Mobile data i.e 1X or EvDO is not working on SCH-R530 Galaxy S3 US Cellular with Reliance after 4.3 official update, in the setting i observed that PRL version is showing as "0" as previously it used to show PRL version "5" and unable to downgrade due to KNOX enabled security issue .

My observation on 4.3 is that for mobile data phone is not reading parameters from the RUIM it is sending all data from the inbuilt parameters defined in the OS for the operator and once your are making Airplane mode ON then it is reading the data from RUIM u can see the same thing in the about device and status network it will show "RJ1KNLA1e" and PRL will be showing version "5" as it is reading data from RUIM after Switching OFF air plane mode it will show "US Cellular" which is defined in the OS parameters. Real challege would be how to modify the parameters to make the mobile to read parameters from RUIM for mobile data instead of predefined authentication parameters in the OS

If i am not wrong it was not only with CM rom but it was with all 4.3 custom roms also as our members tried various roms for 4.3

I have one query for the gurus if the issue is with the Radio/baseband issue then how come mobile data was not working for the people who got MD1 base-band and CM10.2 update i.e for the people who are not updated to 4.3 update till data getting issue after updating to CM10.2 or any ROM of 4.3. As i am trying to figure out the data issue

If some is interested in trying out Kitkat 4.4 after latest update u can try it out 1. Install the clock work mod from odin PDA section u can download the latest CWM recovery from http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.3-d2usc.img for US Cellular latest one be sure to use only CWM only as TWR is not working 2. Download latest version of CyanogenMod CM11 from http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=d2usc and latest 4.2.2 gapps from here http://goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/gapps/pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20131215-signed.zip after downloading copy both to your SD card 3. Boot your phone to recovery mode and wipe data/factory reset , wipe cache and wipe dalvin cache and after that select install from SD card and select first CM11 file and after finishing it out select the GAPPS after compeletion reboot your phone now u will be on Kitkat 4.2.2 This can be done on the phone which got stuck on boot screen of Samsung logo for the mobile which got strcuk after downgrade to 4.1.2 from 4.3 official update Note : Mobile data is still not working on Kitkat 4.4.2 and personal feedback after using it is every thing is smooth voice,SMS, WIFI every thing is working fine. And it will also trigger your KNOX bit from 0 to 1

1. Data solution still not available i am trying to figure it out and i am successful till getting the PRL version 5 back on mobile. 2. Already stated in my early post the Samsung simple upgrade tool is not working its not only me facing the issue it is the same issue for every one i.e first version of 1.09 GB file got 1152 extraction error and after continuous discussion with tech team they modified the file on Dec 9 to Zip file still it is also having the issue i.e unable to extract the zip file i have tried the same thing for nearly 9 to 10 times still the error message reports. If u are successful in extracting the file then let us know

Sorry for the delayed response as system got crashed u can get Cygwin from here http://cygwin.com/install.html and after that install it and extract the MD4 tar file files to "cygwin\home\username\" and open the cygwin command prompt and the repacking steps are 1. # tar --group=1 -H ustar -c boot.img cache.img.ext4 recovery.img rpm.mbn sbl2.mbn sbl3.mbn system.img.ext4 tz.mbn NON-HLOS.bin >md4_new.tar 2. md5sum -t md4_new.tar >> md4_new.tar 3. mv md4_new.tar md4_new.tar.md5 Now u will find the MD4 modified file with name "md4_new.tar.md5" which can be flashed via odin After flashing the above file odin PDA section now rebooted your phone to recovery mode ans select install update from SD card and select the downloaded MJA OTA file after finishing it u will be on stock 4.3

Also i would like to ask you that after getting stuck at modem.bin i removed the cable and started the phone. the phone starts perfectly but a screen comes up which asks me to choose the language. when i select desired language the screen doesnt go away instead it again asks me to do the same continuously." So @lit_n_lite : The solution for the problem is u need to connect your mobile to programming tools and need to modify the MDN number as presently it will be showing as "000XXXX" and get that modified and be sure you are not modifying the other parameters(Thanks for Amit Bhai who helped me i when got struck at the same state) it will resolve your problem

No there is presently no solution for work around for mobile data but for the phone struck up issue there is solution which allows u to get back to stock 4.3 without any issue. 1. Download the stock modifed (i.e bootloader file removed) MD4 tar file 'http://anything-android.co/getdownload.php?file=D2USC%20Fix/D2USC-No-aboot-md4-fix.tar.zip' 2. Download the OTA MJA file from 'http://anything-android.co/getdownload.php?file=D2USC%20Fix/md4_to_mja_ota_update_2.zip', copy the downloaded file to your SD card 3. Install the first downloaded MD4 file via ODIN PDA section and after completion of the process and cache cleadning after phone booted up when phone is at "SAMSUNG" logo switch off the phone and boot the phone to recovery mode i.e "volume up + home + power buttons" and select install update from SD card option and navigate to the downloaded file in the step 2 and press OK and it will be install the OTA update package it will take some time for completion and after that phone reboots and now u will be on stock 4.3 MJA

My base-band version is MJA new one for 4.3 Version and unable to downgrade to MD1 as KNOX security is default enabled in 4.3 version which prevents to to downgrade to MD1 version it only allows you to MD4 version and as i know which is also not working data works till MD1 version.

Hi Due to not booting of the phone i.e Samsung SCH -i500(Fascinate US Model) officially brought from reliance, samsung service team repalced mother board after that i am unable to reactivate my number on the phone. Initailly i got error message stating that invalid RSN number as stated by Reliance Web world team. I contacted the Samsung service they said only mother board is replaced i found that the old IMEI number sticker on the phone. My query is "after replacement of Mother board will the RSN will be changed or not" if not then how could i reactivate my phone kindly help me out.

@SagarT As earlier said by @Amit Bhai download the "SamsungSimpleUpgradeTool_for_SCH-R530_USCC_Ver1.0.016_MB1.exe" from Samsung US site and install it and follow the steps then you will be on Stock MB1 update or if you want to flash directly via ODIN then after installing the file go to C \Program Files\SamsungElectronics\SWUpgrade\Models\Binary you can find the firmware file which u can flash directly via ODIN PDA option.

I have confirmed with web world people that EVDO is activated only to my number...

I am facing strange issue i already have EVDO enabled but after transferring my number from my fascinate to sim card and inserted in the phone which i got couple of days back 3g signal is showing in the phone but still when is surf the net it will switch back to 1X only. i am on MB1 only not updated to MB4 as OAT will also not work as it is rooted. So i followed the above procedure still data is working in 1X mode only.

Sorry for the delayed response as i was out of town... One thing i got to say is that after replacement of the mother board the sticker labeled on the phone was of the old one i.e OLD MEID and RSN number and samsung service center team and technical team dont know what is the RSN number and they simply tell that after replacement of mother board the RSN will not be changed.. @basheerbr : As New RSN values are not provided by Samsung team Reliane cannot help me out already tried.. @Hitesh : Tried couple of days back with Reliance Web world team what value received from the GETSTAT is used still same issue @hiteshkkk1 : As already said i dont have new RSN number further Talked with executive team of Samsung and local service head they too dont know any thing about the issue finally yesterday they asked me to submit my peripherals after escalating the issue to CEO team,they called me for replacement of the phone as know one is able to identify the exact issue and unable to provide the new RSN for the replaced board..

@Maverick75,Thanks i have got data connectivity one mistake i was doing is that i was not installing Kernel due to which phone was struck at Samsung logo screen after installing kernel now every thing is working fine @Maverick75 and @Amit thank you both of u for all the support....

Finally I am on also on Gingerbread rom Thanx to Amitji for helping me out to get out of language selection loop screen He was online & helped me do that with DFS CDMA tools 3.3.0.7 But one thing is mobile data is not working...as mine is bought from Reliance can some one help me out to enable mobile data on the mobile Thanks once again for Amitji for all the support.......

@kki_cdma, the factory reset problem in EH19 is because the "dbdata.rfs" file is missing in the package due to which all the data saved in the phone will not be saved as Database file is not created when u flashed if u want the EH19 Stock ROM just add any "dbdata.rfs" in to the package taken from other stock ROMS of VWZ or Reliance and then create the package with the "dbdata.rfs" file in the added list and you can create the package from the Terminal by using the commands are Terminal Commands : 1. tar -H ustar -c boot.bin cache.rfs dbdata.rfs factoryfs.rfs modem.bin movinand.bin param.lfs recovery.bin Sbl.bin zImage > package_name.tar (Were the boot.bin cache.rfs dbdata.rfs factoryfs.rfs modem.bin movinand.bin param.lfs recovery.bin Sbl.bin zImage are file names) 2. md5sum -t package_name.tar >> package_name.tar 3. mv package_name.tar package_name.tar.md5 Note : If EH19 Stock ROM is loaded then phone will work perfectly but it will not be detected in Kies MINI and it will show the "UNREGISTERED DEVICE" error in the firmware colum.
