Loss.. 233Cr.,. I think most of it is because of the FINES that Reliance keeps giving out. Last fine to BSNL was 150cr. According to me Reliance's 233cr is not all that bad. We have to look at the speed in which they are growing, RIM's Oversears operations, Its OFC network, its FLAG aquisition, Coverage in Thousands of towns and hundereds of Cities, over 10m subscribers. Just 2 Years of Operations. It is not a Paan Tapri to make profits from day 1. I think they are doing fine. REL launches power bills in Braille March 10, 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mumbai: Reliance Energy Ltd today launched power bills in Braille for its visually impaired customers and announced a project to promote Braille literacy among the blind in the city. "The introduction of power bills in Braille is a significant step in the utility marketing. The visually impaired will be able to easily read critical information on the bill such as power consumption, details of charges," company executive director Satish Sheth said at the launch here. Maharashtra Energy Minister Dilip Walse-Patil and actor Amitabh Bachchan, who essayed the role of a teacher of a visually impaired girl in his recent film `Black', were present at the function along with Tina Ambani, wife of REL chairman Anil Ambani. The company also launched `Prarambh,' a project specially designed to promote Braille literacy among the visually challenged citizens along with he National Association for Blind. Only 4,000 of the total 35,000 visually impaired people in the city were Braille literate, Sheth added.

Mahidhar Does make a point. According to my suggestion above I said that your Carrier/Telco has to provide you with this service. If you can tell them what time you got the call - even if Caller ID or other features are disabled then still they can know which telco the call actually came from. In dont think its much of a issue for Carriers to Detect which Interconnection the call came from. This is incase you inform them on time - I assume telcos erase their CDRs every 24hours. On knowing which Carrier originated the call, the complaint will go forward to that telco. And Because a Telco billed Mr. XYZ to call your number it obviously knows who made the Call from their CDRs/RADIUS/Accounting System. Because your Telco will make money from Fining the guy who called you and PLUS from you everymonth as a service charge ("NO TELEMARKETERS") then Its very much in their interest to hunt and fine the guys. Most of the WAV to MIDI programs wont work perfectly. They cant. Because thats the way MIDI files are written. MIDI are more like Notes for Standard Instruments to be played while WAV is combined waveform of the amplitude & frequency. WAV is like Complied EXE and MIDI is like Source Code. I dont think you will ever get a decent WAV to MIDI conversion unless the WAV was made from a MIDI directly. PCOGuy

I DONT think Sharing of Information on such conversion is CRIME. IT IS CANNOT BE. If you have paid RIM for the Handset and you own it - YOU CAN DO ANYTHING WITH IT. You can convert it to Garuda or Tarang or anything. Have you guys read all agreements and other read-me along with your RIM connections ? Do they have any words on this ? PCOGuy

I still feel that its Reliance's responsibility to put compliance rules to ensure customers are not illtreated. If an collection agency or any tom-****-harry calls if Reliance has given them the right then IT IS RELIANCE's FAULT. This is complete failure and irresponsibility and UNETHICAL from Reliance's Side. Even a dog knows that if you use Collection Agencies to collect and not Inhouse people (or maybe that also) then you have to put consider such a situation. If they dont ITS THEIR FAULT. And Then they dont deserve to be PAID. I would be really glad to get a call like this in the USA from a Collection Agency. There I have the right to sue the guy and "WHAT BILL" - Bloody take away the S*** ER's House. In India you cannot make money out of the opportunity but still there is a decent way to make his life hell. Next time he calls - Record the call. You completely deny that you have any payment to be made. The guy on the other end will pounce on you and will get a little hyper. Make use of the opportunity and use sentences like "Yeh Jabardasti Hai", "This is Extortion", "Who are you to ask money from me ?", "I dont owe you anything and still you ask money by dadagiri" Also Note down the name, number and time of the call. Walk into the Police station with this and you need to file a FIR for a Cognizible crime under sections what-not. He will be behind bars for 4 days GUARANTEED. If the Cops dont take a decent or satisfying action you will need to carry a copy of all your recordings and FIR to the nearest "ANTI-EXTORTION CELL" (which are all over the country now) and they are sure to harras the guy. Lets Discuss on what happens behind the scenes on the RIM network (server side) when we make calls. We will organize of conclude this in 3 Areas 1. Authenticating - How does RIM Servers know who I am etc. 2. Authorization - Should I be using the network ? Am I Allowed to Make Calls ? 3. Accounting - How is Billing Data Stored ?
