  1. Sachin, I assume that the cable you are using has a rectangle box in between. If yes than this is a Serial cable with a USB interface. That means the first half is a Usb to Serial convertor & 2nd half is serial cable for LG phone. I have PM you the drivers. First install the PL 2303 driver which is for Usb to Serial convertor, which will recognize your cable. don't connect the phone yet. Then install the serial driver of LG RD 5130 which is actually a rconnect dialer for LG5130. Follow the instructions & connect the phone when asked to. At the end it will says that the driver is not installed, but just ignore that & re-start you PC. This is really strange but this is how it worked for me. Then Once you install these drivers as per my instructions, you will not get this error "USB port not found" again. Remember to uninstall any other drivers you may have installed to facilitate a clean install. Hope this helps. Thanks.
  2. Rd5340/7130 Usb Datacable

Data cables for LG are actually serial cables witha USB interface becoz LG phones only recognize serial cables. But since newer laptops do not have a 9 pin serial com port, you get a 2-in-1 cable i.e a usb to serial converter & serial datacable for LG phones. Hence the rectangle box in the center. You need to use only a serial driver to make that cable work.
  3. @Sachin Jain, It is not clear which type of cable & drivers you have actually used. If you have recd an installation CD alongwith the USB cable then the serial drivers (for LG 5130) should be found in the 'LGCOM' directory as I have already mentioned before. Now uninstall all the drivers you may have installed & send me your e-mail so that I can PM you the drivers I used. Also make sure Bluetooth is off & you follow steps # 4 & 5. Thanks, Yunus.
  4. @ Shantanu, I am using LG6600 since the last 20 days & I feel it will meet almost all of your requirements. The only grey area is the battery life, but since the phone can be charged using the USB cable while you connect to the net thru rconnect, you will not run out of the battery so soon. Rconnect can also be connected thru blurtooth. Yunus.
  5. Not Able To Detect Usb Cable

Snehal, You will have to install driver for serial cable even if you are using a USB cable. See my post in LG6600 for complete details. Follow the same method to connect your 6250.
  6. works perfectly for me. Nothing like you mentioned happens !!
  7. No. Sync is possible only thru Data Cable
  8. After lot of R&D since last 15 Days, I have finally succeeded in syncing LG6600 with PC using data cable with a USB interface. First a fact about the data Cable. The USB Data cables for LG phones available in the market is actually a serial cable with a USB interface. It's actually a 2-in1 cable i.e a USB to serial converter & serial data cable with a connector for LG phones on the other end. This is the reason the USB driver does not work. ( I wonder if this fact is known by LG techies !! ) Step by Step Guide : 1) Use a USB cable meant for 5130 if you can't find one for 6600 as the socket on the phone for data cable is same(or any other LG handset as I suspect all must be same) 2) Install driver for USB to Serial converter cable. Google for "PL-2303" & you will find the driver. (If requested I can upload it here also) 3) Install driver for LG serial cable. (you will find this in the "LGCOM" directory on the installation CD which comes along with the cable). Again I used the driver meant for 5130 but I guess any other model will do. But it is necessary that you install driver for serial cable & not USB cable 4) Go to Menu--->Settings--->Line Speed & set it to 115K 5) Now go to configurations in LG sync manager, on communications setting tab select the port where u have inserted the cable & select communication type as serial. Now Run the sync manager & you are all set to connect to your PC !!!
  9. Has anyone succeeded in uploading the address book by any means on this handset ?
  10. I have been able to use opera with Rel mobileworld connection on PDA & firefox / IE on PC with internet sharing. Just use proxy server "wapgw.ricinfo.com:8080" & you are on your way. The only problem is in downloading mails, for that you have to use Netconnect with your mobile # as usrname & pass This problem is since last 3-4 days. Earlier all browsers, outlook etc use to work flawlessly both on PDA & PC without any proxy settings using Rel Mobileworld. I think this is not a problem with the server, but a ploy by reliance trying to stop us DAPO users using free internet thru Rel Mobileworld. Yunus.
  11. I have finally managed to get back all my contacts (500 +) by flashing my PPC back to kirvin's where I could sync without any problems & then saved all my data by pimbackup & again switched back to hetal's ROM where I could restore my data with pimbackup. I am still at loss why active sync does not work with hetal's ROM. Anybody else got this similar problem ?? Hetal's Rom has lot of goodies pre-installed & I am still exploring but one thing I sorely miss is the original HTC smart dialer which came with original rom from reliance & was also there in Kirvin's. Can anyone upload that here ? All in all a good update !! Hetal you surely Rock man !!!!! Yunus
  12. Hetal, I have tried every possible ways like reflashing ppc, re-installation of active sync, but still can't get my contacts back. can't figure out what's wrong. I guess I should try syncing on some other PC. Meanwhile, if I flash my PPC again with Kirvin's AKU 3.5, will it be a problem ?? Yunus.
  13. Hetal, I have flashed my PPC with your ROM & now I am not able to sync my contacts with active sync. The error reported is "ActiveSync encountered a problem on the desktop. Support Code : 85010014" I have installed the latest version of activesync (4.5) & also re-flashed my PPC with your ROM after I got the error the first time. But the same problem persists. is this problem could be on my laptop ? Everything else works fine on the PPc after flashing your ROM except active sync. PLEASE HELP !! Yunus.
  14. Free Net Surfing Using Ppc 6700

Hello Guys Iam not sure if PPC 6700 users are already aware of this, that one can surf the internet on laptop / pc absolutely free of cost using Reliance Mobileworld connection (with username of UTS@relianceinfo.com) as the default connection for html browser, e-mail settings on the PPC & sharing the same with internet sharing to use on the laptop / PC. Reliance mobileworld is WAP connection which is free as of now, so no need to use NET connect with your mobile # as username & password which is ofcourse chargeable. I surfed the net & downloaded a lot of stuff last month, but not a single penny was charged in the bill, so you can try this out & save a lot of money !!!!!!! Update on 12:27pm Just went thru Hetal's post in the technical programming section regarding this & from the discussion there, I can conclude that this will probably work only for DAPO customers as Rworld is free for them. I can be sure it is free for DAPO at least as I have a DAPO plan & not a single penny was charged in my last month's bill. Other plan customers can try this out, but they may be charged @ 10p/KB. 17. Utstarcom - 6700 Aku 3.5 Hacked

I have been trying to download AKU 3.5 from the link given by mmjain since last 8 days, but I always receive error that source not found. I request those who have already downloaded to upload on rapidshare Yunus
  18. Hi Sameer, Can this Data plan be used for surfing thru laptop also ? Or this is valid only when connecting to net from ppc6700 only ? Yunus
  19. Software For Ppc2005

  20. All About Nokia 6265

Hi Schumi, Rconnect has started via BT now. All I did was simply un-install & re-intall Bluesoleil software & DUN started working perfectly ! One problem still remains....Can't connect my 6265 thru pc suite via BT. It says no BT devices found. I tried thru IR & it's working perfectly....What is wrong here ? Yunus
  21. All About Nokia 6265

I have already posted the steps on Page 4,post number 48 under this topic only.Anyways I am listing the steps again : 1.Activate R-Connect on your number(It should be already activated). 2.Connect the handset and the laptop via Bluetooth. 3.Goto Control Panel>Printer and Other hardware>Phone n Modem options>Click on Modem tab>Click on the Bluetooth modem(Bluetooth DUN modem mostly)>Click on Properties>Advanced>In Extra Commands type at+crm=1;+cso=33. 4.Click on the Bluetooth Dial up Networking service which will be there in your Bluetooth software.Enter your username and password(Your mobile number without 0) and the Dialling number #777. 5.Thats it,I think you should get connected after you follow these steps. Hi Schumi, I tried everything you have mentioned here abt connecting to rconnect with BT, but have failed so far. All other BT services like object push, file transfer is possible except DUN. This is the error I get Connection Error 633 : The modem (or other connecting Decice) is already in use or not configured properly. I use a Bluesoleil dongle on my laptop. One more thing, I can use rconnect thru Infrared so username/pass/phonenumber settings are correct. Can you point out what else could be wrong? Yunus.

  23. New Problem With Lg Rd-5130 Using R-connect

Hi Sumit, Welcome to the world of LG-RD5130 R-Connect woes!!! I have also been through all that you have experienced with the USB cable for 5130. USB cables with the converter works just for sometime & then some problem seems to develop such as port in use or modem problems etc.... Here's the solution which will make your life a bit easier.... 1) Forget the USB cables & get yourself a serial data cable for 5130. 2) Yes, I can read your mind, you must be thinking that u do not have a serial port on your Laptop. Well, the solution is very simple, simply buy a docking port or better still a usb to serial port converter & plug in your serial data cable. 3) Go to device manager & see which com port your new cable is set, add a standard 33,600 kbps modem to that port, then make a new DUN connection ......That's it...you are logged on to the information Highway... This will definately work as I am using the same way & ask the reliance customer care people to go to hell... Best Regards, Yunus.
