  2. Htc Victor Being Launched By Reliance Shortly

I'm eagerly waiting for EVDO to be launched my dear friends.
  3. ^^^ My dear Hetal, even sometimes I get speeds upto 30 KB/s. But as we get fluctuating speeds on data cards, the average comes to 25 KB/s. And you are right, Rs.849/- for unlimited usage at this speeds is really good. Regards.
  4. ^^^ My dear Anurag, the speed of an Edge enabled handset and this Edge enable Usb Data Card can vary alot. Some handsets only have Class-6 Edge, Some has Class-8 and Some has Class10 Edge. Also the Class of GPRS makes a difference. If the Class of Edge & Gprs is lower in your handset then you will get lower speeds. And moreover if we use our Edge enabled handsets for surfing via Bluetooth, then it consumes lots of battery and if we surf using a Data Cable then our handset's battery will be gone within a few months. So, here it makes a difference if we use USB Modem. No Battery, No Charging. And higher Class of Edge and GPRS. Regards.
  5. Lets Ask Arun

^^^ Yes my dear DJ, your suggestion is good and it can be considered. We will discuss the same with the Admins and do the needful. Regards.
  6. My dear friends, I recently purchased Idea Netsetter. Believe me its speed is really awsome and 100% better then Reliance Data Cards. I get nearly 25 KB/s speeds through this Edge enabled Usb Modem. Sometimes it goes upto 30 KB/s. No installation problems at all. Just insert the Modem in Usb Port and it get installed itself. It supports Vista also. Their's a scheme going on till 30th November 2008. Just pay Rs.360/- extra and get 2 months unlimited usage free. Means you pay Rs.2490/- + Rs.360/- = Rs.2850/- and you can enjoy two months unlimited usage. I purchased this Usb Modem under the above scheme. And now enjoying the awsome speeds of this device. I didn't faced any issues till now with Idea Netsetter. Lets hope for the best in the future also. Regards.
  7. Nokia E63 Announced Kid bro to E71 After we got a peek into Nokia's internal roadmap document yesterday, which showed the E63's development completion. According to the document, the E 63's prototype was expected in week 44 of this year. Nokia has been quite quick in announcing the latest phone, Nokia E63 - an affordable QWERTY smartphone. Priced at EUR 199 (Rs. 12,000 approx.), the E63 is kid brother of E71 and comes in plastic-fibre like body and 2 megapixel camera with fixed focus. Unlike E71, the E63 does not have infrared, HSDPA connection and GPS. The E63 has an inset screen and is slightly smaller than the E71. Other improvement in E63 is the 3.5mm jack for music instead of 2.5mm jack found in E71. Along with that E63 also includes support for Files on Ovi, which that allows user to remotely access the PC files even when computer is offline. Files on Ovi also offers 1GB online storage for free to E63 buyers. Switching between corporate mode (mail, appointments, intranet data) to personal mode (pictures, shortcuts) is made possible by single key press. Nokia will commence shipping in coming weeks. Let's hope India also gets this phone soon. Courtesy : Techtree

  11. Now Amar Singh claims telecom companies offered him money The Hindu l 12 November l New Delhi The Samajwadi Party on wednesday claimed that he was approached by major telecom companies with "obscene amounts" to maintain silence on the issue of alleged misuse of Telecom spectrum allotment. "Representatives of major telecom companies had approached me offering an obscene amount of money to maintain silence on the issue of misuse of spectrum allocation," party General Secretary Amar Singh claimed here. However, he refused to give details regarding who had approached him and how much money was offered. Singh said he had "apprised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about it last week and also informed Sonia Gandhi". Sticking to his charge that a scam had occurred during the allocation of spectrum to telecom companies, Singh alleged that many companies violated Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) norms by using more than their allotted share of spectrum. The SP leader said he has apprised the PM and UPA chairperson of the issue and has full faith in their integrity and understanding. "If our request for investigating this matter is not heeded, then I will personally take this matter to court", the SP leader said. Singh said that asthe SP is supporting the UPA government, he did not want his party to be part of this "scam". "We don't want to be party to this scam," he said.

  13. Indian GSM operators notch up 8 mn subscriber additions in October The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) today released the monthly subscriber additions statistics for GSM operators whereby it emerged that the service providers were able to register 8 million new subscribers in the month of October which is highest across the globe. While current figures total up to 7.7 million additions, figures of Reliance Telecom are yet to be considered and the subsequent figures when combined is estimated to go past 8 million. COAI Director General, T V Ramachandran said that with the current growth trends, it is widely believed that the GSM sector alone would cross the 250 million target set by the government for mobile services subscriber base by end of 2008. In terms of growth, BPL Mobile continued its robust growth in the highly competitive Mumbai circle at 8.65%. The company against all odds has been registering healthy growth in the circle for the past few months and is on the verge of bouncing back to regain its lost hold in the circle. At the end of the month, Bharti continues to maintain its leadership position with a subscriber base of 80.19 million and market share of 33.23% to be followed by Vodafone at 56.7 million subscribers and market share of 23.49%. BSNL continued its snail journey with subscriber base still hovering under the 40 million mark (39.83 million to be precise). Courtesy : TelecomTiger

  16. iPhone 3G: Dismal Sales In India High cost keep sales low Apple faced a lot of criticism when they announced that the iPhone 3G will cost above Rs. 30,000. Though there was an indication that the iPhone's price will not be the same as its US counterpart, no one expected it to be so exorbitantly priced. To add insult to injury, other manufacturers also followed the same pricing strategy for their flagship phones. Needless to say, sales are pretty dismal. Business Today has published an article revealing the sales figures of the iPhone as well as other smartphones. According to their figures, telecom operators have managed to sell about 4000 units of the iPhone since its launch. Nokia N96 that was unveiled in September managed to sell about 1000 units. Let's hope that the manufacturers learn a lesson or two and lower the prices. Courtesy : Techtree

CNBC-TV18’s Nayantara Rai speaks to Telenor’s Global Chief, Jon Fredrik Baksaas. Baksaas said, given the liquidity crunch, Telenor has still deided to expand and come to India, soen thing whioch the investor's of Telenor have not taken very well. For it to expand there will be big cash flow requirement and this cash flow has been negatively received by Telenor's investors. 20. Sony Ericsson Patents Touchscreen Communication? Unique way to enhance the touchscreen experience Sony Ericsson may be working on a new technology to use touch input to transfer information from one device to another. A recent patent application seems to point towards the probable use of RFID tags for information transfer. While development on the mobile technology front is stagnating, with every possible feature addition already accomplished, Sony Ericsson may have found a unique way to enhance the touchscreen experience. It is a well-known fact that other biggies, including Nokia, Google and Apple, are constantly striving to improve the touch UI -- with Apple already tasting immense success. The actual use of the technology and the exact process involved is still unknown. However, prima facie, it seems to work on a touch-based gesture, which can be sent from one device to another, with a wait for a response from the other device. The plans also reveal the framework of a probable "paid service," through which the user could download a product on to one device - but will be actually controlling the download from another device. Yes, it does sound complicated. That's not all. Sony Ericsson has taken into consideration multiple variables in this method of data transfer; parameters like the time to complete one request, speed of the finger movement, and even the size of the finger!
