Acer Releases eM350 Netbook with MTS MBlaze Extremely affordable netbook includes 250GB HDD at just Rs.10,999 Acer has been distributing Gateway brand of laptops after purchasing it in 2007. That also includes Gateway owned low-cost PC brand eMachines, which is being marketed under Acer's name here in India. Now, Acer has unveiled the eM350 netbook from the same brand under its own banner, and it's being bundled with an MTS MBlaze high-speed Internet connection at a very reasonable price of Rs. 10,999, which includes a free MTS USB dongle. Despite its killer price, the netbook doesn't lack anything on the hardware front. You get an Atom N450 core with 1GB of RAM, and a surprisingly large 250GB hard drive, which is a welcome change from the entry-level 160GB HDDs found in cheap netbooks. The screen size is a standard 10.1-inch (1024x600) screen and comes embedded with a VGA webcam and mic. The laptop is pretty light at just 1.25 kg and comes bundled with Windows 7 starter edition. The 3G broadband enabled variant costs Rs. 12,999, which also provides cash back of Rs. 2,000 within 15 days from activation of the MTS connection. The cash back offer is valid only until January 31. Yes Rajan Brother, I agree about Micro Piezo Technology being used by Epson in its every printer model. Even I too used Epson C-63 once. But it given me a lot of trouble as ORIGINAL EPSON cartridges being dried up even if I give a 7 days break for printing. Anyways, I want to add one more thing dear Rajan. Do not use Draft Mode more, as this will further reduce the lifespan of the print head. For printer head longivity, use it on normal speeds.
-
Congrats Rajan Brother for your new printer. Although Epson Printers gives quality prints but they have in-built print head inside the printer. So ask your home minister to use this printer also for colour prints occasionally. Otherwise not only the Colour Cartridges would dry up but also the print head could get clogged. And once the print head got clogged, replacing it will cost you as good as a new printer. The only reason I avoid Epson is becuase of its in-built Print Head. I always prefer HP, because in HP the print head is built on ink cartridge itself. If any problem occurs, just throw away the cartridge and install a new one, and you are ready with as good as a new printer. Ab meri yeh post babhie ko mat padhwaa dena kahin pe. Nahi toh DANDEY padna nishchit hai Rajan Babu. Kaho toh apna yeh post hide kar doon.

Afterall you are guiding us for our benefit only. I'm already on the track to sleep early now a days because a good night sleep of atleast 7-8 hours is necessary for our body (as you told in one of the other thread). Soon, I will sleep early and wake-up early. Fir der raat ko nahi early morning ko mulaakaat hua karegi. Aur Genius Brother, iss baar mil nahi paye Mumbai mein. Agli baar definetely milenge. By the way, I appreciate our Kalpak Ji, as he is the man who always wake-up early in the morning. I'm observing his posts from the last 5 years and he always been the first to post on Rimweb in the early morning hours. You can see all his posts and you will find 98% of his posts were made in the early morning on Rimweb. Great going Kalpak Brother. Keep it up. I'm also joining the league very soon. +1 to you all above for your valuable suggestions. Karthik Bhai, Badminton is my son's favourite sport and he loves it also. He got selected in his School's Badminton Team when he was in Sixth Standard. He played many badminton matches for his school in the inter-school badminton championships and won on most of the times. Till date he plays Badminton Matches for his school and I'm really proud of him. Ganesan & Chirag Brother, no doubts books are always the best gift. I used to gift him books on other occasions. Ani Bhai.....we already have a digicam, thats why not planning to gift a Camera. Genius Brother, many thanks for clearing my doubts about Gym. And yes, as you and Saket Brother suggested, Yoga classes alongwith Gym could be the best option. Kalpak Ji, I 100% agree with you......as parents, the best thing we can do is to motivate the children to Exercise on regular basis.

Thanks Jayanth for your valuable suggestion. +1 ) Ya, that was the reason my other friends told me that weight lifting etc is not suitable for teenagers and should be avoided upto the age of 18. I'm too waiting for Genius suggestion on this. GENIUS bhau.....kahaan ho ??? Will put Firefox Cycle too in the list.

+1 to you both Rajan Brother and Saket Bhai for your valuable suggestions. Rajan Bhai, I think my wife will not agree for this too. As he already addicted to Mobile and PSP, so another Multipurpose Electronic Gadget is nowhere in our list. Saket Brother, my son is a Great Swimmer. As we put him into swimming classes when he was just 8 years old. He continued swimming upto the age of 12. Ek baar toh mai bhi dekh ke darr gaya tha jis tarah se usne Back Dive ki thi. Last year he was very curious to join a GYM. But some of my friends, told that GYM is not recommended for this agegroup. Asking again dear friends, is GYM recommended for this agegroup or not ?

+1 to you all for your valuable suggestions my dear friends. You all have suggested great gifting ideas and I'm very very thankful for the same. Rajan Bhai, mai thak chuka hoon usko samjha samjha ke....ke kuch achhi books padha karo. Magar woh kehta hai pahle IPAD dilaa doh fir sab E-BOOKS, PDF format mein padhunga. Rimweb effect....LOL. He's some techie type of a child. Chotey Motey kaarnaame karta rehta hai, computer khol ke and he's having a great knowledge about Symbian Applications too......Now a days, he is much more interested in Android. But we are not going to gift him a mobile upto next 2 years. We already have Digicam, so gifting another digicam seems not to be a good option. He no more interested in Cycling too. Dhiraj Brother, yes Netbook could be considered. But supervision ka maamla khatarnaak hai bhai. Being a Music Lover myself..... I done my best that he should learn atleast Guitar / Organ (Casio)..... But he shows no interest in learning music and I never forced him. In all, I think that now a days children rarely indulge in Physical Activities, so gifting him yearly subscription to Gym could be one good option. But then some of my friends says GYM is not recommended for this age group. Any comments on it dear friends ? His birthday is falling in the last week of January. So if anyone has more ideas for this Techie Child then it will be appreciated.

Vodafone Has Failed To Produce Pact With Hutchinson: I-t Dept
Honest replied to Honest's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Vodafone made no capital gains: British envoy 14 January l The Economic Times l New Delhi British High Commissioner to India Richard Stagg today said telecom operator Vodafone should not be made pay the proposed Rs 11,000 crore tax from its deal with Hutchinson Essar as it had not made any capital gains ". "We believe that Vodafone have not made capital gain, which would attract the proposed tax. But these issues are lying in the Indian Supreme Court, we respect the court of land ... but we have an opinion," Stagg told reporters here. In 2007, Vodafone, through its group firm Vodafone International Holdings, had bought Hutchison India's 67 per cent stake in Hutchison Essar joint venture for about USD 11 billion (Rs 55,000 crore). The tax authorities claim that the deal attracts a tax of over Rs 11,000 crore, even though the deal was done by two MNCs outside the country. The IT department fixed tax liability of Rs 11,217.95 crore on Vodafone International Holdings BV, treating it as an assessee in default for its failure to deduct tax at source, as required, before making a payment of USD 11,076 million (about Rs 55,000 crore) to HTIL. Following the stake transfer in 2007, Hutchison Essar was renamed Vodafone Essar. In November last year, the Supreme Court had directed Vodafone, which is contesting the tax demand to deposit Rs 2,500 crore, along with a bank guarantee of Rs 8,500 crore, before it within eight weeks for adjudication of its suit.
