Speed depends on network congestion and back bone. Imo cdma players are trying to increase arpu by charging premium for data. That's the only way for them as they have very few high end-user. Cdma is stable no doubt but difference is not as much as premium they are charging.

Sense UI is good no doubt and I too thought that I will not like to use plain vanilla Android. But I was wrong. I used MotoDroid for 2 days and am using samsung moment since last 2 days and fell it was perception.

If you are using too much of VOIP, then do not go for any imported handset, go for GALAXY with EVDO, evantually it will be much cheaper for you. SIPDROID is VOIP client for android and terrasip is VOIP call service providers. Terrasip tariff are here (US is about Rs. 0.40 per minute + EVDO data charges. Due to poor volumes expecting samsung to release any OS upgrade is very big expectation.. Also for those who consider it too old, this phone is no inferior than Hero. Incredible and EVO are very recent launch and who will spend more than 35k in India for them???+ Non ruim devices are cheaper in bulk deal as it save manufacturer from many compatibility issues. OMH ruims only support EVDO and it uses concocted PRL so there re many phone - despite being EVDO can not read OMH RUIM. O really fail to understand purpose of OMH and what is the difference for service providers it makes. Even non OMH RUIM has been supporting EVDO in russian sub continent and in pakistan, why not in India?

Let's hope we get good handsets supporting OMH ruim in next 5 years. Unless US accept ruim getting good high end handset will remain dream as no country except China can provide volumes for mid and high end phones. Technically OMH is just eyewash. HP can comment on my last statement very precisely

^^^ For data services CDMA till date is better than GSM. BB services on EVDO would be better. EVDO RevA do not offer Voice data Simultaneous, so here GSM 3G is definitely better.

Indian telecom is bleeding due to smart Indian consumer and due to TRAI's effort to make telecommunication affordable. Just to save their IJJAT all companies paid extravagantly for 3ZG spectrum and I am sure they will have tough time. In no time government will come out with package for telecons.

Very good article on Qualcomm, I really hold qualcomm responsible for poor state of CDMA. Patents are very expensive affair and require great vigil to protect patent. Apart from individual efforts, even judiciary need to be very pro active else patent cases can never come to a logical end. Also there is nothing like world patent even under TRIPP. One has to get patents in each and every country. So one has to spend for patents, attorney and annual maintenance of patents. I am not saying that patent should not be done or we should keep away from patents, but protecting patent is a challenge in India
