Tata Teleservices (ttsl) To Roll Out 60 Mn Gsm Lines !
Honest posted a topic in Indian Telecom / General News
TTSL to roll out 60 mn GSM lines Economic Times l 9 Dec l Mumbai Telecom service provider Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has partnered with Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) and Huawei Technologies for rolling out 60 million GSM lines under separate five-year contracts valued at around $3.5 billion. According to sources, CDMA operator TTSL floated the request for proposal (RFP) for 60 million GSM lines some months ago. “It has finalised Nokia for providing services in nine circles, while Huawei has bagged the contract for some other circles,” industry sources told ET. With a robust CDMA infrastructure already in place, TTSL is expected to buy only electronics from GSM networks providers. It will use the existing 60,000 km of fiber optic network as well as passive infrastructure and retail network for speedy rollout of GSM. However, NSN and TTSL did not specify any details of the deal. However, sources said TTSL was likely to pay between $50 and $60 per line. Each line represents the number of customers that will be serviced by the network. TTSL currently has nearly 30 million customers and is targeting 60 million GSM users in the next few years. “Managed services forms just one portion of the vast scope of the deal — the complete services outlay includes local supplies, network planning, project management, network roll-out and systems integration activities across the national network,” TTSL managing director Anil Sardana said in Mumbai. “We feel suitably aligned to NSN, which has a massive services set-up in the country, can provide us the required support,” he added. NSN head for sub-region India Michael Kuehner said, “Not only does this partnership allow us to work with one of the most prestigious names in Indian corporate history, but being selected for TTSL’s GSM launch also considerably strengthens our dominance across the Indian telecom landscape.” Mr Sardana has already announced a capex of $2 billion for the next few years. With the infusion of $2.7 billion by Japanese giant NTT DoCoMo, which has bought 26% stake in the company, TTSL has enough finances for GSM rollout. -
Dear Bhavin, I think you may have to replace Digitaliser & Front Casing of the handset. It will cost you above Rs.2000/-.

Reliance Communication may dilute 26% stake Economic Times l 11 Dec l New Delhi Strategic investors, including telecom groups from the US and Europe, are in talks with the Anil Ambani-led R-ADAG to acquire around 20-26% stake in Reliance Communications (RCOM) — India’s second-largest mobile operator by subscribers, according to a banker. Talks are on for a two-phased transaction, which will first see the strategic investor picking up shares in the company from the secondary market, and then being issued fresh shares through the preferential allotment route, the banker told ET, requesting anonymity. The source said the transaction would be ‘biased’ in favour of secondary market purchases, as RCOM is not interested in a substantial equity dilution. The deal will also hinge on whether RCOM can get a big premium over its current market price. The company’s market capitalisation is down 70% over the past one year to under $10 billion. RCOM declined to comment. Last month, Japan’s NTT DoCoMo acquired a 26% stake in Tata Teleservices (TTSL) in a deal that valued the Indian company at around $9 billion. TTSL, which uses the CDMA technology like RCOM, has around half the number of subscribers as RCOM, prompting analysts to suggest that the R-ADAG company could be expecting a valuation of between $18 billion and $20 billion. RCOM’s listed status means that once the strategic investor’s holding crosses 15%, it will have to make an open offer to acquire an additional 20% equity. The banking source said the transaction would be structured in such a way that even after the open offer, the share holding of the strategic investor will not rise significantly beyond 26%. “The promoter, who owns 67%, is not selling equity and nor will he participate in the open offer. The issue of fresh shares will be calibrated in such a way that after the open offer, the free float of the company will be around 15%,”said the source. He added, At a $20-billion valuation, even a 5% dilution will fetch RCOM around $1billion. The company could used the funds for the upcoming government auction to acquire third-generation (3G) spectrum and network rollout. Analysts estimate RCOM will have to shell out more than $500 million for 3G spectrum and invest an additional $1 billion for network rollout. The names of the potential suitors are not known. However, international telcos such as France Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, Telecom Italia have all previously expressed interest in entering India, the world’s fastest-growing major mobile market. Telecom Italia was involved in talks to buy a controlling stake in Unitech Wireless, while France Telecom was in the running for the TTSL deal. US-based telcos AT&T and Verizon, too, have been scouting for an opportunity to enter India. A stake in RCOM will offer the overseas telco exposure to the fast-growing Indian telecom market that is adding around 10 million new subscribers each month. In addition to being India’s largest CDMA operator, RCOM also has operations in the rival GSM technology. Its combined subscriber base stood at around 58 million at the end of November. The company plans to extend its GSM services from eight circles presently to the rest of the country within the next couple of months. It will also bid for licences to offer 3G services early next year. Foreign companies eyeing the Indian market don’t have many choices when it comes to investment options. Britain’s Vodafone Group bought a controlling stake in the Indian unit of Hutchison Telecom last year. In the past two months, two new licensees — Unitech Wireless and Swan Telecom — found investors in UAE’s Etisalat and Norway’s Telenor. After the DoCoMo-TTSL deal, RCOM is the only major Indian operators without a foreign partner. While foreign companies can directly bid for 3G spectrum, they will have to find an Indian partner as rules do not allow more than 74% foreign ownership in Indian telcos. These companies will also have to stump up an additional Rs 1,651 crore ($300 million) towards a so-called UASL licence, which is a must to launch any form of telecom services.

^^^ My dear Jayanth, actually we get complaints from some of the members that they get UNNECESSARY CALLS even in midnight after they had posted their mobile numbers on the forum openly. Recently, many buyers / sellers requested us to delete their numbers or even delete their posts too, as they are getting harassed by unwated callers. What I had done is for the benefit of the new member. Although anyone can provide his / her number at his will but we don't suggest it. And I think , their's no need to report for the members who put their contact information in their signature. As we can't force them, instead we only can suggest. Aur koi sewa malik ?

^^^ My dear friend, if you don't want LG or Classic then you can go for Motorola W362. Its a good handset. I won't suggest for Nokia CDMA, as the service for Nokia CDMA is very poor.

^^^ Dear Mr. Bhatia, try pressing the Cancel (Red) Button while you are using Music Player. I think it will go to background mode and as soon as you finish your call, the music player will automatically start again. In other mobiles it works like that. But I'm not confirm whether it will work in W362 or not.

My dear Kaushik, the Nokia 3120 Classic will be the best bet for you. As this is the only handset with 3G in Nokia's starting range. It is priced at about Rs.7200/-. All your requirement would be fulfilled with this handset including 2 MP Camera, Bluetooth 4 GB External Memory Support, S40, MP3 along with 3G. Apart from that Nokia 3120 Classic can record videos at the resolution of 640 x 480. Its frame rate in Video recording is much better than Supernova series. I'm also planning to purchase the same in the coming days.

Motherboard Supporting Core2 Duo & Dual Core
Honest replied to Saurav's topic in General Technical Discussion
^^^ Yes my dear Saurav it will work with Intel Motherboards. But always remember that getting after sales service from Intel is not that easy. Although the complaint ratio in Intel Motherboard is very less. But if unluckily if Intel Motherboard develop problem then it will take more then a fortnight to get it replaced / repaired by the service centre. As Intel's service centre is in Chennai only. You have to call Intel Service Centre, then you have to send the Board to Intel through Courier and you will get it back only after 15 days approx through courier. I'm using Intel Motherboard. Its Serial Port gone bad within 8 months of purchase. But due to poor procedure of after sales service, I avoided to send my board to the service centre. And still continued to use the faulty motherboard with faulty Serial Port. Alternately you can try GIGABYTE Motherboards. They are reasonably priced and stuff is also good. -
