^ True, but mob psych is always thoughtless. Car without a test drive is really really unimaginable. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

2G and 20 GB in 30 days? Seems they have invented new technology. At 128 kbps constant speed it takes about 16 days to effect 20 GB :-) Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

Same mob psychology was there for even ETIOS and WV. I know people who booked etios before looking at physical car and bought before test drive. I know a person who booked WV Vento without seeing car in show room. He saw VENTO first time while taking delivery.

Today my account on ebay got suspended. In past my account was suspended without assigning reason. Later I registered new account using MyUS address. I made few successful purchases and couple of sales. However for no apparent reasons it is blocked today.

Yes, I posted similar thread in past. I have a belief that discusson about new ideas keep brain active. It doesn't matter if none materialize. And who know which idea works where and for whom? I wish such topics last longer. Some how on rimweb topics dies very soon. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

Further to S.V.'s idea, how about TRY BEFORE BUY sort of offer? Where potential buyer pay some amount to try out phone for few days or so.... Such phone remains under circulation from seller till he decide / chose to sell it off at discounted rate. Protecting phone from damage / collecting deposit are not a great constrains.

Source http://m.economictimes.com/news/news-by-industry/telecom/airtel-faces-fine-of-rs-50-crore-for-masking-calls/articleshow/10097953.cms Airtel faces fine of Rs 50 crore for masking calls24 Sep, 2011, 0611 hrs IST, Kalyan Parbat, ET BureauKOLKATA: The telecom department is likely to haul up Bharti Airtel for allegedly camouflaging its calling-line identification (CLI) mechanism while making promotional business calls to non-Airtel customers. So much so, it plans to slap a Rs 50-crore penalty on the company since tinkering with the CLI mechanism tantamouts to a breach of licence conditions, an official with direct knowledge of the matter told ET. In an internal note reviewed by ET, the department claims it has received complaints about "Bharti Airtel camouflaging its CLI mechanism in Madhya Pradesh circle for making business promotion calls to non-Airtel mobile customers". Investigations are underway to detect similar violations in other circles. Under Clause 41.19 (iv) of universal service access licence norms, a mobile operator cannot tamper with its CLI mechanism since this is required for security purposes, and any violation amounts to a security breach. In a written response to an email from ET, an Airtel spokesman said: "We have not received any communication from the DoT in this regard and therefore cannot comment on the same." But in an internal note of the department, which is with ET, Bharti Airtel had initially claimed the CLI glitch was triggered by "an error by a third party, a call centre" in this case. "If a third party provides any CLI, then without making any changes, we forward it to the subscriber, which happened in our case," said Bharti Airtel in an internal communication to the telecom department. But following investigations into the case by its vigilance wing, the telecom department found Bharti Airtel's rationale "did not hold good since the call centre in question was not a third party". In fact, an internal department note claims that when this was pointed out, Bharti Airtel in a communication dated February 7, 2011, said a mistake had been committed by its technical staff. "To manage such a large network we are dependent on our workforce and humans do make unintentional mistakes at times due to work pressure and oversight. This particular incident was also a case of human error and we are taking steps to ensure such mistakes don't happen again by tweaking our process adequately." Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

Mobiles And Electonics Will Become Expensive In Near Future?
kshah replied to kshah's topic in General Technical Discussion
I am been reading Safari and Scope (their old and closed long back) since inception If I remember properly, I was reading scope in 1980 also. Its simplicity and precision is unmatched. Their english version is equally good and they have come out with Marathi edition as well,. -
For stevia there is one company in pune who sells saplings. Santosh Agrotech At Post Kharadi Tal, Shirur, Near Esser Petrol Pune, Maharashtra, India - 411 026 Some are in gujarat and in rajasthan as well For stevia it is said to not feasible unless we has specific kind of land. So I dropped idea of cultivating it in factory land. However its worth trying for business as well as regular useage.

Electric is viable option but unless our perception of range chnges. As on today with available technologies, economicaly viable car can not run more than 150 kms (80% of cars in world runs less than 80 kms per day) Also speed of 60-80 kms gives best range. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

Not posible. Certain facilities are not available in cdma like detailed call management, USSD codes, LMS etc. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

BTW does any one know what is smuggled most from our neighbouring country (pakistan)? Diesel :-) So prices are ought to go up. By default diesel engines are fuel efficient. Hence running is cheaper. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

When u go for sedan u get boot of hatch back. This is how I chose my car. Smell - I have not experienced so far (4 years almost), may be fitment related issue. If running per day is less than 25 kms, CNG would be as expensive as petrol in total. If running is around 40 kms cng would be as much as diesel. Cng gives 1.5 times (approx) milage then petrol (liter vs kg) Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

I am driving CNG since about 85K KM's. It is becoming expensive day by day and CNG deteriorates engine very fast. In 80K Kms engine performance has gone down like any thing. Since CNG is not major fuel and not regulated as much as diesel, advantage of runnicg cost between CNG and Diesel is now marginal. Ideally CNG and Diesel gives almost same mileage per Kg and liter respectively. CNG adds about 70 kgs of dead weight on tail hence suspension and tyres wears out faster. Servicing or snag rectification becomes hell of a job as usually customers are flung between CNG and AUTHORIZED SERVICE PEOPLE both find fault of either fuel system.

^ I think for courier mode duty structure is different and it could be as much as 50% -
As mentioned by honestji, if your phone is GB then move apps to SD, not all apps will move to SD. If on eclair, then you have to use apps2sd. You need your phone rooted with clockwork rocovery and you have to create ext partition on SD card.

Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

Please suggest between Samsung Epic or Epic 2
kshah replied to Karthik R's topic in Handset Suggestions
EPIC is as on today still contemporary, it may have 1 GHz single core CPU, but most apps as on today are single core optimized. Many member may differ with my saying but as on today I have liked epic the best amongst all handsets used. May be because my preference for physical qwerty. (45% data on smartphone passes through QWERTY handset, despite being in minority) I am waiting for some real specs for up gradation. EVO 3D was one of it but it lacked qwerty and I am not at all fond of movies so found it useless. BTW come 25th Sept my EPIC will be 1 year old. Longest lasting handset. -
Please suggest between HTC Wildfire S & Salsa or other GSM Handset for Rs.10K - 15K
