  14. 8MP LG Camera Phone Could Make October Debut We already heard that LG was launching an upgrade to their LG KU990 Viewty and the handset was going to be called the KC910. This new ‘i-Killer’ from LG will come equipped with a whopping 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with a host of integrated features that will include geo-tagging since it’s equipped with internal GPS and of course a xenon flash. The KC910 will have Wi-fi connectivity, a first for LG. The 3-inch display with a 240 x 400 pixel resolution, 3G with HSDPA speeds, microSD card support for external memory and Bluetooth with A2DP will make this handset tough to beat. Like the Viewty, the KC910 will also have support for DivX video playback, Dolby sound for music as well as XviD file support and TV out. Reports say that it could be out in October, the pricing though is still a mystery. My fingers are already crossed. Courtesy : Tech2

Thanks to all who had replied in this thread my dear friends. Below are some examples how we protect our seniors if someone try to put them down. Link for the below mentioned quote. ^^^ @Ashok Cool buddy cool. Kalpak is a very senior member here on Rimweb. You can't thrash such kinds of words on anyone. You only can give suggestions on this neat and clean forum but can't order any one to do this or that. We have noticed that above is your very first post on the forum. By posting harsh words for co-members you will only loose your reputation on the forum. So in the near future, please respect your co-members and be friendly with everyone on the forum. It will be good for your reputation on the forum. Always remember, "FIRST IMPRESSION IS THE LAST IMPRESSION". Regards. And here is one more : Link for the below mentioned quote. @Anil My dear friend, Hetal is a very senior member of Rimweb and you should give him full respect as he has given Rimweb a lot. Who says that he is hiding anything. Please search the forum and then you will get to know what Hetal has done for members of Rimweb. I'm sure that you really feel sorry after searching the forum. And in the future never ever blame any member if you are not 100% sure. Regards. Although it is correct that sometimes many members do not agree with others but at the same time we should give them only Suggestions. http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=15595 http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=13464 http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=13734 http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=14741 ^^^ Agreed my dear Dhiraj Sahab. And please you too also consider not to discuss about Tech. Enc. in the open forum. You knows why. ^^^ I was not pointing towards you my dear friend. Please note the word "Some Members" in my post. ^^^ We respect you a lot my dear friend. Recently we had closed the below mentioned thread : http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=15611 For this many members appreciated me, they said its a good step to close the above thread because If we'd have kept it open, other warez would be posted too. ^^^ Sure my dear friends. Why not. Actually for this senior members too should post in the correct forum. I had received some complaints that some senior members are posting their Buy / Sell needs in the open forum, whereas threads related to Buying and Selling should be posted in the Buy / Sell forum only. ^^^ My dear Pankaj, it seems I have to do that only. But for that I think I should change my name on the forum from HONEST to.....DISHONEST. ^^^ Sure my dear friend, after all we have to take our beloved Rimweb on the top. And in the end, as some members suggested to go by GANDHIGIRI, then here is a little gift for you all. Regards.
  19. Samsung to Launch 8MP Camera Phone on S60 OS Samsung is reportedly getting ready to launch another Symbian S60 handset to add to their range of handsets that already run on the OS. Personally I couldn't be more thrilled. But according to those reports, the handset is not going to be just any old handset with the ‘same-ole same-ole’ features you’d find in most others the Korean company has come up with in the past. The handset, that’s being called the i8510 (for now) is a slider (no big surprise there) that will be equipped with an 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with a xenon flash. If that doesn’t impress you straight off, the camera will also be able to capture video at 120 fps. It also has a 2.8-inch QVGA display sporting 16 million colors, an optical mouse for navigation, TV out capabilities and should be available in two models – one with 16GB of internal memory and another with 8GB. It has dimensions of 106.5 x 53.9 x 16.9 mm and is shelled inside a metal casing. There’s no official word on the handset from Samsung yet, so there’s no pricing or availability. Stay Tuned. 20. TDSAT declines to stay TRAI order on removal of ADC to BSNL 2 Oct, 2008, 1425 hrs IST, PTI NEW DELHI: In a setback to state-owned telecom giant BSNL, telecom tribunal TDSAT has declined to stay TRAI's directive to remove levy paid by priva te telecom operators to the PSU on incoming international calls in rural areas. The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal said since the main petition, in which the telecom PSU had challenged the phased reduction of levy known as Access Deficit Charge (ADC), was still pending, there was no urgent need to stay TRAI's decision to do away with ADC at this stage. Meanwhile, the tribunal also pointed out that if it ruled in favour of BSNL, the private telecom operators would have to pay the ADC on incoming international calls in retrospect, as mandated in the main petition. "...Application is disposed of with a direction that the parties will abide by the decision of the main Appeal and will be bound by the same," said TDSAT bench headed by Chairman Justice Arun Kumar. Access Deficit Charge is a levy paid by private telecom operators to BSNL for meeting the cost of unprofitable operations in rural areas for below the cost wire line and mobile services. In the application, BSNL has submitted that as per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India guidelines, ADC payable to it was ending from September 30, 2009 and this was hampering its revenues. "TRAI has reduced ADC payable on international incoming calls from Rs 1 to Rs 0.50 and this would phase out the same from October 1, 2008. Even ADC payable to BSNL on incoming calls would be completely stopped," said BSNL in its application. Terming it as 'irrational and arbitrary decision' of TRAI, the PSU giant further submitted that to fund its rural obligations and to compensate the incurred losses, ADC should be allowed. "Till such time BSNL is to provide below the cost wireline and rural telephony, it is entitled to the requisite amount of ADC in order to compensate the deficit incurred in providing these below the cost wirelines and rural telephony services," submitted BSNL. Raising further question mark over TRAI's hurry in phasing out ADC, BSNL submitted, "When the appeals challenging the previous regulations on the same issue are pending before this tribunal, TRAI ought have to awaited decisions in the said appeals and ought to have restrained itself from issuing another regulation," said BSNl in its application. The tribunal has clubbed all the previous three ongoing matters in which the telecom giant has challenged the ADC reduction for the financial year 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. The tribunal has listed the main petition for next hearing on October 22. As per its roadmap, the sectoral regulator has decided to abolish ADC from 2008-09. For the financial year 2007-08, TRAI had reduced ADC by 37 per cent to Rs 2,000 crore from Rs 3,200 crore.
  21. Govt, Blackberry makers to jointly resolve security issues 2 Oct, 2008, 1426 hrs IST, PTI NEW DELHI: Stepping up efforts to resolve the security concerns related to Blackberry services, government has joined hands with Canadian firm Research in Motion (maker of Blackberry devices) to address the issue of data encryption. "Our technical team (task force), in coordination with RIM, is working to sort out the issue of data security. We are positive to solve all security-related concerns," Minister of State for IT and Communication Jyotiraditya Scindia said. Security agencies have confirmed that the system is susceptible to misuse by anti-national forces and had asked for government intervention. "Ministry of Home Affairs is looking after the security aspect of Blackberry to ensure that the service doesn't harm anyone," Scindia said. Indian Mujahideen terrorists used WiFi network to send emails claiming responsibility for the serial blasts that rocked the nation during past months. Considering its misuse, law enforcement agencies have even raised demands to restrict Blackberry services. However, the ministry ruled out all such speculation and said that it did not plan to ban Blackberry. "We are here to provide free flow of service and we are doing that. Our ministry is there to make sure that customers don't face any problem. The service (Blackberry) is operational and we hope that it continues to run," the minister said. The security agencies have asked the Department of Telecom to ensure that traffic originating and terminating in India does not travel outside the country. Amidst security concerns raised on the use of Blackberry services, India has already assured Canada that commercial interest of RIM, the maker of Blackberry, would be kept in mind while taking any final decision. Both Indian and Canadian governments had exchanged letters to sort out the issue. On April 17, Canadian High Commissioner David M Malone had written a letter to Communications and IT Minister A Raja, through Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), on the issue of lawful interception of information related to RIM. MEA in its reply to Malone on April 25 said, "It would be advisable for RIM to recognise that Department of Telecommunications is trying to be helpful in the case and to work together with them. It may not help the RIM cause to make allegations about those who are trying to help them." There are about four lakh Blackberry subscribers in India and the services are being offered by Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar, Reliance Communications and BPL. The DoT had also convened a meeting of various stakeholders in order to find a solution to the problem including IB officials with technical representative of RIM.
  22. Raja to meet telecos, may ask them to withdraw cases 2 Oct, 2008, 1605 hrs IST, PTI NEW DELHI: Facing flak for its policies and decisions in the last one year, like dual technology and doling out spectrum to new players that led to n umerous legal cases involving even DoT, Ministry of Communications and IT has decided to broker peace among various warring parties. In a move to give out-of-court settlements a try, Communications and IT Minister A Raja is likely to meet all the operators concerned to resolve the disputes. Besides the numerous legal cases, the ministry is especially concerned about the twin disputes pertaining to GSM operators challenging Raja's decision to allow dual technology for mobile services and the opposite camp of CDMA players seeking spectrum back from existing players beyond 6.2 MHz. Both cases are pending with the telecom tribunal TDSAT and are likely to come up for hearing in next a few weeks. According to senior officials in DoT, the minister wants to settle all controversies before his tenure comes to an end in another 6-8 months. Raja has asked Telecom Secretary Siddartha Behura to convene a meeting of the two rival camps--GSM and CDMA operators--and initiate the process of brokering peace. A recent deal in the telecom space, in which a new operator Swan offloaded 45 per cent stake for USD 900 million without any infrastructure in place, has given further credence to the belief of existing players that spectrum to new-comers had been granted at throw-away prices and the government had lost thousands of crores in the process. The existing GSM players have been saying that auctioning of 2G spectrum could have given real value to scarce radio frequency, whereas Raja feels any increase in spectrum prices would have made the services unfordable.
  23. ^^^ @25K this could be the best buy my dear friends. Regards.
  24. Well, that correct my dear friends, this seems to be an overpriced handset. Regards.
