Why do we expect so much from 3G just 20 lakh active internet user on mobile. How can it make difference to 20 crore non internet mobile users? http://www.pluggd.in/mobile-internet-statistics-for-india-297/ With this figure assuming immediaely afte launch of 3G active internet users surges to 40 lakh and operators has additional annual interest, upgradation and recovery cost of just 10% of licence fees (about 6500 crore per year). Simple statistics says that it amounts to about Rs. 1500 per month per subscriber. Means unless they shift voice subscribers to 3G spectrum they can not recover cost even.

Lots and lots of High arpu customers who are not rimweb members are more prone to leave RCDMA as soon as MNP is implemented. In last few days I came across atleast 8 non rimwebians but RCDMA customer inquiring that wether I am going to leave rcom after mnp. They were and are not at all concerned with any technicalities. One of them is extensive bb user, paying 899 pm, who never browsed on his BB. This may be very small sample.

it keeps saying the file is corrupted. i downloaded the self extracting file and then that file installs many things on a temp folder out of which we have to copy the INDP.nap file to the phones maps folder. the error comes after its selfextracting that file midways. have tried downloading 2 times. is it working for you? can i get that INDP.map file somewhere? thanks Redownload. Since we all belong to data user. Group, which is minority amongst all cellular population. Even in gsm or total indian population penetration of internet is very very low. So congestion in cellular industry is not because of voice or data user but its because of inadequete deployment of infrastructure and hypothetical subscriber number due to life time active connections. All connections during initial introduction of life time validity are truly life time. New life time connections remain in data base for 6 months till they are stricken off from list. Free of throw away distribution of sim is adding to chaos further. Looking at subscriber density across geography congestion is not as severe as operators claims. Now a days gsm is almost as efficient as cdma in terms of spectrum utilization. WCDMA is even more efficient.

Arey yaar jo 2G me nahin jage woh 3G me jagenge? We all are so adicted to reliance and cdma that we are giving excuses to ourselves since last so many years. Mental exercise jo milti hai. GSM is dull that way. LOL

EVDO is supposed to be better and stable than 3GSM. However, if some one ask me for Ahmedabad, reliance EVDO is very very poor. BSNL 3GSM is faster than reliance EVDO. At the same time 2.1 Mhz of 3GSM means coverage problem. So in nutshell evdo is better if you are ready to remain stuck to poor handsets provided by both leading CDMA operators. Our senior member Hetal is lobbying with reliance to open up evdo on imported handset, but let's hope reliance ever think in interest of its customers. If they do so, EVDO is any day better than 3GSM.

Photo quality depends on ccd / cmos area and lense area. Hence compact camara with larger cmos or ccd and larger lense area may give adequete quality. There is no comparision between compact and slr though.
