I dont understand why reliance deactivates all those....... Actually my father is using nokia 3105 on tata and iam able to browse ALL the websites free of cost!But the problem is the screen size. I have checked it out even with LG handsets and it works good. And the main thing to note is IT IS FREE OF COST! Tata doesnt charge any thing for the TATA Zone, they only charge for the downloads of wallpapers,ringtones etc. And note that tata zone is not the software like the r-world! just prees '0' form nokia handset and enjoy tata zone! And one more is all the handsets launched by them are RUIM enabled other than very few LG handsets.

Its cost is 24,999.With 1.3MP cam,Mp3,Expandabale memory etc......... And recently i got the info that we can get any CDMA 800 handset from abroad and can be activated on tata network! Thats because they just program the network settings on the phone but reliance loads rworld...........blah.blah and deactiates all the key features of the phone.

I have caleed them thrice and confirmed it.Karnataka: 080 56788282. And dont ask prepaid people anything about handsets, they will not be able to help you. And for handset related quiries donot call 121!

Source: Customer care(postpaid). Actually they are facing some problems with their website.And the CC informed me that Moto Razr was launched 2-3 weeks back and the Moto world phone was launched last week.

Hurray! Moto Razr already launched on tata network.Cost Rs.14000. And they have also introduced a motorola world phone.Cost Rs.24,999. Reliance is sleeping and tata is awakening!

Actually tata dont lock Nokia handsets as reliance do and they even dont change any settings including browser. And it is impossible to convert CDMA to GSM or vice-versa

Today iread in the newspaper(Enadu-telugu) that Reliance plans to enter GSM services in delhi,mumbai...............................andhrapradesh and even tamil nadu.

Switching from CDMA to GSM is not very easy.If reliance really plans to shift to GSM NOW then to complete every thing it will take atleast 6-7 years.(For reliance ot will defenately be more than that as they are hell lazy). But iam sure that they will not shift to GSM but they may expand their smart services(RTL).But that will be a utter flop and waste as the cities and even many villages are saturated.

Yes i thought the same way as abhay. Windows-more applications-gsm-more handsets. Linux-less apps-CDMA-less handsets. And there are many more similarities. CDMA is very stable as Linux GSM crashes soon as windows CDMA is spectrum effective as linux is cost effective as it doesnt require Antivirus blah blah etc. WCDMA=MacOSX. WCDMA(3G services of GSM) MacOSX is better than linux and windows. So if GSM operators start WCDMA then it will be damn difficult for CDMA to survive as WCDMA offers best clarity and superb speeds. Its like if MacOSX is possible to run on normal PCs then?
