  1. ^^^ Ashish Bhai, never expect cheap POSTPAID PLANS from Vodafone. They will carry on charging higher rentals from their Postpaid subscribers. And if in Postpaid, they provide low calling rates, then it is sure that they will not provide GPRS / Sms etc. on lower rates. Thats why I already said BYE BYE to VODAFONE POSTPAID , and shake hand with VODAFONE PREPAID.
  2. Raccoon Bhai, this is a very old problem with Docomo while recharing your account online from their website. I face this issue every time. It accepts the amount only after you repeat the same steps two three times. Really irritating. Apart from this issue, whenever after online recharging my one docomo mobile, I try to recharge my second docomo mobile, it always get reject from the Bill Desk and shows payment unsuccessful. I hope Docomo should do something for these issues at the earlies.

  8. RIM Gives Messenger Solution to Indian Govt Lawful access doesn't extend to corporate email but only to messaging services and Internet services Canadian mobile maker Research in Motion has submitted a new solution to the Indian government for interception and monitoring of BlackBerry Messenger as per Reuters reports. The January 31 deadline given to BlackBerry is closing in fast and it seems RIM is busy putting things in order to avoid getting its services banned in India. The government of India had asked RIM to offer a solution that will let Indian security agencies intercept and monitor encrypted BlackBerry Services. Last month RIM rubbished reports of setting up a Network Data Analysis Systems infrastructure at its premises in India. RIM gave a solution to Indian mobile service providers that will allow lawful access to BlackBerry Messenger and BlackBerry Internet services. The company also stated that the solution ideally meets the requirements of the Indian government. Once again RIM stated its incapability to provide access to highly secure corporate emails since they are encrypted while it travels from the user's device to the BlackBerry Enterprise server. RIM reiterated that it does not possess any master key for decoding these heavily encrypted emails. RIMM said, We also wish to underscore, once again, that this enablement of lawful access does not extend to BlackBerry Enterprise Server [corporate email], which is essentially an enterprise VPN solution. However, the Indian government also seeks the lawful interception solution for the company's encrypted email services. Courtesy : Techtree
  9. Telecom ministry allows video phone calls 13th January l New Delhi l Reuters Telecom ministry said on Thursday it has allowed mobile carriers to offer video calls on their third-generation networks, on condition that they would provide interception capabilities by July 31. The government had earlier asked operators to stop services such as video calls as security agencies were not able to intercept them.

  14. Rajaan Bhai agar chahte ho apni married life bachaana toh bhabhi ko VODAFONE he dilaana. Idea is good but their offers are not that great as of Docomo. Docomo too can be good but in certain areas you get fluctuating network due to lack of coverage. If she is going to use it mostly at home then first check the coverage of Docomo at your place and then decide. But still I think that reverting back to VODAFONE could be the best option. As Vodafone has the very very good network throughout the city and in Thane too. Vodafone GPRS is the best when compared to other operators data services. Roaming throughout India (in most of the cities) is superb as per my experience. Sms delivery and receipt too is on time. One more suggestion from my side. If you revert back to Vodafone, then go for Vodafone Prepaid. Because there are much more offers in Vodafone Prepaid as compared to Postpaid. I converted one of my 10 years old Vodafone Postpaid number to Prepaid last month, just because Vodafone offered me 50 MB Data on a monthly rental of Rs.99/- for Vodafone Mobile Connect data plan. Whereas, they offers 1 GB to its Prepaid subscribers at the monthly rental of Rs.99/-. They tried their best to retain me as a Postpaid subscriber by some good offering. But I insisted to convert my number to Prepaid. And now as a prepaid subscriber, I'm happy then ever. I used to recharge my account by Rs.1111/- and get full talktime on it. No hefty taxes have to be paid as compared to the postpaid. And recently Vodafone started 1 paisa per second calls to all networks throughout India. Earlier it was 1 paisa per second local and 1.2 paisa per second for STD calls to other networks. Brother, offers in the prepaid section are just endless. Agar biwi ke hath ki garma garam KACHORIYAAN khana chahte ho toh wapas VODAFONE dila doh bhabhi ko. JO BIWI SE SACHMUCH KARTE PYAR, WOH VODAFONE SE KAISE KAREIN INKAR !

  18. Need Advice For Printer Purchase

Dear Pulkit, as you are in Travel Agency business, then you should go for laser printer only. And then use the refilled toner for your printing needs. You can get approximately 1000 (even upto 1500 also) prints with refilled toner cartridges if you are printing text only. Although as a Graphic Designer, I never recommend Refilled Toners / Refilled Ink cartridges, because I always insists on quality for my printing needs due to certain reasons. But for you dear Pulkit, refilled toners will fit the best. As I'm assuming that you are going to print TEXT ONLY. Try searching for HP Multi Function Printer. Samsung is cost effective but many of its print cartridges can't be refilled.

  20. 2G scam: Shourie backs Sibal’s stand on loss calculation 8 Jan l The Economic Times l New Delhi Former telecom minister Arun Shourie on Friday deviated from the BJP’s line to back Kapil Sibal’s stand that the calculation based on presumptive losses in the 2G spectrum sale was erroneous. “But it is an issue for the CAG to answer,” Shourie said. The former minister, who contested Sibal’s claim that the allocation of spectrum by the NDA led to huge losses to the exchequer, said the current incumbent will be “destroying his own argument” by persisting with such a position. “The UPA government has been maintaining that it was only following what the NDA did. If the sector grew because of the NDA’s policy, Sibal’s argument will not hold,” Shourie said and added that “high school debating points should be left to lawyers”. Shourie, who backed Sibal’s “statement of intent” for reforming the telecom sector, said it should not be seen as a milch cow. “Secondly, the minister has said that there have been violations of law in the past. I would say that there have been blatant violations. He has said that the government will nail the guilty. I completely agree with one addition: there should be unwavering pressure to punish the guilty,” he said. Shourie, who defended the revenue-sharing formula adopted by the NDA, said the whole sector would have collapsed without this shift. “Sibal, who represented Koshika as a lawyer, knows it too well. Besides, where would have tele-density been today if this decision was not taken by the then government,” Shourie asked. He said the revenue-sharing agreement was adopted for prompting a faster growth of the sector. “I got revenue reduction of 2% in 2003 to stimulate the sector. It was given because the companies agreed to withdraw cases against each other and against the government. The sector was logjammed because they were fighting among themselves instead of fighting in the market space,” he said. Rejecting the charge that it was done for appeasing major players in the sector, Shourie said “policies are not cast in stone and it should factor in ground realities”. Shourie said he would like to put forward two constructive suggestions to the minister. “The NDA had begun work on two big initiatives. These were aborted by UPA-1,” he said, adding, “The government should replace 30 types of licences with one universal licence. A service provider should be allowed to provide any service, through any technology, in any circle, to any user. This will make the government a neutral umpire. Unfortunately, Dayanidhi Maran aborted this because he feared that telecom operators would enter the television sector.” The former minister also said that there was no alternative to auctioning of spectrum. “We had begun work on releasing more spectrum. In fact, the then finance minister Jaswant Singh had agreed to give `18,000 crore to the defence services for vacating spectrum. The money was not just for vacating spectrum, it was for modernising their signalling equipments,” said Shourie.
