Secondly, I think the Idea of a CDMA phone Not to Have a Pluggable Identification Module is that the Phone could be then part of the Service - which if users have the Option to connect GSM, companies like RIM will go on knees. I Used Attached My FWP to my Address Book. When I click on any number then the Software Sends Via Serial Cable "AT+CDVxxxxxxx" and the phone dials perfectly. But After say 20secs or so I hear a Very Long (Irritating) Beep on the phone - usually which you hear when you leave the handset off-hook for a long time. What could this be ? Please Help. Sorry Fellows But I made Data Cable for my FWP/FWT myself. Its Simple and Cheap Like Hell. Here is the Reciepe. Material: One 9-Pin RS232 (COM Port) Female Connector Rs. 12 One Mtr of CAT5 Cable Rs. 8 One D-Link RJ45 Jack Rs. 7 -------- Rs. 27/- Crimp on end of the RJ45 Jack and on the other end you will need to solder to the 9Pin Connector. You Can go to the nearest radio/tv repairwalla and get this done. Just Make sure that the right wire is connected to the right pin. Here is the right combination. COM Port <-> RJ45 (Female) 1 7 2 4 3 3 4 6 5 5 6 8 7 1 8 2 9 5 The 5th Wire from the RJ45 will need to go on 5th Pin of the COM Port Connector and there will be a short wire which will cross connect Pin 9 also. Need Any further HELP ?? I will post more on making other cables. Other cables use an IC in between to connect RS232 to the MC. FWP/FWT is the easiest. I took an output from my PCO billing machine and it shows....In last few days 1300 people came to call 500 got thru.. 100 got RINGING and kept.. 50 Invalid Numbers. 600 Got User or Network Busy. DONT YOU GUYS FELL THIS PROBLEM ???????????

Hello Friends, I am one of the few HAPPY RIM Users on this Forum. I use Reliance IndiaPhone FWPs. It used to happen sometime ago that when I dialed it used to connect at once and within few seconds. This was regardless of the number and outside Reliance etc. Now it has become WORSE.. For 100% of the numbers I have to Dial atleast THREE times and sometimes even four times. I see huge problem and land up fighting with the customers on my PCO about billing calls which lead to dead air and stuff. IS RELIANCE NETWORK GOING TO IMPROVE ON CONGESTION ? Are they upgrading.. is there some failures or equipment faults which might improve this later ?

Secondly, I see NIMDA and BLASTER viruses which have caused such a havoc because the Information on Windows Vulnerability was know to only them and not opened publicly. FWT it seems are out of stock or non-distributed. I went to OTC & WW twice and I was told that FWTs wont be issued. Secondly, the pleasure of paying later and using now is lil different than the PrePay stuff. Moreover, RIM is still not officially declared anything on the Prepaid PCO and Prepay FWT etc.. And I am a geek with my soda glasses who is sitting in the PCO the whole day and managing "CHUTTA".. and I WANT TO DO THIS.

I have a similar Problem. First, I own an FWP and want to Attach it on Billing Machine of My PCO. So I need something like a CELL SOCKET. I got all my creativity out and have comeup with a solution. I have got a box made which throws a Dialtone and manages the Off Hook and On Hook Current this Box Detects the DTMF and send it to my Computer. I have the Audio of my FWP connected to the BOX and hence they both are talking. All I am not able to do now is make the bloody FWP dial the Digits from my Software. My Software sends ATDTxxxx command to the Phone and It works perfectly, But for some reasons it disconnects immediately and says that its not a Data Call. Can Someone give me how to make Normal Phone Calls out of the FWP. Maybe an Equivalent of ATDT or some mode setting. ???? Regards, PCOGuy
