Reliance Communications Likely To Use " Orange " Brand To Offer Service
Honest replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
^^^ I never found any problems in Reliance Network throughout India, wherever I had been. Except some of very remote localities, their is good network coverage throughout India. ^^^ @Rajesh Katiyar My dear friend, actually its all about money regardless to the status of the operator. Any foreign brand will definetely be ready, if it get the best offer. And Reliance is not at all such a cheap operator. Rather Reliance is the cheapest service provider. Cheap call charges are first introduced by Reliance only. Regards. -
Reliance Communications Likely To Use " Orange " Brand To Offer Service
Honest replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
^^^ My dear friends, Orange had already gained the popularity in India when it has the tie-up with Hutchison-Essar. That means very soon indian roads will be flooded with the hoardings of Orange again. I do remember, earlier when Orange has started in tie-up with Hutchison-Essar, in the very first month of their operations, they had refunded some amount equivalent to Rs.900/- to their existing customers as a gift. God knows what surprise they would be having now for the Indian subscribers. Regards. -

^^^ My dear friends, as per the quality and performance, Transcend & Sandisk Pen Drives will be the best buy. Actually the pen drive speeds does matter according to your computer's USB port also. If you have an old computer, then it may be having USB 1.0, which is slower. In latest computers their is USB 2.0, which is much more faster. I'm using Transcend, and very much satisfied with the same. Regards.

Tata Teleservices Willing To Pay For Poor Services
Honest replied to sougatadc's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
^^^ MY dear friends, 2 years before Airtel also had promised to come with such kind of serivce, in which if the call is dropped due to network failure, then the same call will not be charged. But till date this promise has not been fulfilled by them. These operators, just make headlines for them by simply throwing some comments for the service which is not even scheduled to be in force in the near future. God knows what TATA will do now. Hope they should fulfil their words. Regards. -

Updated : Blackberry Blackout By Indian Govt? Tata Tele's Application Rejected !
Honest replied to Honest's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Is The Planned Blackberry Blackout On Sunday "Routine Maintenance"? Blackberry subscribers on some Indian wireless operators such as AirTel & Vodafone, received notifications today from their providers' corporate services departments informing them that Blackberry services would be unavailable on Sunday morning between 0730h and 1130h. While RIM declined to comment, some of the operators we contacted, said it was "routine maintenance." Vodafone's technical helpdesk said that it was an annual maintenance operation, originally scheduled for January which got shifted to March. A representative said that RIM chose the time after conducting a survey and determining the lowest email period. A spokesperson for Airtel said that RIM had informed them it was routine outage, involving other parts of South East Asia apart from India. She further added that AirTel did not expect the actual outage period to last more than an hour. A senior tech executive at Reliance Communications said that the company was earlier intimated about an outage and that they had informed their subscribers that Blackberry services would be unavailable on Sunday morning between 0730h and 1130h. While it's highly likely that this is indeed a normal infrastructure upgrade drill, the recent government threat to blackout the service adds a twist to the tale. Telecom Secretary S Behura, yesterday said that there was no question of a ban , though some of the "solutions" being discussed such as deployment of "mirror servers" are already raising eyebrows. Moreover, today's Business Standard reports : DoT, however, pointed out that due to home ministry objections it had already informed all operators to stop Blackberry services by the end of December. However, responding to requests, operators were given a three-month extension, which ends in March. The conflicting reports from operators and RIM's silence seems to suggest that there could be more to this "routine maintenance" than meets the eye. -
BlackBerry Gets Its First Trojan Varun Srivastava, the Business Development Head at APPIN Security Group that just happens to be a leading player in ethical hacking and information security, has recently come out with a Whitepaper on what causes hacking of BlackBerry phones, whether it is secure/ lawfully interceptible, and how can it be avoided. Needless to say, BlackBerry users are probably fretting right about now, as most offices these days issue some of their executives, especially the ones that are constantly traveling, with Blackberry handsets. What the guys at APPIN have stated is simply, as soon as a Trojan for the BlackBerry is out and making its rounds, Blackberry users are going to have a problem with keeping their data secure. A hacking code called the BB Hacking toolkit, which comes with the Blackberry Trojan called BBProxy is what can be deployed into a BlackBerry server and it’s ‘Troy’ all over again. What this deceitful Trojan does is open up a back-door to the company’s BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and the information stored is then up for grabs. In technical terms it will bypass all the company’s security systems that protect data stored on the servers. Not only can the hacker simply remove information undetected they could also infect the system itself. Since the communications channel between the BlackBerry server and handheld device is encrypted and cannot be properly inspected by typical security products, a tunnel is usually opened by the administrator to allow the encrypted communications channel to the BlackBerry server inside the organization's network. When launched, BBProxy opens up its own hidden tunnel between the BlackBerry and the user's corporate network, as the hack runs in the background. Thanks to the R and D conducted by APPIN, they also enclosed a few countermeasures in their Whitepaper release – To counteract this potential threat Secure Computing recommends isolating servers that face the public internet, including a BlackBerry server and the mail server working with it, in their own Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), which would reduce the risk of a compromised server providing access to other critical servers. The BlackBerry server and mail server should also not be permitted to open arbitrary connections to the internal network or Internet, and internal users should not be permitted to open arbitrary connections to either the BlackBerry server or mail server. There is something like 250 plus commands that allow the administrator to have full control over how the BlackBerry as a platform is used by the users within the BlackBerry Enterprise Server community. This gives administrators full control over what third party applications can be installed on employee handheld for example. Setting one policy can disable unwanted software altogether. So you never have to worry about malware or anything else that's not authorized.

Reliance Say Total Network , But We Say Poor Network
Honest replied to nkmenon55's topic in Reliance Communications
^^^ My dear friends, Reliance network is really awsome in more than 85% of its total coverage. In my opinion Reliance's network is great. And about the no network in Tirupathi Temple, I think regardless to the network availability near or inside the temple or any other religious place, all these religious places must have installed mobile jammers inside their premises. If their is no network in Tirupathi Temple, then it is good in my point of view. As people goes to temple for praying and not for making calls. Atleast their will be peace for some time. Regards. -
^^^ Thanks my dear Arun. Regards.

^^^ Its really a nice step taken by BSNL my dear friends. Will be helpful to many. Regards.
