My Phone book and Google contact all together is 1134 Its taking time to search people, calling them and disconnecting Any solution?? this seems to be problem of Android 2.1. I am not on orricial RUU, I am using Fresh 2.1.2 (Deodexed ROM) but I have tried almost all ROMs, this worked well on my hero without audio problems. However I have seen time lag (more than 5 seconds and upto 10 seconds) in contact search, call log update and phone book related operations.

Have you tried on another computer ? If works reinstall windows is only solution.

I agree with you. I raised same topic in past and our Admin took necessary action. Though we do not like commercialization of Rimweb, the fact is in CDMA one can not buy any thing from market as hardly any thing available. So RImweb being exclusive and oldest CDMA discussion forum for India, commercialization will bring in new people who may share something someday. Also one fact is we Indians are too misers and we do not share any damn thing. Not even knowledge or information. We see money every where and that is the reason we remain poor. If some one is charging money for solution which he spent money for or he took risk for, I think its worth paying and its justified. For example, I was the one who converted my PPC 6700 first to RUIM. I took risk and I exchanged my information with one free PPC 6700. I also assured buyer of my solution that I will not disclose it to any one who has commercial interest but certainly share with people who would be DIY sort of guys. That arrangement worked.

Though question sounds like noob, but if I flash hero with ROM 2.1, can I revert back to MoDaCo 1.56 ? Because I see in ROM.zip that it has recovery.img, means it must be overwritting custom recovery too and if cant flash custom recovery, then I dont know if can revert to older version of ROM.

Back ward compatibility means it should work even for EVDO. Reliance RUIM implementation is not backward compatible. They are just fooling.

CDMA people are again mis guiding users in name of backward compatibility. How can device which is programmed to read certain values only from NV can read it from RUIM? Since most CDMA users in India are non power, low end users, they can bluff any damn thing about data provisioning.

They are bluffing. I have EVDO provisioned RUIM, when I insert in my ZTE AC8700 modem it do not get connected to EVDO. It jut get connected to 1X
