How to: Unlock GSM for Moto X 1st and 2nd gen US Cellular
bigbyte replied to dr.faramroze's topic in Technical / OS related
@dr.faramroze Tried every thing. My phone is currently on 4.4.2, flashed US cellular 4.4.2 firmware with erasing modemst1 and 2 partitions.. still No luck Also the screenshot posted by you are from Moto X gen 2, so shall I try with Gen 2? -
RCOM doesn't have 900Mhz spectrum anywhere, leave alone 3G license on it. It failed to win back any 900 mhz spectrum in circles where it was operating earlier on 900 mhz band. RJio , in all probability will be a pure LTE player with VoLTE for voice services. Due to spectrum sharing arrangement RCOM users shall be able to latch on Jio's 4G network on 1800/2300 as well. Also, I feel in long term 2G services will be stopped as the spectrum comes up for renewal and every operator will shift to 3G/4G.

Ok, will try and revert with results. Any extra steps required for gen 2 or process is same for gen 2? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk -
Reports are that many verizon phones are not able to get network on Reliance 4g sim, haven't tested personally though. No network means, not able to log in to 2g/3g as well. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

4g network available in which area and what band? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Sabv bakwas hai, CDMA service WILL be closed in Mumbai, not yet closed though. My CDMA sim is still working but today I'll go to Gallery to collect GSM (4G) sim. They haven't left any option for us.

Bhai log.. Please don't bash me. Mei tau apnee party ka aadmee hoon, Relaince is opposite party. Seedhee baat hai, we were with Relaince CDMA even when majority left CDMA long back because of the excellent network at interiors and good EVDO plans. And I agree that in the process of clearing it's debt RCom has fallen in the trap of RJIO. Real gainer in all this mess will be RJIO, they will enjoy the 800 Mhz spectrum at the loss of RCOM.
-
@jxd4you and @ajitkumargopu Can you please tell that these screenshot are from which phone. Asking since not all phones show the network names in so much detail even before logging.
-
RCOM was in huge debt and RJio gave them lot of money to clear a major part of their debt. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Ok, let me switch sides and speak from Reliance side once. Rjio wasn't able to launch services since there were issues with VoLTE . They don't have 2g/3g fallback for voice. After collaboration with RCOM their 4g network will be second to none. Have patience till 4g on 850 mhz is launched. We have enjoyed excellent indoor coverage on cdma on this band so let's expect that once band 5 4g launched we will continue to enjoy same coverage with 4g speeds. Those who received early batches of 4g sim card, data is not working on them. They have to approach Reliance gallery where they are writing some parameter after that data starts working. Many users are mot facing this issue, their sim cards are from later batches. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Migrated 4G sim par kisika Data working?? Mine not working even on 3G/2G
-
Mandar, you are probably the first person on the forum who is able to scan and latch on 4g network of Reliance (not JIO) using upgraded sim. Congrats. Circle Mumbai or maharashtra? Also try to tell us which LTE band? Dial *#*#0011#*#* and post screenshot while on lte network. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Haha, Also no one is going to get that 10gb 4G data benefit. The validity of data benefit after migration is 30 days and I am sure there won't be any 4G network in 30 days. So it's only 1gb 2g/3g data post migration, if at all it works.

Finally my 4G "Upgraded" sim is working. Unable to latch on Jio 4G network, working on Reliance own 2G/ 3G network. The other CDMA no upgarded number is working usual on CDMA network. @ACS, there is no Reliance 4G network on 800 mhz, at least in Mumbai, as of now.
-
Cdma still working in Mumbai. Those who have put in request for upgrade are slowly being shifted to Reliance GSM. . G services have not started yet but you can expect them to start once a sizeable chunk of cdma customers are shifted to gsm. I am waiting for my upgraded sim to become active. Jio VoLTE tests were not so successful partly due to lack of handset support and also world over technology for VoLTE not so matured. Thats why they entered in to sharing pact with rcom so that they have enough spectrum to fall back to 2g for voice calls. So 4g on 800mhz plus 2300mhz and voice on 1800mhz liberalized spectrum. But what happens at end remains to be seen. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Mujhe tau lagta hai kee ye JIO ka plan hai.. RCOM ka jo bhi bacha khucha customer base hai usko barbaad karnei kaa..... MAster stroke by bade bhaiya......
-
If we check the the upgrade recharge details on this page: http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/4G/4G_overview.html it says Post Migration LTE/4G Benefit: Data 1X/EV 1 gb and 4g: 10gb. What does Data 1X/EV means? 4G on CDMA? Otherwise they should have mentioned 2G/3G here.
-
Exactly my point. So even after 4g is launched, Cdma sim cards will contnue to work till they are completely shut down. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

What if I don't opt for 4g upgrade? Will my services just stop without any intimation after 4g launch? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
