  3. your cropped sim might be an old reliance sim..old sims didnt worked for new phones... new sims are OMH

You just need to input the MEID and the ICC ID, both are printed on the outer box itself. I had to add a payment method, but I used a Virtual CC added to an Amazon account and used that as the payment source. You do not need to perform the actual activation on the device, I don't think it would work from India anyway. I haven't got the device in my hands yet, just asked my friend in US to send a pic of the barcode at the bottom with the MEID info.     Wi-Fi is totally different story, It is not part of the connection. Hence, using Wi-Fi will never pose an issue. How much battery EVDO eats ? I guess it is equilant to 3G in GSM and 3G eats battery so much that in 5 hours battery goes from 100% to 10% while 2G I can keep ON whole day on one charge. you didnt get my point...i use EVDO to tether through wifi....it lasts 6-7hrs for my Victory on EVDO..

    if you are using internet on 1X CDMA then you wont able to receive calls at that time... you have to activate EVDO so that you can get Calls while accessing internet... i am currently using Samsung Victory L300 non-sim on which i can use wi-fi hotspot while on call...

    I will not agree with 1st point. But accept 2nd and 3rd point. "india is not a dumping yard" so we cant import used/old phones as per indian customs act.
