may be u have non OEM ROM. EPST might have some problem.

Main padhta hun, lekin ye sab post kiya tab mera koi hero pe jane ka irada nahin tha. Baad mein activation ke chakkar me main kuch kar nahin pata tha. Waise bhi muje PST side play around karna acha lagta hai. Rather than OS side.

Have you installed 'Advanced Task Killer'. I use it often to kill the apps which are open in the background, thus saving battery. You can also try. The app is freely available in Android market Ye, installed and using very regularly. Its my habit otherwise too to kill apps when not in use. I do same even in my N97.

Very nice: One of our rimweb member tried to open Pre but its very difficult to open and dis mental. I think all new phone might be same as now they rely too much on adhesives.

you may have tried but why dont you check international dial prefix policy settings -> call setting ->plus code dialing -> Check north american dialing and set code to 00 in international dialing. Battery life of Hero for me is not so great. I dont know why. Perhaps I am the only one who is not happy with battery life. Adroid has matured a lot in due course and availability of apps is really amazing - since many of them are free, it serves purpose without having too much of overhead on resources. However syncing with computer is not at all upto the mark. It can only sync COntacts and calender. No notes, no tasks. Wi-Fi is really very very poor. My nokia N97 is atleast twice better than that of Hero - in terms of range and even speed. Mail clients available on Hero are not great. I fail to understand why still there are not many mail clients supporting IMAP IDLE? Nokia N97 support IMAP IDLE out of box. WM and ANDROID do not. I am struggling to : 1. find ways to save location on google maps. 2. To find ways to install apps on SD card There are ways but since learning Android (Linux) I am not feeling comfortable experimenting. 3. Ways to find sureshot ways to connect device to connect to htc sync on first attempt on WM7

why most of the people are talking about only techie enclave, see techie enclave is closer to underground activity, though there is very little or no such activity. There is lot to share apart from tricks to use other handset. For instance, HP too initiative to develop software for sending SMS from computers and posting ROMS for I think PPC 6800. Muffdal took initiative to find out solutions from across the web and present it in simple terms across the forum. After trying and testing here. One must keep in mind that every thing cost money and time. Now since we have Android toys on hand, same can be done for Androids too. We can post softwares used on handsets, we can share and discuss various features of software - may include even wish list. This will lead us to think further and may encourage some one to develop some thing. I remember in past some rimwebian developed small utility to know lock code and SPC if LG handsets. It was very small yet very useful utility - those were premitive days of CDMA. Even availability of cable was a problem.

Could be ROM problem . Also there is no Message cen tre concept in CDMA. In CDMA messages are sent over paging channel and authentication is done using MIN and ESN. In India tata and reliance uses EVRC. Also if in tata ensure that you have entered all SID / NID pairs and has right PRL. Tata is not as tolerant as reliance. Reliance provisioning settings are very simple and its more fault tolerant.

what ever though I will never use such handsets, I have full admiration for them in making quick replicas and at prices never thought of. Also if its just about style, they turn heads too.

I dont think noobs need to fear that they will not be able to use handsets if not given access to protected area. People here appear to be helpful to new comers even. As far as I am concerned, even in big forums like howard and mobile-files or xda best of the techies have replied my PM's. May be after 2-3 days. But they have replied. Also this thread is not and should not be SADIK centric. He is just a seller on this forum. Its purely co incidental that he is perhaps oldest seller and has more satisfied customers than any other seller on forum. One of the reason is he took risks first. It is very important for all the members to realize that solution some of technical problem do involve money, some time big money. I have bricked couple of expensive handsets. I have spent lots of money on useless hardware as well - like modem, handsets, data cables, software (licensed) just to gain nothing. As I am not in business of cracking or hacking & I am no expert still. Again purpose of posting this thread was to make clear what RIMweb should be. Its fine if Admin group thinks that Rimweb is best in current format. Its also fine if every one thinks and work to ensure that Rimweb remains clean trust worthy idea (first) and goods (last) exchange place.

See what happen is for example I am in office and get some call, so I create note in outlook so that I can refer it as and when I want. When synced, I get my necessary references on handset too. Using other method means I have to ensure that I sync than another method too. Even when I am out side and if I make some note, its on my computer too. Nokia has Active Notes too, which I do not use, Active notes are HTML documents with links for mail ID, web site and phone numbers.One can insert images and audio too but since they are not synced I am not using.

Note and tasks are very important features. They make life easy by jotting down many thing. I do not substitute tasks with calender or appointments. Nor notes with documents. Notes are just like WM / Symbian devices, part of your PIM - not office suite. None mentioned above meet my requirement with Outlook. I rely more on outlook than online accounts. I have too many account for every small job. How can we have different accounts for calender, mail and contact (gmail), note some where else, task some other place.

I think many of Rimwebian thinks Jawaharlal Nehru way, PROFIT IS BAD WORD. Selling and profiting must be be the way of life. Even VIDUR told to Dhurtrashtra (Mahabharat) in that work is not good if one do not get either of Knowledge or fame or money. The point is entire discussion should be money exchange should not cause hinderence in development of forum, individual or group. I have been advocating since years to charge members subscription so many non serious members will be filtered out - that will also create funds for may be financing some idea - ofcourse this is very long term view.. Charging money and then playing god may be a worst thing one can do. Ofcourse, frankly - I have not came across any member so far. But certainly there are such members. While discussion with other members, I was surprised to learn that few of members have created impression that if messed up with them - they can do any thing - due to proximity with reliance. A small suggestion to all members, think long term. Dont think about small money in short terms. Discussion forums can make life and provide opportunities like any thing. Make it a learning place - sharing place and make money from truly physical world.
