Slot cycle settings on handsets are usually over ridden by net work now a days. Lower the SCI loew the battery life. Most networks across the globe is using SLI as 2. Each number represnets 1.28 seconds. 2 means every 2.56 seconds handset will wake up to check network. If there is a mismatch between network and handset - and if network do not care for handset SLI then there are more chances if missed calls and excessive battery use.

may be MTS sim is OMH sim. I have heard that OMH sim causes problems with some handsets. If its MIN outof range, then kyocera uses SPC3 to unlock. Since I dont know how to do it, I will not be in position to guide you further.

After about 2 years off CDMA I am trying to get back to CDMA. I request following clarifications for RWORLD / NETCONNECT CHARGES 1.. If I subscribe to Rs. 99 300 MB / Rs. 299 unlimited plan, Do I have to connect trhu proxy so that I am charged accordingly? 2. How much I will be carged if I use to check email? Without proxy and no mail client will work with proxy. 3. What I have to do to get net connect at reasonable tarriff. 50 Paise per minute is damn too expensive. In last 2 days I have used up more than Rs. 300 worth data - in trials only. Please help

Email client of hero (Android) is really poor. I fail to understand why mail client can not support IMAP IDLE? G mail application can be configured only for 1 mail ID. Symbian mail client on N97 support imap idle out of box. With multiple mail boxes support. Its said than k9mail is supporting imap idle. I will download and post comment.

I am in CDMA still. Now on BB pearl (Upgrading ). Frankly, I am waiting for MNP and will be back in even Reliance GSM so I may be all reliance customer. I could not be very active in rimweb due to my personal reasons like sickness of my mother followed by her demise. It took more than 4 months for me to recover from her loss. Then I am still having another personal problem which may get solved in next few months.

to connect internet on RCONNECT APN, use MDN as username and password. It does not require any prox. If you want to activate plans,, one has to go to RWORLD, then subscribe to various available plans. Like Rs 99 for 300 MB per MOnth, daily passs of some Rs. 10 (25 MB max) etc.

I am queued up to switch to RGSM as soon as MNP come into force. However, I must say that Airtel knows how to charge premium - just be providing great customer care. Recent example :yesterday I bought RGSM SIM on RGSM CC, they say, after sending SMS to 55100, I have to wait for 48 hours. If I donot get SMS in 48 hours, then they will take my complaint and forward to GPRS department and it will be resolved in next 48 hours. You can not expect so from Airtel. Before you finish your call to CC, you will get SMS with complaint number and resolution time. During my about 1 year stay with airtel, I must say all my complaints were resolves in less than few hours. Where as in reliance none complaint is getting attended before 24 hours.. And they deserve premium because of customer care. If reliance knows how to be customer friendly, reliance can be number 1, without doubt with most high value customers.

How can they charge network usage charges when you are not using their proxy?

Instead Rs. 99 for 300 MB is much better, dont you think so?? Because of speed I am sure on reliance usage of data will be more than other operators. BTW, since netconnect charges are as much as Rworld, why one would go for RWORD type of restricted services?? I just want to kknow.

Reliance speed is certainly much much better than Airtel. I am preparing for MNP too (Will switch my GSM to reliance) So bought Reliance SIM and I could download about 2.42 MB in just 2.5 minutes. Thats almost 60% better than airtel. I was never able to download about 2.5 MB in less than 4 minutes.
