Hardware Purchase Suggestion Requests
bigbyte replied to hiteshkkk1's topic in General Technical Discussion
Yes , Redmi 3S will be an excellent option as it is supposed to be placed below Redmi Note 3 price wise. Shall be a winner. Only if Swipe Elite Plus was supporting VoLTE, it is an excellent phone for 7k. Full HD screen with SD616 chipset octacore CPU. I have checked the phone personally, it's very good for price except VoLTE part. -

JIO SIM without LYF handset
bigbyte replied to vishalgupta171's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
I am also trying to activate unlimited data for a friend, but always stuck in the step where the app forces me for an update. If I disable data to go to login screen, it is unable to login and always gives an error. Will try afresh tonight. -
JIO SIM without LYF handset
bigbyte replied to vishalgupta171's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
Sprint Galaxy S6 supports Band 5,(850mhz) so you can use your JIO sim on Sprint S6. -
Default dialer of course. If using jio app then no volte required. Sent from my SM-G930FD using Tapatalk

Most if not all sprint phone support band 26 and hence band 5 as well. The best 4g signal for jio and only 4g signal for reliance 4g is on band 5. I am using Rcom 4g on sprint note 5 without any issues. Sent from my SM-N9208ZDV using Tapatalk

In Mumbai reliance 4g signal level is almost same as earlier CDMA signals. Unfortunately for voice we have to fall back on GSM which is not very good. Currently roaming to AP circle and I am able to latch on 4g here Sent from my SM-N9208ZDV using Tapatalk

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
bigbyte replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
I doubt. Voice call on 2g or 3g are circuit switched while volte is packed switched. Essentially volte is same as voip as 4g network don't support circuit switch fallback. Though I agree on interconnect and usage fees part. I welcome to be corrected. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk -
What if I approach reliance digital with offer code for the lyf previe and say that this is code generated on Samsung. I don't think they have any way to verify it. Infact they don't even write the code on the form. Do I get a sim.? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Yes it is really unfortunate.

@Mandar Ranade Mine is a non Indian Note 5 so probably that's the reason I am unable to get the invite code on my Samsung Note 5 through My jio app.
-
Ok here is the Update. I recharged with Rs. 97 and recharge was successful. After recharge I was immediately able to latch on 4G network and get 4G data. With recharge I got all the benefits mentioned in the pack, however the balance section in instacare doesn't shows 10gb 4G data though SMS received after recharge says so. So, all who migrated to 4G using Re 1 recharge, probably will need to do this recharge, then only they will be able to get 4G data. Thanks a lot @Mandar Ranade I am using a Samsung Note 5.
-
Yes will do it and update the thread for benefit of fellow members. However the 97 rs. doesn't shows up as a valid recharge in " My services" but will take a chance nevertheless.
-
My phone has support for 850 and I can see the Reliance 4G network but unable to latch on it. I migrated using the Re 1 LTE migration recharge done by retailer.. On migration I received 10 gb 4G balance and all benefits for 30 days which was of course unusable since no 4G network at that time.
-
@Mandar Ranade Did you migrate using Re 1 recharge? And from where we do the 97 recharge and what are the benefits? Sorry for too many questions.
-
Congrats. Did you need any "Sim patch" or anything like that? I am still unable to latch on 4G signals though my data working on 2g/3G.
-
Even if my sim is working properly on 2g/3g network with data? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
