    Unlock has to be done only on ZV7. LS980 is the G2 model name, you need not flash anything right now, just enable debug & root the phone. Follow step by step procedure for unlock. Go to settings/about phone/software information/software version, check it see if it's on ZV7 or ZV8 or ZVA, if your are on ZVA or ZV8 then you have to downgrade to ZV7. If you are on ZV8 simply follow my other thread "How to unbrick/unroot" But if you are on ZVA then it's a totally different method. I have shared a link of XDA on how to. TWRP or CWM are custom recoveries, it's better if you install any one & do a full backup of the phone, and then copy it to your computer. With stock recovery it's not possible to backup. Make sure you take EFS backup after rooting the phone. It's VERY IMPORTANT. How to take EFS backup is in the main thread. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

  8. There should be a way. if anyone has a backup of stock NV items, or Brand new phone, all you gotta do is take a NV backup using CDMA WS, then use that NV to flash a already flashed phone, RUIM data might just be possible to achieve this way. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

Hi Raju / Gauravjc,Am too stuck on the same issue, but my scenario is a bit different, Can you help : 1) Phone goes in download mode 2) Phone is allowing me to install Stock Rom 3) After installation the first time when the phone boots , touch works, can see the IMEI null baseband null, PC detects the phone too 4) Exactly after 2 mins the phone restarts after which nothing works, touch stops responding and phone starts restarting. 5) root is not possible due to no touch 6) TWRP not possibe too. 7) DAIG mode not possible at this stage (i feel so) Seems to be an issue with EFS partition where it has been formatted. the sad part is that i had not taken the backup of efs through EFS tool, but through TWRP , i had taken and stored in my PC while it was working. So the only backup which i have is TWRP full backup OS which has EFS too but in efs11.win format. Request you to please help..   20. If you have flashed NV then RUIM data will not work unless you have a back up of EFS which was taken before flashing NV. Never seen that phone. Does it have a RUIM slot? If yes then no harm in trying.

If you installed all drivers properly put the phone into diag mode using ##3424# then see under device manager see the port number under com ports, use cdma ws 2.7 free version or a cracked version run it, connect to the respective port, select security tab. in security tab in look for password tab, enter the 16 digit password 01F2030F5F678FF9 click send, you should get a popup "your phone is now unlocked", after this in the same tab look for SPC section, click read, that should give you your 6 digit SPC/MSL code.

    Please follow this topic only for the full unlock. this is not a temp unlock like its mentioned in other thread. please read everything before trying anything. if you dont know how to please ask someone who knows. G2 is a fantastic piece of equipment. i will be disappointed if someone bricks it for silly reason. i suggest to learn more about flashing and everything else related to CDMA hacks for phones.
