For HTC desire 510 the above XDA write protection kernel has issues with front camera. The below link has the kernel with write protection removed, camera issues fixed and some additional features. I got a HTC 510 today and seeing the same issue. How'd you fix it? And pointers would be helpful. I got it working finally. Had to follow the sim unlock steps described here -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2682242 So to summarise the steps 1. Bootloader unlock 2. Flash write protection removed kernel 3. Root it 4. Follow the steps in the above thread for sim unlock. 5. Rename HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk to something else to disable the activation popup. Does HTC desire 510 support Rev.B netwrok? Any special configurations needed? Please help.

Hi All, There is another easy method of reading SPC/MSL without using the ting method. For this you need CDMA workshop. I'm using CDMa workshop 2.7 cracked version. Open the CDMA Workshop program. Once on the MAIN tab, click the PORT button. From this popup, note the COM port your phone is on. Close the popup window. Select the COM port your phone is on from the upper right select menu on the MAIN tab under COM Settings . Click the CONNECT button. After you connect, the phone verifies the connection at the bottom of the CDMA Workshop program. Click the READ tab next to CONNECT/DISCONNECT button on the Main tab. Your phone's unique information populates the left side of the CDMA Workshop program. Change to the SECURITY tab, and click the select SPC/User Lock on the bottom right and choose LG Method. Click read button and the number that pops up in the window is your 6-digit MSL code. Hope this helps.

When i try to read the Mobile IP settings using DFS, i'm getting the below error . GET DS_MIP_SS_USER_PROF CPS_ERROR BAD_PARAM This happens only when the SIM is inserted. Without SIM and in NV modesi'm able to read and write MIP profiles. Because of this i'm unable to change the NAI to NET. I believe if the value can be changed to NET, data will work not sure.

You may ignore that error, it is not able to write a specific NV ITEM, shouldn't be an issue. The values are not getting written to the Phone.

When i try the QPST setting, I'm able to read the settings but when i try to write It throws me the below error. "The phone returned a failure status during the read and write operation" I also tried changing the port from COM26 to COM 3 as suggested in another forum.

Thanks Vivek, Great initiative, Now everybody is buying LG tribute as they were doing it with MOTO G Boost. Now i activate the mobile on sprint, and Hostspot is active. But still i'm unable to get the taste of data services. Not even 1x Works. If you could explain the below steps with screenshots it would be great. To get data working, I am not sure of the exact change but few of the changes that I had made before it started working are below. I used QPST 2.7.411 for Step 2. (I will update the post with more info once I have the exact changes required). Changed the NV MCC MNC to 404 00 Disabled Sprint Mobile IP profiles and created a new one and activated with NAI as NET Changed NV Mode to SimpleIP

Thanks Varkey, I'm able to activate WIFI hotspot using the sprint activation method. I left the SPC to 000000 itself. So i think reverting to the OLD SPC is not necessary.

That is interesting. So we would need to get it activated on Sprint itself I believe, but how to do it from India? Does activation work over WiFi? I have a Tribute with my friend in US, I could ask him to try activating it on Sprint and see if the Hotspot feature gets enabled. No idea how all this will work but he said he somehow managed to get it activated officially and that's how it worked. Thanks for that input. I went to Sprint site and completed the activation steps, replaced the original SIM which came with the phone and reset all parameters. (##72786#) Then connected to WiFi and it actually activated over WiFi (Took some 10 min). Now the Hotspot option shows up and no more activation popup! YAY! Now to see if everything works after inserting the Reliance RUIM I went to the site https://myaccount.prepaid.sprint.com/activate/contactInfo.jsp. But it is not accepting the MEID enterd, i trided all the options A****, also the MEID listed 3541**** in the Box. There was a problem with the MEID/ESN you provided. Double-check it was entered correctly and try again. If you need help finding the MEID/ESN for the device you are attempting to activate, use our help guide on the right. Looks like I got data working finally, using the same cut sim. I don't know what exactly fixed it, but I played around with QPST and DFS without the RUIM inserted, made couple of changes. Inserted the RUIM and restarted, and data just worked. Summary of the changes 1. Changed the NV MCC MNC to 404 00 2. Disabled Sprint Mobile IP profiles and created a new one and activated with NAI as NET 3. Changed NV Mode to SimpleIP But the problem now is that the handsfree activation message keeps popping up, I have to switch to Airplane mode and back to remove it. Any ideas on disabling it permanently? Fir disabling handsfreee, i think rooting is required.
