You need to get evdo configured from your seller or a rim guru here.. Your phone will show 3g icon irrespective of whether it is 1x or evdo.. That is just the icon to show that mobile data is currently on..- 22 replies

Lg Viper is a good phone but it doesnt suit the requirement here.. If he was okay with full touch there are many other options available in cdma.. -

Gps does not always depend only on the phone.. It also depends on your net speed and nearby cellphone towers which help you pinpoint your location.. I live in Mumbai and hence didnt face any problems as such with gps.. Even when I went to bangalore I used the gps for finding places on google which were very precise.. PS: I was using CM10. Maybe you can try if that works for you too..

From personal experience I would suggest Samsung Epic 4G. It is the best phone available in your budget. It will be a little thicker than others but definitely worth it. -

Vinod ji.. I dont think clearing efs directly is a good idea as the guy has no contact with seller.. So he may or may not have the files required for programming the phone.. In that case it would be better for him to just odin to stock to see whether anything is wrong in the settings in the first place..

Go back to stock gb FC09 and check whether the reliance and evdo settings have erased or are still present.. This will clear any rom issues that you have and tell you if you need to re enter reliance settings in case they are erased..

Idea to mention software version and modifications is excellent. Infact many of our sellers do mention this. So making it mandatory is a good step. But I am not so sure about having a software section. Xda forum is more than enough for software and rooting issues. -
QBKING77 has very good videos for newcomers.. I had my phone rooted and romed in no time following his tutorials..

And that 94 recharge will give you 3g speed on evdo.. That too for 6 months.. And for your settings just google reliance internet setting profile and you will.get it.. -
If you are on any other rom try going back to stock firmware.. Generally things go back to normal once once you are on stock.. Preferably try froyo if you can..

Factory reset wont change Reliance MDN.. You either have a software problem due to OS or hardware connection is lose at the port.. I would suggest opening the phone but that requires knowledge or you can damage components..

Yes same happened with me on my Epic 4G. While 1x was active I could receive calls. The 1x transmission would stop when a call came. Even I am from Mumbai. -

When you are on 1x data transmission stops while receiving call. So what you are saying is true. You will be able to receive calls. -

Even I know Kanishk from another forum.. Haven't had any dealings with him but he surely came off as a nice guy from all the helpful posts that he does.. You can get the phone unbricked by him.. I can get it done from Manish Market but I am dealer or anything and I'll just be the handler.. You will have to pay the shipping and repair charges.. But since Kanishk does it himself I think he will be the better option for unbricking your phones.. -
