is it on tata or reliance?? because though you mentioned RIM handset, your profile say not a RIM user. If its on tata, you have to program using serial cable. Else this will go on.

Bharti Airtel Cuts Mobile Roaming Charges
kshah replied to ravi_patent's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
except for great customer care, airtel has nothing else to offer. The day MNP comes into force, I will switch to reliance GSM. I already have CDMA on reliance. Reliance is the best service provider in terms of network quality and simple and cost effective plans. Airtel knows how to milk their customers by providing excellent customer service. -
Whose Network Is Best, Full Report Availble Now
kshah replied to ravi_patent's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Reliance CDMA is best network interms of congestion, call drops and voice quality. Even data speed is pretty much consistent over TATA CDMA and any GSM network. -

My preference is for AVG but recent installation of Kaspersky shows that kaspersky is much better than AVG, faster, leaner and precise. -
Docomo Vs Rel Simple Vs Rcom Per Second Vs Reliance 1re/3mins
kshah replied to vvinayakpai's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Reliance has been offering very simple, non complicated plans since its inception. Its GSM lobby which really makes things complicated. Reliance is complicated in data though. -
I am about 6 feet tall and I have driven almost all cars before choosing My present indigo and indica in past. Indica - including vista has the best sitting comfort and room for all. Next comes in SX 4 and then comes is I20 or Hundai Getz. I have seen in most cars including toyota corolla and honda city, my legs touches to steering. Only in Indica, indigo and SX4 that is not the case. Before deciding brands, I will suggest you to go thru reports of JD POWER http://www.jdpower.com/Autos and see quality and other ratings. They are considered one of the best ratings. (My sister works in Ford, US and she informed me.) You will be amazed to see that many times how better korean cars are than japanese brands. Brand and quality is more of a mindset than any thing else (I am working with most home appliance companies so know how quality is treated by them) Before buying a car, please define your requirements 1. Amount of driving 2. Type of driving 3. Affordability (in terms of maintenance and fuel efficiency) 4. Usage. (You should not consider bigger car just because you foresee travelling with family once a year for 200 kms, just an example) Remmeber you spend more on fuel than the cost of car itself, however this largely depends on your usage. One of friend recently bought Indica vista and its great refinement. Rememmber value for money (Being gujarati - i think iits important to understand this concept)

Need Suggestions To Buy A New Cdma Handset For Reliance
kshah replied to Aamber's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Windows mobile or even palm 755P can compete most of handsets supplied by reliance officially. Also instead of going to EBAY to save few hundred bucks, go to sellers from RIMWeb like sadik, PK daga or few new sellers I am not aware about for handset as they provide support for tweaking too. Buying dual SIM handset may very convenient but it has a great safety and health hazard. Reliance MMS are not supported in most out side handset. -
Remember no one in the world consider Indians for any thing (Because of our very selfish, limited vision and approach). Why HTC should?? Our demands are not in such great numbers that it compels them to atleast think in that direction.

Palm Pre is a good handset however it has following drawbacks and those who are planning to buy PALM PRE for their use must consider following: 1. Activating palm pre is no easy. This is first and foremost consideration. It takes hours if not days before you can get it activated. 2. It does not support 1X PRL means you have to either live with original sprint PRL or Reliance / TATA EVDO data card PRL, which may create problems - not sure. 3. If any one wish to use or activate USED PALM PRE by MEID method, then there are 80 - 100% chances that your palm pre may brick after MEID / pESN tweaked. Palm pre is not for people who do not wish to learn and learn and learn new things and weak hearted people who are afraid of phone getting bricked in the process.

I will surely do it, however I have to recall my facebook UN & PW and twitter , yet to get register. I agree with hetal. Remember days when reliance was planning to rip all data users by charging Rs. 1 per 10 KB or so. THat time many members, of them many advanced and reputed members made so much noise because they were to loose money from their pocket, but when it came to sign petition - less than 100 rimweb members bothered to sign petition. Unfortunately, Rimwebian are behaving exactly same as our whole ccountry, where we make so much of noise against all problems we are facing, but when it comes to take actions, people are least bothered. We all are good at discussing stuffs standing at PAN shop - which has no meaning or worth NOTHING.

Call back of cars happens all over the world. Even GM and ford has done it so many times. Though I am not going to buy nano for myself, I am firm believer that NANO is tata's one of the greatest achievement in engineering. They promised 1 lakh car and they gave 1 lakh ex factory priced car. I explicitely remember ratan tata saying that if government do not waive off taxes we will give at 1 lakh ex factory. They did it despite severe increase in prices of metal and other raw materials. Maruti 800 is 25 years old technology and can not be compared in terms of power to weight ratio, fuel efficiency and safety features with nano. Nano is superior in all the aspects than maruti 800 and still nano is cheaper by about 30%

No sim readers do not support RUIM cards. Some SIM reader however do support reading user data from RUIM but they are not as reliable as reading SIM cards.

What hetal has mentiond clearly shows that reliance has still heads inherited from cdma psyche. Why they want to complicate gsm as well?

I dont know how much freedom palm is going to offer on GSM, but it seems to be too optimistic approach. After seeing the way handset softwares are controlled by Apple (Mac OSX ) and Web OS (Palm Pre) in CDMA. Can you imagine a situation where for any reason if you had to hard reset your handset then you can not use your handset unless you get authenticated to PALM site. It do not offer even emergency log on to your system say for 2 or 3 days till you get data or solve your log on problem. By chance if you have official ROM then you can not log on using even wifi, you mush have unofficial ROM to log on using wifi. (I hate this kind of restrictions) WM do not appear to be a good OS till you experience other OS and system. WM as per me is one of the best OS. THough its slower, non innovative, bulky and old OS trying to fit into new requirements. But its the best, open ended, least restrictive OS. Second best is Symbian and then may be Linux based OS. Unfortunately linux based OS are as closed and restrictive as Mac OSX.

Please beaware that chances of getting pre working on reliance is 50%. I will not sugget to buy pre for using on reliance rather based on your needs choose from mogul or BB.

Palm Had A Mighty Fall ........n Is Still Breathing!
kshah replied to aviator's topic in Other handsets
I am happy that your phone survived. You know reason, Aviator. Agreed palm pre is no where near to 700 / 755P. Even old PPC. Though probably built by HTC. -
There are two ways- one go to opda (Chinese site) make request and get certificate in 24 hours. Another is to hack your phone and install unsigned applications. FOr that you have to get Hellox (FOr this you need sign else you have to pay few bucks to get signed Hellox) For OPDA certificate follow these links http://www.symbianblogger.com/tips-n-tricks/how-to-get-a-opda-developer-certificate-for-symbian-operating-system http://www.symbian-freak.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=36932&sid=b3bf977156837ff8c163460bfc90c312

Fair Usage Limit In Tata Indicom(cdma)
kshah replied to abkumar's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
DOnt you guy think that we are discussing what is not required?? All trelcos just want to attract customers under fancy schemes. Once they are in trap, they enforce all sort of restrictions. Restrictions are restrictions. Its better to fight than discuss. -
Fair Usage Limit In Tata Indicom(cdma)
kshah replied to abkumar's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I will suggest your friend to go through contract and go to consumer court. Also tell him to post on mouthshut.com and discussion forums like RIMweb with scanned images of letter he received. This is the perhaps only way to bring them to books. -
Discussion Topic For Palm Os Based Handsets, Softwares, Utilities, Comparision Etc
kshah posted a topic in Other handsets
I am been using Palm treo 700P since last more than 8 months and I must say I am very happy. Infact happier than WM but still PALM is not ultimate OS. But I would like all Palm users to post their requirement, problem and feed back to help other RIMwebians to choose palm phones which are much cheaper and has superb performance. Pros of PALM OS 1. Very stable OS. 2. Pretty faster than WM5 3. One hand usage of phone as well Palm is possible. 4. Very intutive OS design. 5. Can record conversation. Perhaps only smart phone in CDMA which support call recording. 6. Full MS office, PDF support. 7. Full media support. 8. Very simple UI (This is cons too for many) 9. Superb battery life, due to excellent power management. 10. Excellent mail clients like Snapper Cons of PALM OS 1. Old OS 2. No major upgrade since last 5 years. 3. No multi true tasking (However due to very fast OS, I do not miss multi tasking) 4. Very Simple UI 5. Compared to Pocket IE, browser is weak. 6. Can not play WMV files due to patent issues. I request all PALM users to post their experiences, softwares they use for others. -
If you have micro USB cable, connect 3500 to QPST and can find out MIN. U can use CDMA workshop / UniCDMA too.
