  2. Problem With The Windows Xp Help Me

OK! Other solution absolutely for a newbie... Just install Separate DOS as I suggested in my 2nd option. It'll automatically add an entry for it in the XP boot loader. Now u hv to do only is to install win 98 using bootable CD. Everything will be allright. Cauz after installing DOS and then windows 98, the XP boot loader will be not overwritten and u can boot in both OS (98 and XP) without ne problem... So what u hv to do is: 1) Install DOS then 2) Install windows 98 Thats it... PS: I hv checked it so many times. Don't worry. Benefit is that u'll not hv to format XP and reinstall it and u'll not loose ne installed s/w or data.
  3. Problem With The Windows Xp Help Me

  18. Terminal Services On Windows 2000 Pro

U can do following: 1.) You can install VNC. It will allow you to do most of the functions of terminal services. it will work with any other computer that has VNC installed. Alternatively you can install PCAnywhere and set it up via TCP/IP. 2.) You can download msrdpcli.exe from microsoft. This is the XP version of Terminal services and will work on Win 2000.
  19. Windows Tips-n-Tricks

How to replace the boot screen in Windows XP Boot screen is actually a file ntoskrnl.exe, which is situated in %windir%\system32\ folder. There r many ways to change it! A.) D/l a readymade ntoskrnl.exe file from net, like from http://www.themexp.org Then 1. Backup (copy) the file %windir%\system32\ntoskrnl.exe (most likely C:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe). 2. Download the ntoskrnl.exe (most of the time it'll be a zip file) to your computer. 3. Extract ntoskrnl.exe to a directory other than %windir%\system32. 4. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode (hit F8 before the boot screen) or into true DOS (from a boot disk). 5. Overwrite the file %windir%\system32\ntoskrnl.exe (which should have been backed up) with the extracted exe. 6. Reboot your computer as you normally would. B.) U can use s/w, which can automatically do the same. Like Style Xp: http://www.tgtsoft.com/ Boot Skin: http://www.stardock.com/products/bootskin/ C.) There is nother way! Create a 16 color (4-bit) 640x480 bitmap, name it Boot.bmp and put it in c:\windows. then edit the boot.ini file. add /bootlogo /noguiboot to the entry of ur XP.

  21. All About Linux

First give the following command in console: #uname -r -p It shows the kernel version and then download the matching ntfs-kernel rpm and install it from: http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/downloads.html Then create a directory for mount $mkdir /mnt/ntfsdrive after then edit /etc/fstab and add the details something like /dev/hda1 /mnt/ntfsdrive ntfs ro,umask=0222 0 0 you can also specify uid and gid if you want. where I assume that hda1 is the partition that you want to mount and ntfsdrive is the destination folder for mounting. upon reboot, you will be able to access your selected windows partition from linux. But remember that Linux doesn't have write access to ntfs partitions. PS: Writing to NTFS is not enabled by default in linux distro's, as its not considered fully stable yet. You could use something like Captive NTFS. However, I suggest that you use a tool like explore2fs to copy the files from the linux partitions to windows, from within windows. < Post Edited as per request >
