using wi-fi to my phone to access net, that i get high speed internet on my phone for browsing/downloading and its usage is deducted from my data balance, than my main balance?
